Abstract

This study aimed to create Electronic Publication (E-Pub) Modules for Class XI students at MAN 1 Padang Panjang on the subject of Plant Tissue Structure and Function. This study used the 4-D development model, which stands for define, design, develop, and disseminate, in accordance with the research and development (R&D) methodology. The product was evaluated using e-module validation test sheets. Three professionals, including a biology lecturer from IAIN Batusangkar and two biology instructors from MAN 1 Padang Panjang, verified the e-module utilizing validation tools. The analysis included both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, considering ideas, critiques, and comments from the experts, and to assess the development of the e-module, quantitative data analysis from the validators' survey responses was used. The study's conclusions show that the Electronic Publication (E-Pub) Based E-Modules have a validity score of 80% and are aligned with the measured components. E-Modules that are based on Electronic Publication (E-Pub) was feasible to use to students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Make A Match learning method on student learning outcomes in elementary schools. This type of research is Quantitative research with True Experimental Design. The design used in this research is the pretest-posttest control group design. Sampling was done by random sampling technique. The data collected used observation, tests and documentation, while the research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that this learning model had an effect on the learning outcomes of elementary school students. The application of the Cooperative Learning Model Make A Match is higher than the pretest average. Thus, the make a match model is an important part of improving student learning outcomes and is a choice of various methods for teachers

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out what strategies are implemented by the leadership of Al-Mumtaz Islamic High School, Solok City in developing students' talents, achievements and noble morals. This research uses a qualitative field research approach, a case study approach. Research site at Al Muntaz Islamic High School, Solok City. The research informants were the school principal, committee chairman, deputy principal, Head of the Achievement Education and Training Center (PPLP), teachers, students and elements within the Al Muntaz High School School environment, Solok City. The instruments of this research are interviews, observation sheets and documentation studies. The data collection technique used was through in-depth interviews, role observation and documentation studies. The data technique is by triangulation, namely source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the research show that the strategies used by the Principal of Al Muntaz Islamic High School in developing students' talents, achievements and morals include developing students' potential according to their wishes, while to form morals, they are guided by the morals of the Prophet SAW in everyday life and then doing everything in earnest.

Abstract

Sekolah Penggerak Program is one of the education recovery steps taken by the government. In the implementation of this program, there are five interventions, namely consultative and asymmetrical assistance, improving school human resources, new paradigm learning, data-based planning and school digitalization. Among the five interventions, new paradigm learning is the main focus of schools. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the Sekolah Penggerak Program at SMAN 1 Tilatang Kamang on new paradigm learning which includes differentiated learning, a project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila of the students and the process of grade increment and subject selection in class XI. The type of research conducted is qualitative research with case study method. The place of research at SMAN 1 Tilatang Kamang in May to June 2023 conducted by the researcher as the main instrument of research. The data collected through interview, observation and documentation study techniques. The collected data analyzed with the stages of reduction, representation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was tested using data source triangulation techniques. The results revealed that the school implements Sekolah Penggerak program by focusing on new paradigm learning, namely the implementation of differentiated learning, the project of strengthening sutedents’ profile of Pancasila and conducting the grade increment process as well as the selection of subjects that apply the principles of child-centered learning. Differentiated learning is implemented with three strategies: content differentiation, process differentiation and product differentiation. The determination of differentiated learning strategies is based on data mapping children's learning readiness obtained from diagnostic assessments. The Strengthening Profile of Pancasila Project of Students is implemented with a one-day project scheduling system every week. The process of implementation the project from preparation to assessment is designed based on the themes and profile dimensions set by the facilitation team. The grade increment system from grade X in phase E to grade XI in phase F is based on the achievement of learning objectives and the completion of the project theme in that grade. The selection of elective subjects in grade XI is based on the child's talents, interests, and readiness then the selection process is carried out freely and refers to the results of the child's diagnostic test. Children are given the opportunity to change their elective subjects in the first semester of grade XI by considering the child's learning progress and psychological condition.

Abstract

Biofoam merupakan produk kemasan pengganti styrofoam yang ramah lingkungan karena terbuat dari bahan baku alami berupa pati sorgum dengan tambahan serat berupa selulosa jerami padi dan polivinil alkohol untuk memperkuat strukturnya. Jerami padi yang telah lolos ayakan 100 mesh didelignifikasi menggunakan larutan NaOH 3% dengan rasio serat dan larutan adalah 1:25 (gram/ml) selama 6 jam pada suhu 100°C kemudian dilakukan bleachingmenggunakan campuran larutan NaOH 4% dan H2O2 24% dengan rasio serat dan larutan adalah 1:40 (gram/ml) selama 2,5 jam pada suhu 50°C. Selulosa yang dihasilkan selanjutnya digunakan sebagai filler pada biofoam. Pembuatan biofoam diawali dengan proses plastisasi di atas hot plate pada suhu 95°C selama 3 menit kemudian adonan dicetak menggunakan alat thermopressing selama 3-5 menit. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menghasilkan produk biofoamdengan bahan baku pati sorgum dan matriks polivinil alkohol serta penambahan selulosa jerami padi sebagai filler dapat menjadi alternatif penggunaan styrofoam. Variasi komposisi pada penelitian ini yaitu komposisi massa pati sorgum dengan selulosa jerami padi yaitu 50:0 ; 25:25 ; 20:30 dan 30:20 gr dan komposisi PVOH 50% dari berat kering. Pembuatan Biofoam ini dilakukan dengan metode thermopressing. Hasil terbaik dari penelitian ini ialahbiofoam dengan penambahan filler 30 gr, yaitu densitas sebesar 0,402 gr/cm3, daya serap air sebesar 36,3%, kuat tekan sebesar 0,360 N/mm2, biodegradasi selama 14 hari sebesar 36,03% dan titik leleh (Tm) 187,24oC

Abstract

Package boiler (PB) is a utility unit essential for producing steam by heating Boiler Feed Water (BFW) through the combustion of natural gas with air. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of heat loss on PB efficiency. To achieve this, direct and indirect methods were adopted, with data collected between 4 July and 29 August 2023. The results showed that PB efficiency in the fertilizer industry during this period ranged from 76.06% to 80.71%. On August 29, 2023, under optimal conditions, an efficiency of 80.71% was achieved, while a significant drop to 65.44% occurred during the 6th week on August 8, 2023, due to low oxygen (O2) levels. Flue gas analysis on August 29, 2023, obtained 3.64% excess O2, 11.17% carbon dioxide (CO2), and 0.04% carbon monoxide (CO). PB performance was influenced by heat loss from the dry flue gas, hydrogen (H2) content on flue gas, moisture in air and fuel, incomplete combustion, as well as radiation and convection phenomena.

Abstract

Farmers' knowledge about soil ecology, which is a key factor in increasing the productivity of agricultural products, needs to be evaluated considering that various counseling efforts to increase agricultural yields have not shown satisfactory results. Farmers still unequally manage farmland, providing excessive chemical fertilizers without regard to soil ecology. The purpose of this education is to evaluate the knowledge of the Women's Farmers Group (WFG) before and after conducting soil ecology education based on Islamic science. The subjects of this education were 15 members of WFG Bunga Padi, Jorong Kawai, Nagari Batu Bulek, Lintau Buo Utara, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The community-based research (CBR) approach is used in this educational activity. The stages of educational activities start from socialization, laying the basis of the research and the research design, providing pretests and materials, gathering information and analyzing data on biological factors, capillarity of groundwater, water holding capacity, soil aeration, soil fertility, and soil pH, and the evaluation (post-test). The results show an increase in knowledge and understanding among WFG Bunga Padi members after Islamic science-based soil ecology education. It is hoped that, over time, their mindset in managing farmland will be balanced, with less reliance on chemical fertilizers and more emphasis on soil ecology. As a result, Islamic science-based soil ecology education could have a role in improving farmland and laying the foundation for organic farming.

Abstract

Pengembangan membran keramik berpori dengan memanfaatkan material alam sebagai bahan baku keramik berpeluang menjadi kajian yang relatif dan inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan membuat sampel produk membran keramik berpori berbahan baku bentonit, zeolit dan bahan aditif serbuk kayu menggunakan proses ekstrusi dengan variasi komposisi bahan bakunya. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian sifat fisik sampel produk yaitu susut volum, susut massa, densitas, porositas, dan serapan air.. Dari data hasil penelitian diperoleh kondisi optimum terjadi pada jenis sampel membran keramik CF1 dengan nilai susut volume 6 %, susut massa 4 %, uji densitas 1,347 gr/cm3, serta porositas dan serapan air masing- masing sebesar 22,64% dan 16,02%.  Penambahan serbuk kayu sebagai aditif menurunkan densitas, menaikan porositas dan daya serap air dari sampel. Sampel membran keramik berpori yang dihasilkan memiliki ukuran pori yang relatif seragam dengan rentang diameter sekitar 10 – 20 μm, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai material filter.

Abstract

Combustion is a chemical process between fuel and oxygen utilizing heat. Ambient air contains a variety of gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, and other gases, causing incomplete combustion in the combustion chamber of a 4-stroke petrol engine. The use of artificial air filters with zeolite-flyash composition activated by microwave can adsorb the air that enters the combustion chamber. So that it can improve the quality of combustion. Zeolite is a mineral that is found in limestone mountainous areas, while coal flyash is material from coal combustion at PLTU. Both of these materials have the ability to adsorb molecular sized particles such as nitrogen, CO and water vapor in the air, so the use of both materials is able to produce air with rich oxygen. The performance of the 4-stroke petrol engine is influenced by a decrease in fuel consumption, able to increase acceleration, and reduce exhaust emissions containing CO and HC. To find out the effect of the use of activated zeolite-flyash filters on engine performance, an acceleration test of 0-60 kph was performed. Filter being activated by Microwave with 80% power, 6 minutes activation time, and density (variation in the number of pellets in the filter) 50%, 75%, 100%, and use the Z0: F100, Z25: F75, Z50: F50, Z75: F25, Z100: F0. The best filter is the composition of Z100:F0 with a compactness of 50% able to increase acceleration by 7.17%, followed by filter with composition of Z25:F75 with a compactness of 50% able to increase acceleration by 4,04%.

Abstract

Kopi Robusta merupakan jenis kopi yang banyak diminati dan dinikmati. Penyeduhan kopi adalah cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk menikmati kopi tersebut. Metode Penyeduhan kopi adalah salah satu faktor yang akan mempengaruhi rasa pada hasil seduhan kopi. Rasa yang dihasilkan dari seduhan kopi dapat dilihat juga dari tingkat keasamannya. Tingkat keasaman dapat diperoleh dengan melakukan pengujian pH pada sampel seduhan kopi yang dihasilkan. Air juga merupakan faktor penting dalam penyeduhan kopi, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengujian TDS dan EC agar dapat diketahui nilai padatan terlarut dan konduktivitas listrik pada hasil seduhan kopi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh variasi waktu blooming dan massa air terhadap pH, TDS dan EC sehingga dari hal tersebut bisa mempertimbangkan tingkat keasaman serta padatan terlarut pada kopi agar baik untuk dikonsumsi oleh lambung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Aeropress teknik inverted dengan faktor pengaruh waktu blooming 60 detik, 75 detik, dan 90 detik serta massa air 24 gr, 34 gr, dan 36 gr. Sedangkan variabel tetap untuk biji kopi sebanyak 12 gr setiap melakukan pengambilan sampel. Selanjutnya digiling menggunakan manual grinder No. 3, serta Volume Air yang sebanyak 150 gr dengan suhu air 93°C. Hasil pada penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa waktu blooming dan massa air akan mempengaruhi nilai pH, TDS, dan EC
