Abstract

Sendangsari Village, Purworejo Regency, has significant agricultural potential, but its utilization is not optimal due to low digital literacy among farmers and minimal application of modern technology. This condition poses challenges in supporting sustainable agriculture, so technology-based innovation is needed. This study aims to analyze the strengthening of digital literacy in sustainable agriculture through the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in empowering the Sendangsari Millennial Farmer Community. The method used was a mixed method with a questionnaire instrument, pre-test and post-test, and plant growth measurements in IoT-based and manual fields. The results showed a significant increase in participant understanding, marked by a 17.77% increase in post-test scores from the pre-test score of 70.8. The application of IoT in the experimental field also resulted in more optimal growth of tomato, lettuce, and caisim plants compared to manual methods, and increased the confidence of millennial farmers in adopting technology. This study concluded that agricultural digital literacy can be strengthened through socialization, training, and practice of the application of the Internet of Things (IoT). Village institutional support, expanding internet access, and developing the capacity of young farmers are recommended to accelerate the transformation towards sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an infectious disease caused by acute viral infection, namely the dengue virus. Symptoms include fever for 2-7 days, accompanied by signs of bleeding, a decrease in the number of platelets (thrombocytopenia), and plasma leakage characterized by hemoconcentration. The aim of this study is to analyze the factors that most influence the incidence of dengue fever in the city of Semarang. This research uses a case control research design. The case population is all dengue sufferers, while the control population is people who are declared negative for dengue fever through microscopic examination of blood smears. The sample consisted of 2 groups, namely 45 respondents in the case group and 45 respondents in the control group, accompanied by the use of purposive random sampling techniques. The instrument uses a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis used the Chi Square test and Logistic Regression test. The results of the research show that there is a correlation between water storage, level of knowledge, efforts to eradicate mosquito nesting areas, use of anti-mosquito medication and behavior of hanging clothes with dengue cases (p-value < 0.05). Factors that influence the incidence of dengue fever are water storage, level of knowledge, and efforts to eradicate mosquito nests. It is necessary to carry out preventive efforts independently for each family member.

Abstract

Kelengkeng (Dimocarpus longan L.) merupakan komoditas hortikultura penting dengan prospek agribisnis yang tinggi. Keberadaan serangga pada ekosistem kebun kelengkeng dapat memberikan dampak positif maupun negatif, baik sebagai penyerbuk, predator, maupun hama yang merugikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman dan peran ekologis serangga pada perkebunan kelengkeng di Bawen serta menganalisis faktor lingkungan yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode hand collecting dan pitfall trap. Identifikasi serangga dilakukan secara morfologis dengan bantuan perangkat lunak dan pengukuran faktor lingkungan diukur menggunakan termohigrometer dan lux meter. Data dianalisis menggunakan indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-Wiener (H’), kemerataan (E), dan dominansi Simpson (C). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 1.277 individu serangga dari berbagai ordo dengan peran beragam meliputi predator, polinator, herbivora, pengisap cairan tanaman, penggerek, dan detritivor. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman H’ sebesar 1,9611 (kategori sedang), indeks kemerataan E = 0,5214 (sedang), dan dominansi C = 0,2652 (rendah). Faktor lingkungan berupa suhu 25–30℃, kelembaban 66–84%, dan intensitas cahaya 1.017–8.424 lux berada pada kisaran optimum bagi kehidupan serangga. Penelitian ini memberikan informasi dasar mengenai komposisi dan fungsi serangga pada kebun kelengkeng yang dapat digunakan sebagai dasar dalam pengendalian hama terpadu (PHT) serta mendukung keberlanjutan budidaya hortikultura.

Abstract

Perkebunan buah di Bawen, Kabupaten Semarang, Jawa Tengah merupakan kebun buah yang memiliki beragam jenis tanaman di dalamnya, salah satunya tanaman jambu biji merah. Keberhasilan produksi jambu biji merah tidak lepas dari adanya interaksi antara tanaman dan lingkungannya, serangga berperan penting secara langsung bagi tanaman jambu biji merah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman serangga di perkebunan jambu biji merah di Kabupaten Semarang, serta indeks keanekaragaman serangga di dalamnya dan faktor yang mempengaruhi. Penelitian dilakukan pada pukul 06.00 - 10.00 WIB di perkebunan buah jambu biji merah seluas ± 500 m². Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pengamatan langsung, pitfall trap, dan sweep net untuk menangkap serangga. Jumlah kehadiran serangga dicatat untuk menghitung indeks keanekaragaman serangga di perkebunan jambu biji merah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 32 spesies ditemukan dari 7 ordo dan 13 famili yang berfungsi sebagai penyerbuk, predator, dekomposer, dan hama. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H) sebesar 3,127, indeks dominansi (C) 0,424 dan indeks kemerataan (E) 0,913, menunjukkan bahwa kondisi ekosistem stabil dengan distribusi spesies yang relatif merata. Keanekaragaman serangga yang tinggi mendukung keseimbangan ekosistem dan membantu keberlanjutan produksi jambu biji merah melalui peran penyerbuk dan musuh alami hama. Penelitian tentang keanekaragaman serangga sangat penting untuk memahami fungsi ekologisnya, membantu Pengelolaan Hama Terpadu (PHT), meningkatkan produktivitas panen, dan memastikan keberlanjutan lingkungan dan keanekaragaman hayati.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman serangga memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem pertanian, termasuk pada tanaman jeruk siam madu (Citrus nobilis) yang menjadi salah satu komoditas hortikultura unggulan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena serangga tidak hanya sebagai hama, tetapi juga berperan sebagai polinator, predator, parasitoid, dan dekomposer yang mendukung keberlanjutan ekosistem. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis, jumlah, dan peran fungsional serangga yang terdapat pada tanaman jeruk siam madu. Penelitian dilaksanakan di perkebunan jeruk siam madu di Bawen, Kabupaten Semarang selama empat bulan (April–Juli 2025). Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi langsung, sweep net, dan pitfall trap. Dengan identifikasi spesies berdasarkan morfologi, referensi literatur, dan aplikasi pendukung identifikasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan indeks keanekaragaman, indeks kemerataan, dan indeks dominansi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 1.362 individu serangga yang tergolong dalam 6 ordo dan 33 famili. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H’) sebesar 2,1 menunjukkan tingkat keanekaragaman sedang, nilai indeks kemerataan (E) sebesar 0,6 menunjukkan tingkat kemerataan tergolong sedang, dan indeks dominansi (C) sebesar 0,19 menunjukkan tidak ada spesies yang mendominasi secara signifikan. Penelitian ini memberikan informasi penting mengenai keanekaragaman serangga pada tanaman jeruk siam madu. Abstract

Sirsak (Annona muricata L.) merupakan tanaman yang berasal dari Amerika Tengah hingga Amerika Selatan. Sirsak berasal dari bahasa Belanda, yaitu "Zuurzak," yang berarti kantung asam. Budidaya tanaman sirsak tidak terlepas dari kebaradaan serangga. Keanekaragaman serangga berperan penting dalam budidaya sirsak dan dipengaruhi oleh faktor abiotik maupun biotik.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keanekaragaman, kemerataan, dan dominansi serangga pada perkebunan sirsak di Bawen, Kabupaten Semarang, serta mengidentifikasi faktor lingkungan yang memengaruhinya. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan April–Juli 2025 menggunakan metode pitfall trap dan sweep net secara purposive sampling, diikuti identifikasi spesies dan perhitungan indeks Shannon-Wiener, Evenness, dan Simpson. Hasil penelitian mencatat 1.577 individu serangga dari berbagai ordo dengan peran ekologis beragam, termasuk hama, polinator, predator, herbivora, detritivor, dan parasitoid. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman H’ sebesar 3,0638 menunjukkan kategori tinggi, indeks kemerataan E = 0,8305 menunjukkan distribusi individu relatif merata, dan indeks dominansi C = 0,0595 menunjukkan dominansi rendah. Faktor lingkungan seperti suhu 25–30°C, kelembapan 70–85%, dan intensitas cahaya 1.017–8.424 lux berada pada kisaran optimum bagi aktivitas serangga. Penelitian ini menyajikan data kestabilan ekosistem perkebunan sirsak dengan indeks keanekaragaman serangga yang dapat dijadikan dasar pengelolaan budidaya berkelanjutan serta strategi pengendalian hama ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Biotechnology is one of the concepts taught in science learning which is complex and dynamic and has a relationship between the application of science and technology. The application of biotechnology is very beneficial in various aspects of life. The importance of applying biotechnology in life encourages schools to provide learning platforms for students to learn about biotechnology processing properly. However there are still issues with biotechnology processing at partner schools. Specifically, they still don't know how to properly create basic biotechnology learning supplements or process biotechnology products. This inspired the UNNES Postgraduate School service team to assist with training in the creation of basic biotechnology goods at the Al-Hidayah Waqaf Foundation in Hatyai, Thailand, as an addition to instructional resources. This training aims to provide training in making simple biotechnology products so that they can improve educators' skills in packaging supplements for simple biotechnology teaching materials as well as identifying the benefits of apple and pineapple vinegar as well as training skills in making apple and pineapple vinegar correctly. The training method was implemented by providing tools and materials, presenting the material, and providing assistance in the practice of making apple and pineapple vinegar biotechnology. The training has been carried out well. The results of the training can help teachers prepare science learning that is contextual and has an entrepreneurial spirit.

Abstract

The Women Farmers Group in Sampangan, Semarang, Indonesia has managed an urban farming area since 2018, cultivating vegetables, fruits, and medicinal plants. However, they face persistent challenges in controlling plant pests and diseases due to limited knowledge. This community service aimed to enhance their understanding through structured training on sustainable pest and disease control in horticultural crops. The activity involved preparation, implementation, and evaluation phases, with participatory methods including pre-test and post-test evaluations, tutorials, and discussions. The training introduced eco-friendly techniques such as cultural, biological, and mechanical control. The participants showed high enthusiasm during the sessions. Results indicated a 25% increase in knowledge, demonstrating the effectiveness of the training. This program supports SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by promoting sustainable agriculture and empowering women in urban farming practices.

Abstract

Citrus are a horticultural commodity that has high economic value and tends to be liked by many people. In the Bawen area, Semarang Regency, there is a plantation that cultivates various types of orange plants. Many citrus plants have signs of pest attacks that have not yet been identified. This research aims to obtain data related to insect diversity and the level of damage caused by insect pest attacks on citrus plants. This research is an exploratory type of research, using a survey method. The research location was determined using purposive sampling by taking three fields of Siam Honey, Sumowono and Pamello oranges. Insect sampling was carried out using pitfall trap, yellow trap, direct observation and interviews. The results of the study showed that the diversity index was H' = 3.3, honey siam = 3.3, pamello orange (H' = 3.1) and sumowono siam (H' = 2.9). The similarity value of the three types of orange is 0.8 and the dominance is 0.05 (honey siamese), 0.06 (pamello) and 0.07 (sumowono). At the time of research, orange plants were in the generative phase so they could attract more insects. The level of damage due to pest attacks is classified as moderate. The conclusion of this research is that the highest species diversity value is Siam Honey, then Pamello orange and Siam Sumowono, the presence of insects is evenly distributed and no one species dominates. The benefit of this research is to obtain information regarding the diversity of insect types and the level of damage caused by insect pest attacks.

Abstract

Along with changes and developments over time, as well as the rise of national plus schools developed using British and Western systems, Ki Hajar Dewantoro's leadership pattern began to be eroded by the current of change. Many leaders today tend to adhere to leadership references originating from Western cultural philosophy, even though they live and lead within the cultural realm of Javanese society in Indonesia. The impact is that the leadership pattern feels disconnected and underdeveloped. This article aims to discuss analyzing the concept of leadership and character of Ki Hadjar Dewantara in its implications in Indonesian schools. The research method used is qualitative, with an interdisciplinary approach. These methods and approaches are used so that the discussion can be carried out more comprehensively and in depth. The results of this research show that the down-to-earth educational leadership pattern initiated by Ki Hadjar Dewantara is very necessary to build educational character values in Indonesia. These concepts and principles are very necessary, because they are connected to the preservation of Indonesian cultural values which are full of diversity.
