Abstract

This study examines the influence of Learning Management System (LMS)-based training and career development on employee competence at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II Medan. The research addresses the ongoing challenge of improving employee competence despite the implementation of LMS and career development programs. A quantitative research design was used, and data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 123 employees. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied to examine the relationships among variables. The findings reveal that LMS-based training has a significant and dominant effect on employee competence, with greater impact than career development programs. The LMS provides flexibility and accessibility that enhance learning engagement, yet limitations remain, such as the lack of contextual content and alignment with job-specific needs. Career development programs also positively affect competence but show uneven access across employee groups, limiting their full impact. The study concludes that a structured, integrated approach combining LMS training with equitable career development pathways is essential to maximize employee competence. The research highlights the need for organizations to align LMS content with workplace requirements and develop inclusive career strategies. These findings contribute to the human resource development field by offering practical insights for enhancing digital learning systems and career growth in the plantation sector.

Increasing business competition demands that companies manage human resources strategically, particularly through effective talent management and leadership, to enhance employee job satisfaction. This study aims to examine the influence of talent management on job satisfaction with leadership as a moderating variable, and to assess the extent to which leadership strengthens this relationship within the context of a strategic industry. A quantitative approach was applied using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) processed with SPSS version 25. The sample comprised 232 employees of PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda who had participated in talent management programs, possessed more than three years of work experience, and had undergone training. Sampling techniques combined proportionate stratified random sampling and judgment sampling. The findings reveal that both talent management and leadership have a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. Specifically, leadership significantly strengthens the positive influence of talent management on job satisfaction. The study offers a novel contribution by mapping leadership as a social catalyst that reinforces the talent–satisfaction linkage, particularly in strategic industries that require integrated HR management. The research contributes conceptually to the fields of social sciences and humanities, especially in strategic leadership and talent development. Practical implications highlight the need to invest not only in talent programs but also in leadership capacity building.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of organizational culture and organizational commitment on employee performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at PT ABC. The research approach uses a qualitative method by involving 20 employee resource persons selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that a collaborative and open organizational culture and high affective commitment encourage the emergence of employee job satisfaction. Job satisfaction was found to be a significant mediating factor, where satisfied employees tended to demonstrate proactive performance, discipline, and high loyalty. In contrast, dissatisfied employees tend to work to minimum standards. Financial aspects and promotional opportunities emerged as factors that needed to be improved to strengthen overall job satisfaction. In conclusion, organizational culture and organizational commitment have a positive effect on employee performance through job satisfaction as a mediator. The practical implications of this research encourage PT ABC's management to strengthen a culture of innovation, provide recognition, and optimize the compensation system to support sustainable performance.

Abstract

The number of freelancers and start-up companies in Indonesia has increased from year to year, which has led to the emergence of new work styles (new work orders), where this work style has characteristics that are more free, flexible and independent, even the problems that arise are different from the work model in general. This needs to be supported by the availability of a place to work, one of the alternative places to work that is currently developing is coworking space. Even though the development of coworking spaces continues to increase, community participation in coworking spaces in the city of Medan is not yet optimal, and people even tend to equate cafés and coffee shops as coworking spaces. Research was carried out on CoHive at Clapham, Cohub Indonesia, Cradle Event & Coworking Space, SAGA Creative Hub, and Digital Innovation Lounge Medan. The analytical method used in the research is a Likert scale to measuring the opinions and perceptions of a person or group and Multiple Linear Regression to look at the factors that influence person or group using co working space. The reseach results show that Physical environmental factors that influence the productivity of human resources working in Co Working Space are lighting, noise and cleanliness. Non-physical environmental factors that influence the productivity of human resources working in Co Working Space are attention and support from leaders, collaboration between groups, and communication.
