Abstract

The concept of science has the potential to be explored in instilling spiritual values. Competence of a good science teacher is needed to integrate science learning and inculcate spiritual values. This PPM activity aims to provide knowledge and improve the competence of science teachers in presenting science learning activities that focus on cognitive abilities as well as spiritual attitudes. Community service activities (PPM) will be carried out in the form of workshop training involving students and science teachers in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it is known that teachers and students agree on the need for the integration of spiritual values ​​through science learning. The results of the teacher's worksheet show the teacher is able to relate the concept of science to spiritual values of the greatness of God. The teacher can describe the plan for presenting these values ​​in learning activities. Students are very enthusiastic about learning science with spiritual values ​​and students are able to give examples of various phenomena related to the concept of physics and the spiritual values ​​in it. Based on the results of the response questionnaire and working papers, it can be concluded that students and teachers are highly motivated by learning science with spiritual values. After participating in the workshop, the teacher can integrate spiritual values ​​into basic competencies in science learning. Students are able to mention spiritual values ​​in various phenomena related to scientific concepts.

Abstract

This research integrates landslide disaster mitigation into physics education, with a focus on environmental pollution and alternative energy for high school students. The research aims to address the frequent landslides in Indonesia, particularly in Central Bengkulu Regency, which can cause significant disruptions. The objective is to develop a model for integrating disaster mitigation into physics education at MAN Insan Cendekia Central Bengkulu. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D model, limited to the design stage. The research subjects were students in class XI-1 specializing in Physics at MAN Insan Cendekia. The analysis of disaster potential in Central Bengkulu indicates a need for disaster mitigation education. The Butterfly Webbed Concept Map was developed to integrate physics material with disaster mitigation education. It provides a visual representation of the relationship between environmental pollution, alternative energy, resource utilization, and landslide disaster mitigation. This integration can be applied in physics learning for disaster risk awareness for students.

Abstract

Cuora amboinensis merupakan salah satu spesies kura-kura yang memiliki empat jenis subspesies di Asia, antara lain C. a. amboinensis, C. a. couro, C. a. kamaroma, C. a. lineata. Keempat subspesies tersebut tersebar di Asia Tenggara dan Asia Timur. Cuora a. Couro, yang merupakan salah satu subspesies yang hidup di Sumatera. C. amboinensis merupakan salah satu spesies kura-kura terancam punah yang termasuk dalam Appendix II berdasarkan CITES dan IUCN. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adaptasi perilaku C. amboinensis pada kawasan habitat buatan di konservasi ex-situ Universitas Bengkulu. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan 16 individu (6 jantan dan 10 betina). Durasi penelitian adalah 35 hari (September - Oktober 2023) dengan waktu observasi (pagi, siang, sore, dan malam). Data kualitatif dan kuantitatif perilaku, data kualitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif dan data kuantitatif dianalisis dengan persentase rata-rata perilaku harian C. amboinensis. Hasil pengamatan ditemukan/teridentifkasi enam perilaku yang terdiri dari makan, istirahat, berjemur, kawin, berenang atau berendam, dan agresi dalam mempertahankan wilayah. Suhu lingkungan berkisar 270C - 34,50C dan intensitas cahaya berkisar 166-892. Perilaku kura-kura yang sering muncul yaitu makan, istirahat/berdiam diri di area kolam tertutup, dan berenang/berendam pada kondisi suhu lingkungan tinggi. Perilaku C. amboinensis di area konservasi sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lingkungan baik di darat maupun di air.

Abstract

Waste from male banana peels (Musa paradisiaca Var. Paradisiaca), Ambon banana peels (Musa paradisiaca Var. Sapientum), and kepok banana peels (Musa acuminate L.) can be used as natural water filtration. The content of pectin, galacturonic acid and cellulose in banana peels can absorb heavy metals in water. This research aims to determine the filtration ability of natural waste materials such as kepok banana peels, Ambon banana peels and male banana peels which are most effectively used as water filtration media. This research consists of the sample preparation stage, carbonization stage, activation stage, and trial stage. The method used is an experimental method on a laboratory scale to measure Potential Hydrogen (pH), Total Dissolve Solid (TDS), and the level of clarity in water. The data obtained was tested using the Anova test with a significance level of 5% and the BNT test. Based on the BNT test which shows that male banana peels are not significantly proportional to the TDS of well water. Meanwhile, Ambon banana peel and Kepok banana peel are significantly proportional to TDS, and for Kepok banana peel, Ambon banana peel and male banana peel, it is significantly proportional to the pH of well water, because the significance results are less than 0.05%. From these findings it can be concluded that Kepok banana peels and Ambon banana peels are the most effective water filtration media to use.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD berbasis POE2WE pada materi Bioteknologi bagipeserta didik tingkat SMP. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Reseach and Developmnet dengan model 4D (Define, Design,Develop, Disseminate) dan hanya dibatasi pada 3D atau hanya pada tahap Develop saja. Teknik pengumpulan datapenilitian ini yaitu observasi, wawancara dan angket. Teknik analisis data LKPD ini dianalisis secara deskriptif. Ujivalidasi LKPD meliputi aspek materi, penyajian tampilan, dan bahasa yang dilakukan oleh dua validator dan duapraktisi. Hasil uji validasi LKPD yang dilakukan terhadap validator ahli dan praktisi memperoleh persentase rata-rata92,5%. Dan dari hasil respon yang telah dilakukan terhadap 10 peserta didik SMP Negeri 21 Bengkulu Utaramendapat rerata persentase skor sebesar 93.75%. Dapat disimpulkan bahan LKPD berbasis POE2WE (Prediction,Observation, Explanation, Elaboration, Write, Evaluation) pada materi Bioteknologi ini sangat layak untuk digunakansebagai bahan belajar siswa.Kata kunci : LKPD, POE2WE, bioteknologiABSTRACTThis research aims to develop POE2WE-based LKPD on Biotechnology material for junior high school students. And from the response thathas been carried out to 10 students of SMP Negeri 21 Bengkulu Utaragot an average percentage score of 93.75%. Abstract

This study aims to develop ethnoscience-oriented science learning e-modules on sound waves of musical instruments improve the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in Bengkulu City. The research method used is R&D with the ADDIE model which are Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation , and Evaluation. This research was conducted on 33 students of eighth grade junior high school 2 Bengkulu City by using pretest-posttest design method. The results showed that: 1) Students stated that it is necessary to develop ethnoscience electronic modules (e-modules) to improve critical thinking skills in science learning. 2) The results of expert and practitioner validation of e-module feasibility instruments consist of four aspects, namely aspects of graphics, media aspects, language feasibility aspects, presentation feasibility aspects, and content feasibility aspects were declared feasible with an average percentage of 87.20% 3) The results of expert and practitioner validation of critical thinking skills instruments consisting of elementary clarification, basic support, inference, providing advance clarification, and organizing strategies and tactics were declared feasible with an average percentage of 93.33% . 4) There is an increase in students' critical thinking skills after using e-modules with a moderate category and a significance value of <0.05 is obtained, meaning that there is a significant effect with the use of sound wave ethnoscience e-modules in improving students' critical thinking skills.5) Students' response to the sound wave ethnoscience e-modules developed in the science learning process reached a percentage of 90.79%. with a very good category.

Abstract

The Southeast Asian box turtle, Cuora amboinensis, known locally as the “Batok Turtle” is one of the world's most endangered turtle species. Conservation is needed to protect this species from the threat of extinction. Conservation efforts are complex and involve multiple scientific disciplines. This research was conducted in the Ex-situ Conservation area of ​​Bengkulu University, to determine the morphometric variations of adult C. amboinensis and determine the differences between males and females based on body size as a conservation effort. The research subjects were 20 adults (8 men and 12 women) of C. amboinensis. Several morphometric measurements that have been carried out include head width, carapace length, carapace width, curved carapace length, curved carapace width, carapace height, plastron length, plastron width, length of the midline on all plastron scales (sugar, humerus, pectoral, abdominal, femoral and anal), tail length, tail thickness, and body weight. Next, a t test was carried out to determine the morphometric characteristics of male and female C. amboinensis. The results of the analysis show that there are significant differences. C. amboinensis males have greater carapace length, tail length and tail thickness than females. C. amboinensis females have greater carapace height and humeral scale diameter than males.

Abstract

Heavy metals are poisonous materials capable of causing damage to the normal aquatic organisms in the community around the Ketahun River estuary. The entry of heavy metals into the waters of the Ketahun River estuary is allegedly from various activities such as bathing, washing, toilet use, palm oil plantations, coal mining, and the disposal of gold mine waste. This is the background for conducting research to analyze the content of Hg, Cd, Pb, and As in Litopenaeus vannamei in the Ketahun River estuary. The determination of sampling locations was done using a purposive method, and the samples were tested using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). The ecology of the river estuary was measured using a thermometer, pH meter, Dissolved Oxygen Meter, and Total Dissolved Solid Meter. The research results were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. According to the findings of the study, the metal content in Litopenaeus vannamei exceeds the quality standard with an analysis result of 0.2328 mg/kg, while the quality standard is 0.20 mg/kg, which has health implications. For sediment, the heavy metal that exceeds the quality standard is mercury at 0.5921 mg/kg, while the quality standard is 0.15 mg/kg. The ecology of the river estuary continues to be an ideal environment for living biota.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' needs for teaching materials in disaster mitigation learning. This research method uses quantitative descriptive research. Then analyzed and described to answer the existing problems. The subjects of the study were 53 students of the Science Education study program, University of Bengkulu, semester V. The instrument used was a questionnaire, with 3 aspects (disaster mitigation, teaching materials and learning process) and 24 questions. The results of the analysis showed that 95% of students chose the need for education about natural disaster mitigation. 11% of students did not know the Evacuation Location (gathering point) for the earthquake disaster at the University of Bengkulu and 22% of students did not know the flow map showing evacuation signs at the University of Bengkulu, so teaching materials that contain this are needed. The teaching materials needed by students are interactive and easy-to-use teaching materials, the contents of the material are clearly described in accordance with the facts in life, teaching materials that are audio-visual based (there are videos and animations), equipped with things that need to be considered in disaster mitigation and have a suitable color combination.

Abstract

Makroinvertebrata merupakan organisme tidak bertulang belakang yang memiliki ukuran kasat mata, memiliki habitat di darat, dalam  tanah, perairan meliputi air laut dan tawar. Kelompok makroinvertebrata di perairan bisa dijadikan bioindikator suatu perairan. Makroinvertebrata di perairan air tawar contohnya kelompok keong air tawar, serangga air, udang dan Clitellata seperti lintah. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2023 sampai Januari 2024 menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan leaf litter bags, jaring seser, dan mengambil sedimen dasar perairan menggunakan ember. Pengukuran parameter lingkungan dilakukan meliputi pengukuran intensitas cahaya, suhu air, tingkat keasaman (pH), oksigen terlarut (DO), kedalaman lumpur, dan kedalaman air. Analisis data menggunakan indeks Shannon-Wiener, indeks Eveness dan indeks Simpson. Hasil identifikasi makroinvertebrata menunjukkan terdapat 16 spesies terdiri atas 13 famili dan 4 kelas. Indeks keanekaragaman makroinvertebrata di area kolam konservasi ex-situ kura-kura Siebenrockiella crassicollis Universitas Bengkulu secara umum tekanan ekologis berada pada kondisi tekanan rendah hingga sedang, dapat dilihat pada nilai H’ berkisar antara 0,981 sampai 1,577, indeks keseragaman berkisar antara 0,354 sampai 0,569 dan indeks dominansi berkisar antara 0,342 sampai 0,506. Kelimpahan, keanekaragaman, keseragaman dan dominansi makroinvertebrata dipengaruhi oleh parameter fisika kimia dan kondisi lingkungan.
