Efforts to regenerate agricultural Human Resources (HR) have seen the potential of Islamic boarding schools as a space for regeneration as a provider space. Agricultural education and training for santri is a breakthrough in efforts to develop santri and develop the regeneration of human resources so that they are interested in the agricultural sector. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence students' interest in business in the agricultural sector, especially horticulture cultivation at the Al Kautsar 561 Islamic Boarding School, Tasikmalaya Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with correlational methods (multiple linear regression) and descriptive methods. This research used a survey method with tools in the form of questionnaires on 48 santri’s. The results of the research show that internal and external factors as well as students' interest in horticultural farming are in the high category. Then, internal factors and external factors of students have a significant influence on students' interest in horticultural farming at the Al Kautsar 561 Islamic Boarding School, Tasikmalaya Regency. This shows that the higher the value of the students' internal and external factors, the higher the students' interest in horticultural farming. Therefore, it is hoped that the development of regeneration of agricultural human resources through Islamic boarding schools will be in line with improving the quality of Islamic boarding school students' human resources so that it will have implications for high interest in the world of agriculture, especially horticulture.

Abstract

Guava Crystal variety currently has the high opportunity and potential to be developed in Indonesia. Waaida Farm as a company engaged in crystal guava farming in  Sumedang District can only meet 5,71% of its demand every year. Therefore, Waaida Farm needs to expand the cultivation area to optimize the crystal guava potential. The expansion is constrained by lack of capital. Crystal guava farming in Waaida Farm is not bankable yet eventhough the business has run for six years. The objective of this research is to analyze financial feasibility of crystal guava farming at Waaida Farm. The research was conducted using qualitative descriptive design and case study technique. The data collection methods usedwere observation, interview and study literature. From the  financial aspect, crystal guava farming at Waaida Farm is feasible to be implemented, based on the investment criteria using interest rate of 18,75%. The NPV is Rp 5.982.165, IRR is over the established interest rate of 28,43%, Net B/C is 1,59, and payback period is 5 years, shorter than the project term analysis of 10 years. The sensitivity analysis showed that decreasing inproduction is more sensitive than increasing inproduction cost. Nevertheless, the 10 percentchange of every variable still make the crystal guava farming feasible.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of the Farmer Food Corporations (KPP) in Ciamis Regency, providing services ranging from production facilities to facilitating credit capital applications. This farmer corporatization program benefits farmers by increasing their income, thus necessitating the sustainability of PT. XYZ. Therefore, it is crucial to examine the effectiveness of the PT. XYZ program, its sustainability level, and the impact of its effectiveness on business sustainability. This study employs an integrated (mixed method) approach with a dominant quantitative design. The population comprises rice farmers who are members of the Farmer Food Corporation in Ciamis Regency under PT. XYZ. A sample size of 51 respondents was selected using a simple random sampling method to ensure equal representation. The effectiveness of the PT. XYZ program was analyzed descriptively through a descriptive statistical analysis approach, and the Partial Least Square (PLS) Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis was performed to understand the influence of program effectiveness on PT. XYZ's business sustainability. The research results indicate that all variables influence the effectiveness of the PT. XYZ programs are constructed by real manifests, with contributions ranging from medium to high. The five manifest variables constructing effectiveness are program objectives, real change, program socialization, precision, and monitoring. The sustainability variable is constructed by market, workplace, environment, and community variables. The program's effectiveness has a significant influence on PT. XYZ's business sustainability. In conclusion, the PT. XYZ program effectively enhances farmers' income and contributes significantly to the sustainability of PT. XYZ's business. Continuous improvement in program implementation and monitoring is essential to maintain and enhance these benefits.

Abstract

Abstract

This potato production can be personally profitable for farmers, with high demand farmers can have high profits by carrying out potato production and becoming a supplier of potato supplies. However, there is a decrease in harvested area in West Java Province, this indicates that there are problems in technical and agricultural input in potato farming in West Java Province. The aim of this research is to compare farmer characteristics and potato farming inputs between Bandung and Garut Regencies. The research method used is descriptive statistics using parametric statistical testing tools and crosstabs. The population in this study were potato farmers in Bandung and Garut Regencies with respondents respectively 382 Potato Farmers in Bandung Regency and 118 Potato Farmers in Garut Regency, with the selection of respondents using a two-stage stratified sampling technique. The results of the research show that the majority of potato farmers in Bandung have elementary school education, new experience, young age, high capital, medium land, seeds ≤0.5 kg, labor 1001 – 1500 hok, fertilizer ≤ 2 kg, pesticide <0.05 liters, and other costs <0.5 million. Meanwhile, in Garut the level of education is elementary school, experience, old age, moderate capital, land ≥ 2.0 ha, seeds > 1.5 kg. labor >1500 hok, fertilizer >6.0 kg, pesticide 0.05 – 0.1 liter, and other costs 1.0 – 1.99 million. Then, there are real differences in farmer characteristics and potato farming inputs between Bandung and Garut Regencies. Key-words: comparative study, farmer characteristics, farming inputs, potatoes.
