Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengamati stabilitas ekspresi protein AdhF36 Salmonella typhi pada perlakuan osmolaritas dan pH dengan metode eksperimen laboratorium-eksploratif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perbedaan ekspresi protein AdhF36 Salmonella typhi pada perlakuan osmolaritas dengan pH. Hasil SDS-PAGE menunjukkan bahwa pita protein AdhF36 tetap terekspresi pada perlakuan osmolaritas 50-350 mM, sebaliknya pita protein ini tidak terdeteksi pada perlakuan pH 4,5-6,0. Hal ini didukung oleh hasil uji Western Blot yang berhasil mendeteksi protein AdhF36 hanya pada perlakuan osmolaritas. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa Salmonella typhi lebih toleran terhadap perubahan osmolaritas dibandingkan dengan pH.

Abstract

The study aimed, to describe the difference of students’ learning outcomes of (1) cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) and direct instruction on biology subject, (2) describe the different of critical thinking high level and the lowest by student learning outcomes. This study using quasi experiment. All students in grade 10 who enrolled 2013-2014 would become research subject. The sample of this research consisted of two classes: X MIA5 and X MIA6. The results showed that the comparison between the two learning models can be seen with the magnitude of the significant probability value < 0.05. There is also a difference between the learning outcomes of students who have highest critical thinking skills with students who have the lowest, where the average of each value 55.63 and 38.42 or significant probability value < = 0.05. It could be concluded, that the student who have the highest critical-thinking skills were taught by using both learning models was better learning-outcomes than the lowest.

Abstract

The research was aimed to describing the influence of Jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique on the learning achievement for biology subject at grade X, and than to describing the influence of Jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique simultaneosly on the learning achievement. The research was quantitative with quasi- experimental design. Population in this research were all students in grade X SMAN 3 Poso which consists of 8 study groups. Research sample that is graders XD and XH, taken with random probabiliy sampling. Research data were obtained from the student achievement, and were analized by t-test was followed by ANOVA test with SPSS 20. The result of the research showed that there was a significant influence jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique on the learning achievement for biology subject, and there is significant influence of Jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique simultaneosly against on the learning achievement for biology subject. The Conclusion of this research that there is significant influence of jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique on the learning achievement for biology subject at grade Xof class X SMAN 3 Poso.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the student’s interest and critical thinking skills of the twelfth grade students of IPA at SMAN 1 Sindue through the application of problem based learning and project based learning. The study was conducted using an experimental method of pre-experimental design used one shot case study. The samples of this study were 34 students of class XII IPA 1 and 34 students of class XII IPA 2. The instrument used was student’s questionnaire test, assessment sheets of critical thinking, and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, the results are: through the application of problem-based learning and project-based learning of the twelfth grade students of SMAN 1 Sindue the student’s interest in learning was categorized as high. This is supported by the results of the research. There is no significant difference between the students' interestt who taught by using problem-based learning and project based learning. Both learning models are effectively contributes to increase student’s critical thinking skills with the result that there are significant differences between students' critical thinking skills of the twelfth grade students of IPA 1 and IPA 2 although both the mentioned group was categorized in the level of critical thinking.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the second semester the SDN Negeri.2 Labuan school year 2013/2014. Problems in research is (1) whether there is a revision component in the development of lesson plan, teacher reference books, through 4D models in the discussion of damage to the natural environment learning model jigsaw The Elementary School fifth grade students Labuan?; (2) What factors are revised in the development of lesson plans, teacher reference books, by using 4D procedure in the discussion of damage to the natural environment through the model jigsaw in Elementary School fifth grade students Labuan?: This research purposes determine the components in the learning device gets priority for repair or revised so understanding the concept of matter damage to the natural environment in the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Labuan can be increased. This type of research is the development of research, concluded that the lesson plan well designed and using the right approach will be very effective in improving outcomes and learning activities of students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of aloe vera extract (Aloe vera L.) against Colletotrichum capsici fungus and determine the optimal concentration of aloe vera extract that effectively inhibits the growth  of Colletotrichum capsici fungus and is used as a learning medium. This study used a laboratory experiment method using a Complete Random Design (RAL) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatment consisted of a concentration of 0% as a negative control, a concentration of aloe vera extract of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The observed parameter is the diameter of the formed inhibition zone. The results of the study used Variant Analysis (ANOVA) and continued with the smallest real difference (BNT) test. The results showed that the administration of aloe vera extract (Aloe vera L.) could inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum capsici fungus at a maximum concentration of 100%. The higher the concentration of aloe vera extract, the higher its ability to inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum capsici fungus. The results of this study are feasible to be implemented in the form of  a digital flipbook as a learning medium with a feasibility of 83.2%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of Case Based Learning model on students' science process skills in ecosystem learning at SMAN 4 Sigi. This research is quantitative research using experimental methods. The population in this study were all students in the class. The research sample consisted of 50 students consisting of one experimental group and one control group. Data The data collection technique used student science process skills test instruments. The results showed that the significance value in the experimental class was 65.33, while in the control class it was 56.33 with a difference between the two of 9, including in the high category. Therefore, it can be concluded that: the case-based learning model affects students' science process skills on ecosystem material at SMAN 4 Sigi. These findings have several important implications for learning practices and education policy. Where, the implementation of CBL model is proven to be effective in improving students' science process skills. This shows that the case-based learning approach can facilitate a deeper and more applicable understanding of science concepts and encourage students to think critically and analytically. This approach allows students to be more actively involved in the learning process, increasing their participation and providing opportunities to apply their knowledge in relevant real-life situations. In addition, the findings also suggest that case-based teaching can be an effective tool in preparing students for future challenges. Thus, the integration of CBL models in the science learning curriculum can help students develop these skills early on.

Abstract

By implementing an effective learning model and packaging it using interesting technological media, it is also hoped that it will be able to improve student learning outcomes. As for the aim of this research is to determine the application of the model Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by learning videos and Quizizz to improve student learning outcomes. This research is classroom action research using test and observation methods. The subjects of this research were 25 students of class VII G of SMP Negeri 6 Kintamani. Data collection was carried out using test and observation methods during learning activities. The research results show that it was found that there was a significant increase in the average score of students' mathematics learning outcomes. Initially in the first cycle the average student score was 66,8 which is categorized as poor in Cycle I, to 77.2 in Cycle II which is already in the good category with an increase of 10.4. Furthermore, there were 60% of students who scored above the Learning Goal Achievement Criteria (KKTP) in Cycle I and 84% of students in Cycle II with an increase of 24%. Thus, student learning outcomes have improved by using the learning model Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by learning videos and Quizizz.

Abstract

The ability of students to think creatively and collaboratively is not optimal because the learning atmosphere is not interactive and lacks variety in the use of learning media. This research aims to develop interactive e-module learning media based on flip-pdf-professional that can improve students' creative thinking skills and collaborative skills. The method used in research is research and development with a 4D development model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). Data were collected using observation, interview, questionnaire, and test methods. Descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that the flip-pdf-professional-based interactive E-module product is valid and very practical to use in biology learning in senior high school. The E-module product developed is quite effective in improving students' creative thinking skills and collaborative skills in biology learning. Research on the development of interactive e-modules based on flip-pdf-professional is more practical for teachers to use in learning and helps students with independent learning.

Abstract

The community in RT.05/RW.13, Tondo Village, Mantikulore District, Palu City, shows a low level of awareness in maintaining environmental cleanliness, particularly in managing household waste. This condition contributes to the spread of pathogenic bacteria through cockroach vectors (Periplaneta americana), which can cause various diseases. This community service program aimed to enhance public health literacy regarding environmental cleanliness, the resistance of endogenous bacteria carried by cockroaches, and to establish the sustainability of environmental health literacy. The program applied the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, consisting of four stages: to know, to plan, to act, and to change. The program involved 24 residents of RT.05/RW.13 and was conducted on July 26-27 and August 3-5, 2024. Results indicated an improvement in public understanding, with questionnaire results showing an 84% score categorized as good. Additionally, an educational poster about the dangers of cockroaches as disease vectors and their bacterial resistance was developed and installed in the community area. This increase in health literacy is expected to motivate behavioral changes among residents in maintaining environmental cleanliness, ultimately supporting the creation of a healthier environment
