Abstract

Desa Poly merupakan daerah yang cukup subur kaya akan unsur-unsur hara sehingga mayoritas masyarakat menjadikan sebagai lahan pertanian & perkebunan. Namun, kebanyakan masarakat Desa Poly menganggap bahwa serangga tanah merupakan hama yang dapat merusak tanaman yang ada di perkebunan mereka.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman serangga permukaan tanah yang ada di Desa Poly Kabupaten Parigi Moutong Serta dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media pembelajaran dalam bentuk buku saku. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh jenis serangga permukaan tanah yang terdapat di Desa Poly Kabupaten Parigi Moutong. Menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan perangkap sumuran (pithfall trap). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang di lakukan di Desa Poly Kabupaten Parigi Moutong di temukan 15 jenis serangga permukaan tanah dari 10 famili dan 8 ordo dengan tingkat keanekaragam tergolong sedang berdasarkan perhitungan persamaan Shannon-Weiner dengan nilai rata-rata 2,12. Memiliki tingkat keanekaragaannya 2,12 (sedang) dan penilaian media pembelajaran buku saku oleh validator ahli isi memperoleh nilai sebesar 82% ahli desain 69% dan ahli media 60% oleh mahasiswa sebesar 85,88% Skor yang diberikan oleh penilai, dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku saku layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

Kacang merah merupakan salah satu tanaman kacang-kacangan (Leguminoceae) yang tergolong dalam famili Fabaceae yaitu tanaman yang berkayu dan tidak memiliki duri pada batangnya. Naungan adalah lindungan atau tempat berlindung, dalam artian kata tersebut naungan pada konteks pertanian dapat diartikan sebagain tempat berlindung atau suatu yang dapat melindungi tanaman dari sinar matahari yang berlebihan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pengaruh naungan plastik berbeda warna terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman kacang merah sebagai sumber belajar biologi dalam bentuk penuntun praktikum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan analisis data menggunakan Anava dengan software SPSS kemudian di lanjutkan dengan uji BNT. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh naungan plastik berbeda warna terhadap pertumbuhan meliputi tinggi tanaman, warna daun, jumlah daun dan lebar daun. Hasil yang memberi pengaruh berbeda nyata terhadap naungan plastik yaitu warna plastik transparan. Hasil uji kelayakan penuntun praktikum sangat layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar.

Abstract

Burung gosong Filipina (Megapodius cumingii) merupakan anggota dari famili megapodiidae yang saat ini dikelompokkan dalam status least concern. Jumlah populasi yang terbatas dan ancaman kepunahan membuat burung ini perlu mendapatkan perhatian khusus. Untuk mendukung tindakan konservasi, diperlukan informasi genetik satwa di habitat alami. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk medeskripsikan karakter genetik burung gosong Filipina berdasarkan gen RDP1. Sampel darah diperoleh dari Pulau Kabetan, isolasi DNA genom menggunakan protokol Qiamp DNA Blood Mini Kit, amplifikasi menggunakan protokol Takara Ex Taq dan sekuensing mengikuti protokol BigDye® Terminator v3.1 Cycle Sequencing Kit instrument AB1 PRISM 3100 Avant Genetic Analyzers. Alignment menggunakan clustal W yang ada pada MEGA 10. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi optimal amplifikasi terjadi pada suhu pre-denaturasi 950 C selama 5 menit, denaturasi di suhu 940C selama 35 detik, annealing di suhu 520C, ekstensi di suhu 720C selama 30 detik dan final ekstensi di suhu 720 C selama 7 menit. Komposisi basa kaya pasangan G-C dengan frekuensi T(U) 25,5%, C 25,6 %, A 19,3%, dan G 29,7 %. Analisis mutasi genetik menunjukkan terjadi mutasi transversi pada basa ke 569.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between diet and physical activity with the nutritional status of students of SMP Negeri 19 Palu. This study used a cross sectional design with a quantitative approach and analytic observational type. The subjects were 77 students of class VIII (aged 13-15 years) who were selected using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using FFQ (Food frequency Questionnaire) to assess diet and APARQ (Adolescent physical Activity Recall Questionnaire) for physical activity, both validated instruments from previous studies. As well as anthropometric measurements (height and weight) using the Body Mass Index (BMI) to determine nutritional status. The results of the analysis using the chi-square test showed that there was a significant relationship between diet and nutritional status (χ²(3) = 8.772; p = 0.032), and between physical activity and nutritional status (χ²(4) = 9.919; p = 0.042) Respondents with a good diet and moderate to vigorous physical activity tended to have normal nutritional status, while poor diet and light physical activity were more common among students with abnormal nutritional status. These findings suggest that diet and physical activity play an important role in determining the nutritional status of adolescents. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of educational intervention programs in the school environment to support healthy lifestyles and prevent nutritional problems among students.

Abstract

The low science literacy and critical thinking skills of Indonesian students as shown by the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) are an important background for this research. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of technology-based inquiry learning models in improving students' critical thinking skills and science literacy. The research was conducted in three madrassas using a pseudo-experimental design involving three treatment groups, namely guided inquiry, independent inquiry, and modified inquiry. The subjects of the study were madrasah students who were selected purposively. The instruments used include science literacy tests, critical thinking tests, student worksheets, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using t-test and ANOVA to test the effectiveness between treatment groups. The results of the study show that the technology-based inquiry learning model significantly improves students' critical thinking skills and science literacy. The group with the modified inquiry model showed the most optimal results compared to the other groups. These findings suggest that the integration of technology in inquiry learning has the potential to improve students' higher-level thinking skills and science literacy. This study concludes that the application of technology-based inquiry models is very effective, especially in learning biology on complex materials such as Archaebacteria. The implication of this research is the importance of developing an inquiry-based curriculum supported by technology to support 21st century skills and improve the quality of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the interspecies phylogenetic relationships of parrotfish (Scarus spp.) in Labean Village, Donggala Regency. The research employed an exploratory descriptive method conducted from October 2024 to March 2025. Samples were collected using a purposive sampling technique, with fishing lines and nets as the primary capture tools. The collected specimens were then identified and subjected to morphological measurements, including morphometric, meristic, and qualitative characters. Phylogenetic analysis was carried out using MVSP software with the simple matching coefficient method and UPGMA algorithm. The results revealed six identified parrotfish species: Scarus rivulatus, Scarus ovifrons, Scarus niger, Scarus tricolor, Scarus sordidus, and Scarus quoyi. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that Scarus rivulatus and Scarus quoyi exhibited the closest relationship (similarity index 0.912), whereas the most distant relationship was observed between node 4 and Scarus sordidus (similarity index 0.376). Morphological characters proved to be relatively stable in determining interspecies phylogenetic relationships among parrotfish. Therefore, the findings of this study are expected to contribute to parrotfish conservation efforts and serve as a reference for future research.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the kinship relationship of baronang fish species, based on morphological character analysis. The approach used is descriptive explorative. Research samples were obtained from the sea waters of Labean Village, Donggala Regency using purposive sampling techniques. The obtained baronang fish were then identified and measured based on 21 morphometric characters, 5 meristic characters, and 4 qualitative characters in each of the six species found. Data is processed using Microsoft Excel then analyzed using cluster analysis on MVSP (Multivariate Statistical Package) software. The similarity index uses the Simple Matching Coefficient method, the reconstruction of the dendogram using the UPGMA algorithm. The results of this research found six species of baronang fish, namely: Siganus canaliculatus, Siganus doliatus, Siganus vulpinus, Siganus vermiculatus, Siganus guttatus, and Siganus puellus. The kinship relationship between six types of baronang fish is formed into five clusters with various kinship categories, namely very close, close, and not close. The first cluster shows a very close kinship occupied by Siganus canaliculatus with Siganus doliatus with a similarity index of 0.93%. Meanwhile, the fifth cluster that shows not close kinship is the grouping between fish species on Node 4 with fish species on Node 3 with a similarity index of 0.43%. The results of this research, are expected to be the basis for further research related to kinship or the development of baronang fish species in Labean Village, Donggala Regency.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi siswa tentang keterampilan mengajar guru IPA. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskritif kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII dan VIII yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar angket untuk siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai persepsi siswa terhadap keterampilan mengajar guru IPA itu sebanyak 47% dengan kategori sangat baik, selanjutnya kategori baik persentasenya 38% dan kategori cukup yaitu 15%. Kemudian data hasil identifikasi penggunaan keterampilan mengajar guru IPA di SMP Negeri 7 Palu dalam kategori cukup terutama keterampilan membuka dan menutup pembelajaran memiliki nilai persentase 56%, keterampilan menjelaskan 56%, keterampilan bertanya 54%, keterampilan mengadakan variasi 56%, keterampilan memberikan penguatan 52%, keterampilan mengelola kelas 49%, keterampilan membimbing diskusi kelompok kecil 56% dan keterampilan mengajar kelompok kecil dan perorangan memiliki 50%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan meskipun sebagian besar siswa memberikan persepsi positif, namun beberapa aspek keterampilan mengajar guru yang perlu ditingkatkan, terutama dalam pengelolaan kelas dan mengajar kelompok kecil maupun perorangan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya berkelanjutan dalam bentuk pelatihan, supervisi, dan pembinaan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru IPA dalam menerapkan keterampilan mengajar yang efektif dan menyeluruh.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of fungi and bacteria that play a role in the fermentation process of cocoa beans. This type of research uses an exploratory laboratory method. The samples in this study were fungi and bacteria during the fermentation process of cocoa beans that had been fermented for approximately 3-5 days. The tools used in this study were digital scales, clear plastic boxes, autoclaves, scissors, micropipettes, spoons, label paper, Petri dishes, incubators, glass covers, Bunsen burners, Erlenmeyer flasks, inoculation needles, stirring rods, microscopes, beakers, measuring cups, scales, hot plates, test tubes, spirit lamp, colony counter, aluminum foil, camera, and writing instruments. The materials used in this study were fermented cocoa bean waste samples colonized by fungi and bacteria, Nutrient Agar (NA) medium, Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA) medium, Bacillus Agar Base, distilled water, crystal violet, eosin dye, iodine, alcohol, and safranin. There are five stages in this research procedure, namely sample collection and preparation, media preparation and sample dilution, sample cultivation on general and selective media, Gram staining, and biochemical testing. The results of this study show that the fungi Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Mucor Sp, as well as the bacteria Bacilllus Sp, are involved in the fermentation process of cacao beans.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the variation in haplotype distribution and phylogenetic relationships of the Philippine scrub fowl based on the EEF2 gene. Eggshell samples were obtained from Tolitoli and Luwuk, Central Sulawesi. DNA isolation followed the gSYNCTM Extraction Kit protocol, and the amplification process was carried out in 38 cycles, including the pre-denaturation stage (95°C, 5 minutes), denaturation stage (95°C, 45 seconds), annealing stage (53°C, 40 seconds), elongation stage (72°C, 1 minute), and post-elongation stage (72°C, 10 minutes), followed by sequencing. Sequence editing was performed using GeneStudio, sequence alignment and phylogenetic tree reconstruction using MEGA 11, and haplotype network reconstruction using DnaSP and PopART. The results showed that the haplotype network based on the EEF2 gene formed three haplotypes, with the population from Tolitoli having a widespread haplotype, while the population from Luwuk had a specific haplotype. In addition, based on the results of phylogenetic tree reconstruction, it was found that the Philippine white-eye birds from Tolitoli and Luwuk were in the same clade but there was genetic variation between populations.
