Abstract

This study aims to identify the parenting styles applied to juvenile offenders in Indonesia, analyze the social, economic, and cultural factors influencing these parenting styles, and explain the relationship between parenting styles and children's tendencies to commit crimes. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation from several families with juvenile offenders. Data analysis was performed using a descriptive qualitative approach to reveal patterns and relationships among variables. The findings indicate that authoritarian and permissive parenting styles dominate among families of juvenile offenders. The authoritarian parenting style, characterized by strict control and a lack of affection, contributes to aggressive behavior and a tendency to rebel. In contrast, the permissive parenting style, which grants excessive freedom to children, tends to result in uncontrolled behavior and rule-breaking. Socio-economic factors, such as financial pressures, as well as cultural values, also influence these suboptimal parenting styles. This study concludes that there is a need for intervention in the form of parenting education programs and social support for vulnerable families to prevent children's involvement in criminal activities.

Terrorism emerged as serious security problem inIndonesia since a network of terrorist group rockedthis country, started from the Bali bombing (2002)followed by other consecutive bombings, such as, J.W. Marriott Hotel bombing (2003), the AustralianEmbassy bombing (2004), and the Ritz Carlton Hotelbombing (2009). This article attempts to examinethe ways in which the government responded towardsthe problem. What sort of policies did theIndonesian government take to respond to terrorismduring the 2002—2009 period? This study uses aqualitative research method. The data used in thisresearch are derived from official documents, directinterviews with government officials and the secondarysources (books and journals) on terrorism andcounterterrorism. This article shows that the governmentadopted the legal approach or law-enforcement(“hard approach”) by issuing the anti-terrorismlaw as a legal framework and by reorganizingthe police force to strengthen its counter-terroristcapability. It also adopted an “ideological” approach(soft approach) to battle religious extremism. Thissort of approach is mainly aimed at defusing andneutralizing the religious extremism of terrorist groupsand preventing it from spreading into the wider community. This article shows that the government hasused effectively both approaches in destroying problemof terrorism in Indonesia.Key Words: Indonesia, policy, terrorism, counterterrorism, legal approach, “ideological”approach.

Secondly, symbolic politics involves using symbols and stories to influence public opinion and policy through various campaigns and slogans on social media. Third, leverage politics was used to pressure the Pakistani government through documentary films and appointing public figures as Goodwill Ambassadors. Finally, accountability politics focuses on monitoring the honor-killing phenomenon by implementing the principles of CEDAW. Abstract

In social life, children's development tends to be in the spotlight because children are predicted to be the next generation who are the hopes of parents, families, religion, and even the state. Concerns about a child's future arise when a child comes into conflict with the law due to a criminal act he or she has committed and is serving a prison term. However, these concerns were dispelled by the presence of legislation which ensured that this country paid more attention to its human resources. This research aims to produce a service based on a humanistic approach carried out by correctional officers for assisted children, where later this service can become a forum for developing children during their criminal period as well as preparing children for a better life after the criminal process is completed. This study used qualitative research methods. By taking a humanistic concept which refers to basic needs, security needs, social and affection needs as well as self-actualization needs which will later be applied to the Class IIA Bengkulu Special Development Institute for Children.

Abstract

This article critically examined Indonesia’s policies to mitigate and adapt to climate change within the global climate regime and local political dynamics. A qualitative method and a multilevel governance approach were utilized, emphasizing the dispersion of power both vertically among various levels of governance and horizontally among different quasi-governmental and non-governmental organizations and actors. The analysis unveiled that Indonesia’s climate change policies have involved supranational governance facilitated by global-level regimes and institutions. The government has played a strategic role in aligning itself with these global environmental regimes by implementing laws and policy measures to limit greenhouse gas emissions, control deforestation rates, and address forest degradation. Achieving these governance tasks involved active participation from local governments, municipalities, and non-state actors such as businesses and the community.

Abstract

In public hospitals the services quality has become an imperative in providing satisfaction because delivering services quality directly affected the patients’ perception. The public sector should ensure patients receive the best services in hospitals. Though there has been an attempt to improve the situation it seems not much has been achieved in raising the quality of service in public sector and this is compounded by limited information on the factors that ail the delivery of service quality in the public hospital. Therefore, this research was conducted to know perception of patients about the services quality of public hospital in Lahore Pakistan. The study used a descriptive survey approach in collecting data from the respondents. The number of the respondents was 100 and the respondent was patients. Through convenient sampling the data is collected. A questionnaire was used to collect the data from primary sources. Quantitative technique was used to analyzed the data. For this purpose, ‘SERVQUAL’ instrument was used to measure the service quality delivered by the hospital. Findings show that all the factors discussed in the thesis affect the patients’ perception but the result of infrastructure is the highest which means that infrastructure of the hospitals are positively associated with the perception of patients, but management of hospitals need to work on trustworthiness because of negative perception of patients
