Abstract

Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) is a traditional institution for Muslims, founded among 13th-15th century, which teaches the importance of religious morality to guide everyday behavior. In its development, the schools not only teach religious sciences, but also general science. Instead of educational and social institution, Pesantren is as well as religious broadcasters institutions. The students' community actually is an Islamic society which consists of groups of students bound together by tradition and systems, custom and law "ecology" unique and rarely found its similarity to other communities outside of schools. The traditional Pesantren is a form of cultural acculturation outcomes of Indonesian with Islam. The tradition of local school is a religious phenomenon that has the function of connecting between Islamic values with the culture of Indonesia, and eventually formed the National Islamic nation state. As the concept of nationalism, this paradigm can be used for the purposes of normative constitutional foster as a sense of nationalism. With the acculturation culture model, Indonesia will be free from formalism primordial of Islam and local customs.

Abstract

This research reveals a problem of perception and participation of Dukuh Menanggal Surabaya citizen in the direct election of regional heads in Surabaya in 2010. The research objective was to assess the perceptions and participation of citizens in the form of views and forms of citizen action and community leaders both formal and non-formal education, in the face of direct election implementation in Surabaya. In addition, to assess the relationship between perception and participation of residents with social, economic and cultural This type of research includes descriptive qualitative research. Because the focus of research has been determined in advance, then the strategy of this research includes case studies spikes (embedded case study research). The data in this study is largely qualitative data extracted from the resource persons is 40 people, and from the archives/documents such as journals, newspapers and magazines. The selection of resource persons (sampling) using purposive sampling or criterion-based selection. The data were collected by in-depth interview techniques (depth Interviewing) and recorded documents (content analysis). To obtain accurate data the validity of the data used technique known as triangulation. While the data analysis with interactive analysis techniques From the data analysis it can be concluded: 1. Perception of Dukuh Menanggal Surabaya citizens against direct election in Surabaya. Generally they are positive/good or agree. However, there are some who see negatively or less agree, and even doubt/donÂ’t use the right to vote the direct election of Surabaya. 2. These are some of forms of direct citizen participation in Election, among others: the very high participation in election and determination of voters list on election participation is low, while participation at direct elections included in the category of less participation (low participation). 3. Perception and participation of Dukuh Menanggal Surabaya citizen in the election in Surabaya is very closely linked to the social, economic and cultural development. Both those who agree or are opposed and are hesitant to the direct general election have backgrounds in different social, economic or cultural.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memberikan pelatihan bagi guru-guru yang mendampingi siswa berkebutuhan khusus di Sekolah Luar Biasa Siswa Budhi Surabaya dalam membangun SDM berdaya saing di Era Global dengan segala keterbatasan fisik yang dimiliki melalui pembelajaran PKn berbasis permainan tradisional. Bagaimanapun kekurangan fisik yang dimiliki oleh siswa Sekolah luar biasa Siswa Budhi mereka juga mempunyai Hak dan kesempatan yang sama sebagai warga negara Indonesia untuk berkembang dan berkarya seperti manusia normal pada umumnya. Skenario dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dengan mempergunakan tes (pretest dan posttest design) dalam pelaksanaannya. Adapun Metode yang dipergunakan dalam kegiatan ini ialah pembelajaran Audio visual dan metode simulasi permainan tradisional. Jumlah peserta dalam kegiatan ini ada 8 orang guru SLB. Ada tiga sesi dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini. Sebelum dilaksanakan kegiatan para peserta diberikan tes awal mengerjakan beberapa soal yang sudah Tim siapkan, adapun tujuan pemberian tes di awal kegiatan ialah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengetahuan para peserta tentang pembelajaran PKn pada siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Hasil dari keseluruhan kegiatan PPM ini, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa ada peningkatan pemahaman dan perbedaan cara mengajar yang dilakukan guru-guru pendamping siswa berkebutuhan khusus dalam pembelajaran PKn yang disampaikan kepada para siswa. Hal ini dapat diukur melalui nilai rata-rata tes awal sebanyak 65.28 dan setelah mengikuti pelatihan nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 72.75.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity was explained, so that parents, and the community in Kauman Village, Sedayu District, Gresik Regency, had more attention about the importance of assisting children in operating the Mobile Phone (HP), especially in accessing social media. The approach that will be applied in the implementation of this activity is the lecture and simulation methods. The activities that will be carried out are an explanation of the understanding, rules, and dangers that will come if the operation of a child without the assistance and education of a parent, parenting is done by providing how the application of parents who should, in assisting their children to play mobile or social media. From this parenting activity, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the community's understanding of the nature of parenting, and the implementation of parenting, the impacts that can occur. The increase was seen from the average value of the pre-test of 85%, which initially not many participants understood the positive and negative aspects of social media, this means that only 15% of participants knew the nature of parenting. After taking part in the training in parenting activities, the average post-test score rose to 92% of participants who understood parenting, and only 8% were left with low scores.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Community of Inquiry (CoI) model assisted by social media on problem-solving abilities. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. As an Experiment Class is the Civics Education Study Program, the treatment of the CoI learning model is assisted by Social Media, and as the Control Class is the Economic Education Study Program with the treatment of the CoI learning model without assistance. The data were collected using the test technique and observation sheet and analyzed with a t-test at a significance level (α) = 0.05. A value of 3.585 was obtained that the equal variances were not assumed to have a sig. 0.001 is less than 0.05, so Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted. Thus, there is a significant influence between the CoI learning model assisted by social media on problem-solving in educational policy courses.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi pendidikan demokrasi dalam sistem pendidikan di Pesantren Mahasiswa Al-Hikam Malang. Jenis penelitian ini dapat dikategorikan sebagai penelitian kualitatif phenomenologis, yang berarti mengangkat alam pikiran subjek penelitian, alam pikir grass root, alam pikiran satuan masyarakat yang diteliti. Lokasi penelitian di Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Al-Hikam di Kota Malang, dengan sumber data antara lain: informan yang terdiri dari para pengurus pesantren, santri, dan alumni yang terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan di pondok pesantren; tempat dan peristiwa/aktivitas pelaksanaan; serta arsip dan dokumen terkait. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah: wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan mencatat dokumen. Untuk menjamin keakutaran data maka digunakan teknik trianggulasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis fenomenologis dari Creswell dengan langkah-langkah: horisonalisasi data, cluster of meaning, deskripsi tekstural, deskripsi struktural, menulis deskripsi tentang bagaimana pengalaman itu terjadi, dan penulisan deskripsi gabungan tentang fenomena dengan memasukkan deskripsi tekstural dan deskripsi struktural. Bagian ini merupakan esensi dari pengalaman tersebut dan menampilkan aspek puncak dari studi fenomenologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pendidikan demokrasi dalam sistem pendidikan di Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Al-Hikam Malang dapat dilihat dalam penerapan nilai-nilai demokrasi yang baik terutama dalam partisipasi, kesetaraan, kebebasan, keadilan, dan musyawarah dalam tiga ranah kegiatan, yaitu Pengasuhan, Dirosah, dan Kesantrian. Ranah Pengasuhan menangani bidang mental-spiritual yang meliputi disiplin ibadah, pembentukan akhlak dan semangat pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Ranah Dirosah menangani bidang pengajaran meliputi kemampuan keahlian. Sedangkan ranah Kesantrian mendampingi proses aplikasi dan aktualisasi diri serta memandu santri mahasiswa dalam pengembangan karakter dan kepribadiannya. Dengan implementasi pendidikan demokrasi dalam tiga ranah tersebut, maka pesantren mampu menghasilkan santri mahasiswa yang demokratis, serta mampu menjembatani antara ilmu pengetahuan dengan nilai nilai spitritual keagamaan. Kata kunci : pendidikan demokrasi, sistem pendidikan, pesantren mahasiswa.
