Abstract

The interest in reading is one of the most important problems of elementary education and tends to affect the learning outcomes of students. The purpose of this study was to design an electronic module based on picture story to enhance reading interest and learning outcomes among the fifth grade elementary school students. The research utilized Research and Development model that was adapted to eight steps namely needs analysis, product design, initial development, expert validation, limited trial, revision, extensive trial, and final evaluation. The research was carried out at Tambaksawah Elementary School, Sidoarjo, using expert validators, small trial group, and 57 students in the general implementation phase. The data were collected using observation, interviews, expert validation sheets, reading interest questionnaires, pretest and posttest instruments and analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive methods. The findings demonstrated that the module developed was very feasible with subject matter validation of 88 percent, media validation of 90 percent and language validation of 85 percent. The limited trial showed that the module was practical and received positive responses from students, although some students required initial guidance in using it, although some needed to be initially guided on the use of the module. The wider application demonstrated that the interest of students in reading grew by 61.0 percent to 85.1 percent. There was also an improvement in learning outcomes as indicated by the increase in average pretest score of 60.5 to the average posttest score of 85.0 with an average N Gain of 0.62 in moderate category.

Abstract

Pengabdian bertujuan merefleksikan dan mengevaluasi implementasi AI dalam kegiatan belajar guru-guru SMA Wachid Hasyim 5 Surabaya. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan service learning, melibatkan kerja sama dosen dan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya serta partisipasi 25 guru. Tahapan pengabdian berupa Engagement, Reflection, Reciprocity, dan Public Dissemination. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan diskusi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan mayoritas guru merasakan manfaat pelatihan dalam pengembangan kemampuan mengajar mereka. Selain itu, banyak guru menilai implementasi AI dalam pembelajaran sejalan dengan tuntutan dinamika kelas. Namun, sebagian besar guru masih menghadapi kendala dalam menguasai teknologi ini, terutama terkait keterbatasan pemahaman teknis. Saran ke depannya mencakup pelatihan intensif guna meningkatkan literasi digital guru serta perbaikan infrastruktur teknologi di sekolah guna mendukung pembelajaran berbasis AI.

Abstract

Education is an effort to educate the nation's life so that they become fully human with the spirit of Pancasila. The learning process carried out by teachers tends to achieve curriculum material targets and emphasizes memorization rather than understanding. In terms of improving learning achievement, creative teachers are needed who make learning interesting and liked by students. SAL Type Cooperative Learning is a teaching method by distributing question and answer sheets with available alternative answers. The aim of this research is to improve learning outcomes for Indonesian Social and Cultural Diversity Material using SAL Type Cooperative Learning for Class VIIA students for the 2022-2023 academic year at SMPN 12 Surabaya. This research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach consisting of two cycles. The subjects of this research involved 30 students of class VII A. Qualitative data was collected through student activity observation sheets. Meanwhile, quantitative data was collected from learning outcomes tests. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in the learning outcomes of Class VII A students at SMPN 12 Surabaya, the average score for cycle 1 was 72.3, with the highest score being 90, there was 1 person, and the lowest score was 55, there were 4 people with learning completeness of 80.0% and the incomplete 20.0%. Meanwhile, the average score obtained for cycle II was 79.5 with the highest score being 100, there were 2 people, and the lowest score was 60, there were 2 people with 90.0% learning completeness and 10.0% incomplete.

Abstract

Mangrove planting has great ecological benefits, including preventing abrasion, absorbing carbon, and supporting biodiversity. However, mangrove degradation due to land conversion and lack of public awareness requires intervention in the form of ecosystem rehabilitation. This activity also integrates environmental education to increase student awareness. The purpose of this service is to integrate mangrove conservation practices in project-based learning for students, involving instructional design theories that are relevant to real environmental issues. This activity also aims to support collaboration between universities and coastal communities. The results of this service are education to increase participants' understanding of the role of mangroves and correct planting techniques, seedlings are planted according to ecological conditions, with assistance to ensure success, then observation of seedling growth, additional rehabilitation, and community empowerment to maintain the sustainability of the program. The conclusion is that mangrove planting is not only beneficial for environmental conservation but also improves community welfare through ecotourism development. This activity supports sustainable development goals while providing practical learning experiences for students.

Abstract

Keberagaman suku, agama, budaya, dan latar belakang sosial merupakan karakteristik bangsa Indonesia yang perlu dijaga melalui penguatan sikap toleransi dan kebhinekaan sejak usia sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mampu meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik mengenai nilai-nilai Pancasila serta memperkuat rasa sikap toleransi dan kebhinekaan dalam kehidupan berbangsa. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui Olimpiade Pendidikan Pancasila Tingkat Kabupaten Sidoarjo diselenggarakan di SMP Negeri 2 Sidoarjo dengan melibatkan peserta didik SMP dari berbagai sekolah di Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Metode yang digunakan adalah service learning yang meliputi tahap identifikasi kebutuhan, perencanaan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, refleksi, dan evaluasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui pemberian pengarahan, pelaksanaan olimpiade berbasis digital, interaksi antar peserta, serta sesi refleksi mengenai nilai-nilai toleransi dan kebhinekaan. Peserta mengikuti seluruh rangkaian program dengan antusias dan menunjukkan pemahaman yang baik terhadap materi Pendidikan Pancasila, nilai toleransi, serta pentingnya menjaga rasa persatuan dalam keberagaman. Selain meningkatkan wawasan kebangsaan peserta, kegiatan ini juga memberikan pengalaman sosial yang mendorong tumbuhnya sikap saling menghargai, menghormati perbedaan, dan membangun hubungan yang positif antar peserta dari berbagai sekolah. Olimpiade Pendidikan Pancasila dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif program penguatan karakter yang efektif dalam menumbuhkan sikap toleransi dan kebhinekaan pada peserta didik.
