Abstract

This research is motivated by the number of students who have low academic resilience, this is caused by students not believing in their abilities, not being able to control themselves etc. The purpose of this study is to describe: 1) academic resilience of international class students, 2) academic resilience of international class students in terms of confidence (self belief), 3) academic resilience of international class students in terms of control (a sense of control), 4) academic resilience of international class students in terms of composure (anxiety), 5) academic resilience of international class students in terms of commitment (persistence). This research uses quantitative methods with a descriptive approach. The research sample was 72 international class students of the Guidance and Counseling Department of Padang State University who were selected using the total sampling technique. Data obtained by giving a research questionnaire in the form of an academic resilience instrument with a Likert scale model to students who have been tested for validity and data processing using descriptive statistical methods. The results showed that the academic resilience of international class students of BK UNP was generally in the high category with a percentage of (47%).

Abstract

Students often face various academic challenges that can cause stress. Higher education, as an educational institution, has a major role in developing human resources and increasing the nation's competitiveness, so the educational curriculum becomes very demanding which causes stress in students referred to as academic stress. One of the factors that influence academic stress is the year of study. The objectives of this research are 1) To describe the academic stress of first-year students; 2) To describe the academic stress of final year students; 3) To examine whether there is a difference in academic stress between first year students and final year students. This research method is quantitative with comparative descriptive research type. The population in this study were 300 students with a sample of 172 students selected by proportional random sampling method. Data collection in this study used academic stress instruments with a likert scale of 45 items that had been tested for validity and reliability, namely 0.926. Data were processed using percentage analysis techniques and comparative analysis techniques with the independent sample t-test formula. The results of this study indicate that (1) Academic stress of first-year students is in the moderate category (56.41%); (2) Academic stress of final-year students is in the moderate category (57.17%); (3) There is no significant difference between the differences in academic stress of first-year students and final-year students, with a t value of 0.555 with a significance level of 0.679>0.05. Based on the results of this study, counselors can provide assistance to students through information services, individual counseling services, group guidance services, group counseling services.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students who have low self-esteem because students feel they have a negative body image. Students tend to be dissatisfied with their body shape, and even consider physical condition to be a mandatory standard that other people pay attention to. This research aims to describe body image and self-esteem in students and their implications for counseling services. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The population of this study was 694 students of SMAN 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung who were registered in the 2024/2025 academic year, the sample for this study was 328. Sample selection used proportional random sampling technique. The data collection technique uses a scale for body image and self-esteem. Data were analyzed using descriptive techniques. The research results show that overall body image is in the medium category, while overall self-esteem is in the high category. Services that can be provided to students to improve body image and self-esteem include information services and group guidance services.

Abstract

This study is motivated by students who cannot express their opinions, cannot accept their strengths and weaknesses and have difficulty interacting with friends and the irenvironment, feel inferior to their body shape, different skin color compared to their friends and during class hours students do not dare to express their opinions in front of the class because they are not confident. This study aims to describe the description of self-esteem at SMAN 1 2X11 Enam Lingkung. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The population of this study was 694 students at SMAN 1 2X11 Enam Lingkung in the 2024/2025 school year and a sample of 328 students taken through proportional random sampling technique. Data collection in this study used a Likert scale, namely a self-esteem questionnaire that has been tested for validity with the Pearson correlation formula (0.355). The data in this study were processed with descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the self-esteem of students at SMAN 1 2X11 Enam Lingkung as a wholeis in themoderate category (65.24). Based on the results of this study, counseling teachers can provide assistance to improve students' self-esteem in the form of information services, content mastery services and group guidance services.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing number of working women in West Sumatra, which reached 68.50-74.36% in 2022. The dual role as wife and parent can cause work-family conflict. Social support is a factor that affects work-family conflict. This study analyzes the relationship between social support and work-family conflict in career women. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The participants in this study were 60 career women as professionals in West Sumatra. The research instruments used were social support scale and work-family conflict scale. The research data were collected online and then analyzed using partial-least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant relationship between the two variables, namely social support and work family conflict. In addition, the simultaneous effect analysis shows that only 16.1% of the variance can be explained, while 83.9% of the causal factors remain unknown. Based on the results of the study, with the help of counselors, career women are expected to understand, overcome problems, and develop skills through various counseling services, such as information services, group guidance and counseling, and family counseling.

Abstract

Resilience is very important to be able to rise and develop with the pressures experienced by students. Therefore resilience is needed by students who experience a broken home to be able to develop a future orientation that can support their life to be better. The research objective was to determine the level of academic resilience of students from broken home families at Padang 16 Public Middle School in terms of: emotional regulation, impulse control, optimism, ability to analyze problems, empathy, self-efficacy and reaching out . The research was conducted at SMP N 16 Padang, with a quantitative descriptive methodology. The sample of this study was 53 students, using the TIRI instrument (Taufik & Ifdil Inventory Resilience) which was developed from theory (Reivich & Shatté, 2012). Based on the findings, it was concluded that the level of academic resilience of students who came from broken home families was generally in the moderate category with a frequency of 35 and a percentage of 66.04%, meaning that more than half of the students who were the research sample could be said to be resilient.

Abstract

Kebanyakan remaja pada saat ini merasakan kehidupan tidak bermakna, hampa, apatis, kehilangan minat dalam belajar dan ada rasa keputusasaaan. Hal ini merupakan gejala hilangnya kebermaknaan hidup remaja. Kebermaknaan hidup adalah kondisi individu yang menunjukkan seberapa besar individu dapat mengembangkan potensi dalam diri dan seberapa tinggi individu membuat hidupnya bermakna. Kebermaknaan hidup dapat dilihat dari tiga aspek, yaitu 1) Kebebasan berkehendak, 2) Hasrat untuk hidup bermakna, 3) Makna hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran kebermaknaan hidup siswa. Metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel sebanyak 283 orang siswa SMAN 8 Padang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran kebermaknaan hidup siswa secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian layanan yang dapat diberikan untuk meningkatkan kebermaknaan hidup siswa, yaitu layanan informasi, layanan konseling individu, dan layanan bimbingan kelompok.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui bagaimana perencanaan karir remaja di panti asuhan sebelum diberikan layanan informasi (2) mengetahui bagaimana perencanaan karir remaja di panti asuhan sesudah diberikan layanan informasi (3) mengetahui bagaiamana perencanaan karir remaja di panti asuhan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan layanan informasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 22 remaja yang dipilih dengan teknik total sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner (angket) perencanaan karir. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa: (1) Tingkat perencanaan karir remaja sebelum diberikan layanan informasi sebesar 58,06% berada pada kategori sedang, (2) Tingkat perencanaan karir remaja setelah diberikan layanan informasi sebesar 76,24% berada pada kategori tinggi, (3) Perbedaan perencanaan karir remaja sebelum dan setelah diberikan layanan informasi berdasarkan uji-t didapatkan sebesar 26,36, artinya layanan informasi efektif untuk meningkatkan perencanaan karir remaja.

Abstract

Pekerjaan dan karier orangtua dapat mempengaruhi kebahagiaan anak, karena banyak orangtua yang memilih untuk berkarier, sehingga mereka sibuk dengan pekerjaannya.Kebahagiaan dapat dilihat dari tiga aspek, yaitu aspek kepuasan akan masa lalu, optimis akan masa depan dan kebahagiaan pada masa sekarang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kebahagiaan siswa yang orangtuanya berkarier di SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Limau. Metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan sampel sebanyak 37 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria siswa yang ayah atau ibunya berkarier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran kebahagiaan siswa yang orangtuanya berkarier secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori sangat rendah, artinya sebagian besar siswa merasa tidak puas dalam kehidupannya sehingga mereka belum mencapai kebahagiaan dalam dirinya, Guru BK diharapkan membantu dan membimbing siswa yang memiliki kebahagiaan yang rendah agar mereka mampu mencapai dan merasakan kebahagiaan dalam dirinya dengan memberikan layanan konseling individual, layanan informasi dan layanan bimbingan kelompok.

Abstract

Children with special needs are children who need the same education and services as other children, so that they can realize that every human being must have advantages. One of the problems of children with special needs is their low self-esteem. Therefore, the problem to be studied in this research is, "Analysis self-esteem of children with special needs in Padang and its implications in guidance counseling". This type of research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The subjects in this study were 4 children with special needs and 8 informants. The research instruments used in this study were interview guidelines, observation and documentation. The results showed that, self-esteem of children with special needs in the aspect of self-liking was in the low category and the self-esteem in the self-competence aspect is in the medium category. The concluded is every child with special needs has a different self-esteem.
