Abstract

The purpose of this research is relationship of puddles, swamps, bushes, cattle cages to malaria incidence in Endemis District, North Labuhan Batu Regency in 2022. This type of research is an analytical survey research with a case control research design. The population in this study are all residents in Kualuh Leidong Sub-District and Kualuh Hilir who suffered from malaria based on the results of the blood preparation examination, which was indicated by the discovery of plasmodium in the blood by laboratory personnel and was declared positive for malaria. The sample in this study is 114 consisting of 57 cases and 57 controls who have the same characteristics (age and sex). Data analysis in this study using bivariate analysis. The results show that there is a significant relationship between puddles and malaria incidence in Endemis District, North Labuhan Batu Regency in 2022. There is a significant relationship between swamps and malaria incidence in Endemis District, North Labuhan Batu Regency in 2022. There is a significant relationship between bushes and malaria incidence in Endemis District, North Labuhan Batu Regency in 2022. There is no significant relationship between cattle cages and malaria incidence in Endemis District, North Labuhan Batu Regency in 2022.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze of the relationship of income and knowledge to habits of open defecation in Langkat Regency in 2022. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study is all heads of families in Langkat Regency, totaling 256,025 Families. The sample in this study is the subject taken from the population of the community residing in 2 Sub-Districts from 23 Sub-Districts in Langkat Regency. The total of each sample is Tanjung Pura and Stabat Districts 4 and 2. Data analysis used bivariate analysis. The results show that there is a significant relationship between income and knowledge to habits of open defecation in Langkat Regency in 2022.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze effect of education and knowledge on domestic waste management for housewives in Medan City in 2022. This type of research is an analytic survey using a cross sectional and quantitative research design. The population in this study are housewives who live in 7 Sub-Districts (Region-III) in Medan City. The sample in this study is obtained from 4 Sub-Districts in Region-III Medan City. The sampling method used in this study was purposive sampling. The selected Sub-Districts are Medan Tembung District, Medan Marelan District, Medan Deli District, and Medan Labuhan District. The distribution of samples is distributed proportionally with 25 samples in each Sub-Districts. The statistical test used in this study is logistics regression multivariate analysis. The results show that education has effect on action of domestic waste management for housewives in Medan City in 2022. Knowledge has effect on action of domestic waste management for housewives in Medan City in 2022.

Abstract

The research objective is to analyze relationship of lighting, floor type, ventilation, and house wall with tuberculosis incidence in Mandailing Natal District in 2022. This research is a case control study. The case population in this study were tuberculosis sufferers in Mandailing Natal Regency in 2021 which were divided into the work areas of the highland Community Health Center, namely Hutabargot, Sibanggor Jae, Kayu Laut, and Gunung Baringin. While in the lowlands, namely Panyabungan Jae, Longat, Gunung Tua, and Mompang. The total sample in this study is a minimum of 124 people. The data collection method used primary and secondary data. Data analysis used bivariate analysis.

Abstract

Climate change causes an increase in waves and abrasion, damage to mangrove forests on the coast of Labu due to abrasion has an impact on the balance of coastal ecosystems. Mangrove forests function as breakwaters and abrasion resistance, spawning areas for marine life. This condition has an impact on the productivity of marine biota, the environment so that it will affect the community's economy. This community service aims to increase knowledge, skills and awareness of coastal communities in environmental management, especially mangrove conservation in overcoming abrasion, improving community values and changing behavior so that they can take an important role in climate change mitigation efforts. The method used is socialization, community development, mentoring and community organizing in environmental management through community service "Climate Change Mitigation through Real Actions of Restoration Generation for Mangroves on Pantai Labu". The expected target and outcome is the improvement of environmental quality, knowledge and skills of the community as coastal environmental managers. Publications in journals, videos and mass media, produce processed mangrove products as well as IPR drafts. Community service activities include planting mangroves on coastlines that have experienced heavy abrasion, maintaining and restoring coastal areas with coastal reforestation mitigation activities, processed food products from mangrove plants and the formation of youth organizations that care about the environment

Abstract

Keracunan pestisida merupakan suatu kejadian yang perlu diperhatikan khususnya bagi petani yang menggunakan pestisida. Fenomena keracunan umumnya disebabkan karena perilaku penggunaan pestisida yang tidak sesuai prosedur dan berisiko. Kegiatan PPM ini merupakan salah satu kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk mengurangi risiko keracunan pestisida melalui gerakan sosial yang disebut dengan GEMPAR (Gerakan Masyarakat Petani Atasi Racun). GEMPAR merupakan gerakan sosial yang terdiri dari delapan aksi sebagai gerakan petani untuk mengurangi risiko keracunan akibat penggunaan pestisida. Aksi GEMPAR meliputi bagaimana mengenali bahaya racun pestisida dan gejala keracunan; menggunakan pelindung diri yang lengkap selama menggunakan pestisida; memperhatikan arah angin selama menyemprot; menyimpan pestisida di tempat yang aman dan tertutup; membuang sisa wadah pestisida di tempat yang tertutup; melaporkan keluhan bila mengalami gejala keracunan; dan beralih menggunakan pestisida alami dan meninggalkan pestisida kimia sintetis. GEMPAR yang dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan PPM ini dilakukan sebagai peningkatan edukasi petani dan menjawab kendala penerapan GEMPAR melalui kegiatan talk show. Kegiatan ini mendukung promosi aksi GEMPAR yang dilakukan petani sehingga dapat menunjang kesejahteraan dan perekonomian petani. Disamping dapat menghindari risiko keracunan juga dapat menyehatkan masyarakat petani dengan produk pertanian yang bebas pestisida.

Abstract

Protokol recruitment perawat berbasis kompetensi merupakan suatu pedoman dalam pelaksanaan recruitment perawat yang terdiri dari regulasi, pedoman, standar prosedur operasional (SPO). Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penerapan protokol recruitment perawat berbasis kompetensi di Rumah Sakit Santa Elisabeth Medan. Partisipan penelitian 16 orang. Metode penelitian: action research. Data kuantitatif yaitu tingkat pengetahuan partisipan diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif diperoleh hasil adanya peningkatan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan recruitment dengan menggunakan protokol recruitment berbasis kompetensi dari 80% menjadi 100%. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil FGD, analisa dengan content analysis.  Dampak Penerapan Protokol recruitment perawat berbasis kompetensi di Rumah Sakit Santa Elisabeth Medan adalah perekrutan yang dilaksanakan lebih sistematis sesuai alur/prosedur yang telah ditetapkan; jumlah pelamar lebih banyak hasil dari perekrutan lebih bermutu.Implementation of Competency-Based Nurse Recruitment Protocol at Santa Elisabeth Hospital, Medan Competency-based recruitment protocols at the Santa Elisabeth hospital in Medan is a guideline in the implementation of nurse recruitment which consists of regulations, guidelines, standard operating procedur (SPO). This study aims to determine the effect of the application of competency-based recruitment protocol at the Santa Elisabeth hospital in Medan. Study participants were 16 people. Research methods: action research. Quantitative data that is the level of participant knowledge obtained through the distribution of questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics obtained the results of an icrease in knowledge before and after implementation of recruitment using competency based recruitment protocols from 80% to 100%. Qualitative data were obtained from FGD result, analysis with content analysis. The impact of the implementation of competency-based nurse recruitment protocols at the Santa Elisabeth hospital in Medan is the recruitment that is carried out more systematically according to the established procedures; the number of applicants more results from better quality recruitment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of BPJS Health services during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Mampang Health Center based on the dimensions of Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance and Empathy. This research design uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The location of this research is the Mampang Public Health Center, Kotapinang District, South Labuhanbatu Regency. Based on the results of the research conducted by researchers on 150 respondents who were patients or participants who visited the Mampang Public Health Center, Kotapinang District using BPJS Health, the results were (88.6%) rated moderate on Tangible dimensions, (85.7%) assessed on the Reliability dimension, (94.3%) rated it moderate on the Responsiveness dimension, (82.9%) rated it moderate on the Assurance dimension, and (97.1%) rated yes it meets the Empathy dimension. None of the respondents' statements stated that the quality of service was poor even though they were BPJS users.

Abstract

A holistic patient safety program requires a crucial and fundamental component: patient safety culture. It is also critical in the evaluation of hospital safety and service quality. The purpose of the study was to find out how nurses at USU Hospital implemented a patient safety culture. The Collaizzi approach to descriptive phenomenology was applied in the study design. Purposive sampling was used to choose fifteen participants who met the inclusion criteria. In-depth interviews were used to acquire the information. Verbatim description was used in the analysis and interpretation. Five themes emerged from the study, namely: (1) accomplishment of patient safety goals with the support from the hospital management, (2) information provision about patient nursing care to improve patient safety, (3) report of patient safety incidents, (4) obstacles encountered by nurses in implementing patient safety culture, and (5) expectation that nurse implement safety culture. It suggested that nursing services facilitate nurses with training on patient safety culture regularly to improve their behaviors in reporting any patient safety incidents.

Abstract

Cases of early marriage are a problem in various countries including Indonesia. Early marriage has an impact on reproductive health and risks experiencing emergencies during pregnancy and childbirth. Early marriage also tends to make children lose their right to play and get an education. The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of young women who married at an early age in Paya Pasir Village, Medan Marelan District. The research design used was a qualitative phenomenological research design. The participants in this study were 10 married young women in the Paya Pasir sub-district . The results showed several sub-themes , namely: The causes of early marriage are due to romantic relationships, arranged marriages and economic factors, all participants did not have the mental readiness to face marriage. Experience in intercourse tends to mention surrender because of obligation and not enjoy. During pregnancy, two participants experienced an unexpected pregnancy, and even planned to have an abortion but it didn't happen. The contraceptive used by the participants was of the hormonal type, and all experienced symptoms of severe side effects. Experience in caring for babies all participants have felt anxiety, sadness and crying.
