Abstract

This research aims to analyze differences in mathematical understanding of fourth grade students at UNISMUH Makassar Labschool based on their learning styles. The background to this research stems from various problems found in the field, such as students' low mathematical understanding, teachers' lack of understanding of learning styles, and the lack of research related to learning styles at the elementary school level. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with phenomenological methods to explore students' subjective experiences in understanding integer material based on visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. The research results show that students with an auditory learning style tend to excel in solving problems verbally and narratively, while visual students are better at understanding basic concepts through pictorial representations, but have difficulty in advanced applications. Kinesthetic students show moderate comprehension, depending on the physical activity and props used. Although differences were found in the level of mathematical understanding between learning styles, these differences were not statistically significant. Thus, learning style is not the only determining factor in students' mathematical understanding, but it still needs to be considered in planning more adaptive learning.

Abstract

Abon tuna fish as a product developed to increase nutritional value, especially iron, requires the addition of vegetables such as katuk leaves. Katuk leaves are known as breast milk facilitating vegetables. In addition, katuk leaves are also iron-rich vegetables to prevent anemia because the mineral content in katuk leaves is quite high, especially Fe which can be used to prevent fatigue due to anemia. This study aims to determine the acceptability and protein and iron content of shredded tuna fish (Thunnus sp.) with the addition of katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus). This research method is pre-experimental research with a post test group design approach. In this study, shredded tuna fish products were developed with the addition of katuk leaves with three treatment concentrations of 15%, 20% and 25%. This research was conducted in January - February 2023 at the Organoleptic Test Laboratory of the Nutrition Department of the Makassar Poltekkes Kemenkes with 30 untrained panelists. Analysis of protein and iron content using Micro Kjeldahl and AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry) methods. The results of the acceptability test were carried out using the Kruskall wallis test and continued with the Mann Whitney test. In the liking test, the most preferred color, aroma and taste were F1, the most preferred texture was F2. The highest protein content in F1 amounted to 39.72 g/100 g and iron in F3 amounted to 4.74 mg/100 g. Further studies need to be conducted on the utilization of shredded products

This research is a quantitative research with Pre experimental research design. This research was conducted at Mts Muhammadiyah 02 Sorong Regency. The sample of this study was 22 eighth grade students consisting of 12 female and 10 male. The instrument of this research is a test. The test was divided into two tests, namely pre-test and post-test. based on calculations using the SPSS application, it can be obtained that the N-Gain result is 70.54 (70%) which is declared effective. In addition, the result of t-test shows the value of P (0.000) < ? (0.05), which means there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. Thus, the alternative hypothesis is accepted (the combination of outdoor learning method with observe & remember game is effective in teaching vocabulary) and the null hypothesis is rejected. In addition, the average score of pretest (41.36) increased to posttest (82.73). In general, the combination of outdoor method with observe & remember game can help students to be more active because students can organize their ideas in learning vocabulary and also remember vocabulary.

Abstract

This research explores the obstacles students encounter during English reading instruction through virtual learning in Southwest Papua's English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. The study was conducted at UNIMUDA Sorong, utilizing both offline and online methods for data collection. The researcher recruited 20 participants through convenient sampling. Qualitative data was collected and analysed thematically, revealing that students perceive virtual learning as highly beneficial for improving their English reading skills. They find it user-friendly and hold a positive attitude towards its integration into learning. Consequently, it is asserted that students' favorable perceptions of virtual learning's value in enhancing EFL classrooms in Papua correspond to their adeptness in utilizing virtual learning for reading comprehension. The findings suggest that virtual learning can effectively support EFL instruction, highlighting its potential to overcome traditional learning barriers in this context. Additionally, the study emphasizes the need for adequate technological infrastructure and continuous training for both students and teachers to maximize the benefits of virtual learning.
