Abstract

Implications of Gender Bias for Human Resource Development Management in Education Institution Characterized by Religion. The study aimed at describing gender bias and exploring its implications for human resource development management in education institution having religious characteristics. This qualitative case study involved Sunan Kalijaga Islamic Elementary School at Malang. The data were collected through in-depth interview, observation, and documentation study. The results of qualitative analyses indicate that in such education institution exists gender bias, which is reflected not in physical conditions but in human life within the institution. Gender bias is reflected in the implementation of outside-classroom activities, which might influence the teaching-learning process, and has effect on management, mainly management of human resource development and leadership.

Abstract

Kerjasama adalah bentuk interaksi sosial yang di dalamnya sekelompok orang menyadari bahwa mereka memiliki kepentingan yang sama. Dalam organisasi, kerjasama dapat terlihat pada salah satu prinsip administrasi. Kerjasama ini dapat diterapkan dalam pengambilan keputusan, yaitu dalam merumuskan masalah, mengidentifikasi alternatif, menentukan kriteria, menguji alternatif, dan menetapkan keputusan. Dalam organisasi sekolah, kerjasama dalam pengambilan keputusan melibatkan kepala sekolah dan guru. Bentuk kerjasamanya dapat dibedakan menjadi dua, yaitu cara individual dan cara kelompok. Cara kelompok lebih banyak memiliki kelebihan daripada cara individual.

Abstract

Education currently occupies a very important position in human development. The quality of the Finnish educational system is interesting to study because its success has been recognized worldwide. This study provides an overview of the comparison of the education systems of the countries of Indonesia and Finnish. The method used in this study is literature study. The results of the study show several differences, (1) Indonesia's educational system is colored by many competitions while Finnish puts forward the principle of equality; (2) Indonesia has a system of failing a grade and student ranking, Finnish hasnt failing a grade and ranking system; (3) Indonesia load learning every week +/- 40 hours, Finnish lessons +/- 30 hours per week; (4) Indonesia learns a lot in class, Finnish puts forward problem solving methods; (5) Indonesia assignments almost become a routine agenda every face to face, Finnish does not burden students with a lot of tasks, (6) Indonesia minimum teacher qualifications D4, Finnish minimum teacher qualifications S2 (Master), (7) Indonesian qualifications students enter basic education for at least 6 years (5.5 years accompanied by written recommendations from professional psychologists), Finnish qualifications for students entering basic education for at least 7 years.

Abstract

The writing of this article aims to find out the juridical and political foundations in education, as the basis of the implementation and legitimacy of the implementation of the education policy itself. The juridical-political foundation becomes a strong legal basis in guiding the implementation of education in accordance with the mandate of the law to educate the life of the nation. The writing of this article uses a literature study approach which examines theories that are relevant to the juridical and political foundation in education and policy implementation at the level of the central government, regional government, to the education unit level. The writing of this article can be a reference for the implementation of learning in educational institutions related to educational policies that are based on juridical and political foundations.

Abstract

Permasalahan urgent para guru meliputi para “guru muda” yang mengajar sangat serba terbatas dari segi keaktifan mereka menulis dan menghasilkan karya ilmiah. Banyak guru yang melakukan malpractice untuk mengatasi ketidak-mampuan menulis karya ilmiah, kurang cukupnya pengetahuan, komitmen dan penerapan berbagai aspek tentang menulis karya ilmiah, dikarenakan kurang ada kesempatan mengikuti pelatihan terkait karya ilmiah, dan tidak adanya tim instruktur pada keorganisasian sekolah yang berfungsi membina para “guru muda” melakukan aktifitas untuk menghasilkan karya ilmiah. Metode pelatihan terbaru, yaitu  “in-1,on, in-2” yang merupakan hasil merge antara kegiatan study, action, dan follow-up digunakan dalam kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini. Kegiatan ini melibatkan guru muda (usia maksimal 55 tahun dengan golongan pangkat 3a-d) di  SMK yang ada di Kota Malang. Kegiatan dilakukan selama 6x8 jam tatap muka dan kegiatan pendampingan dan konsultasi secara online dengan waktu sesuai kebutuhan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini meliputi: (1) kegiatan yang dilakukan pada pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu pra-pelatihan, kegiatan analisis pre-research, kegiatan research (tahap “on”), kegiatan post-research, pelatihan dan pendampingan, dan evaluasi pasca kegiatan; (2) pelaksanaan pembiasaan menulis best practice ber-mindset riset pada guru SMK di Kota Malang terbukti mampu meningkatkan produktivitas guru muda SMK; dan (3) para peserta menghasilkan produk luaran berupa best practice yang siap disubmit pada kompetisi best practice tingkat regional dan nasional.Kata kunci— best practice, guru muda, guru SMK , penulisan karya ilmiah AbstractThe urgent issue for teachers includes “young teachers” who teach very limited things in terms of their active writing and producing scientific works. Many teachers do malpractice to overcome the inability to write scientific papers, insufficient knowledge, commitment and application of various aspects of writing scientific papers, due to the lack of opportunities to take part in training related to scientific work, and the absence of a team of instructors in school organizations that function to foster students. "Young teachers" carry out activities to produce scientific work. The newest training method, namely "in-1, on, in-2" which is the result of a merge between study, action and follow-up activities is used in this Community Service activity. This activity involves young teachers (maximum age 55 years with rank 3a-d) in SMK in Malang City. Activities carried out for 6x8 hours face to face and online mentoring and consultation activities according to the time needed. The results of this activity include: (1) activities carried out in this community service, namely pre-training, pre-research analysis activities, research activities (“on” stage), post-research activities, training and mentoring, and post-activity evaluation. ; (2) the implementation of writing best practice with a research mindset on vocational high school teachers in Malang is proven to be able to increase the productivity of young vocational school teachers; and (3) participants produce output products in the form of best practices that are ready to be submitted in regional and national best practice competitions.Keywords— best practice, young teachers, vocational school teachers, writing scientific papers

Abstract

The internalization of character values in the boarding-schools should ideally be designed to answering the challenges of the context of Indonesia as a multicultural country. This study aims to reconstruct the character cultivation through the multicultural boarding school system as an internalization model of marine leadership characters. This study employed a single-holistic case study in a Senior High School of Taruna Nala, East Java, Indonesia, that implemented a boarding school system. The data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentary analysis, and the results was presented interactively. The data sources studied were determined by purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The data validity was tested with four criteria: credibility, dependability, confirmability, and transferability. This study found that the character of maritime leadership is the reponsive (tanggap), tough (tanggon), and agile (trengginas) as unique-intelligent characters that must be mastered by senior high schools in Indonesia as a maritime country. To make it happens, the internalization of character values can be done through a cultivation model, like in planting, consisting of: (1) determining the goals, (2) the seeds selection, (3) land cultivation, (4) planting the seeds, (5) maintenance, and (6) fertilization. The model is carried out in full through the boarding system education system.

Abstract

Sekolah berjenis madrasah  di dalamnya terdapat dua macam kurikulum umum dan agama sementara jumlah jam pelajaran terbatas. Perlu pemahaman guru di madrasah dalam memahami bagaimana memadukan muatan kurikulum dengan kurikulum berbasis agama dalam aktivitas pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan membantu guru di madrasah agar dapat memilih strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan efisien. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melatih guru madrasah agar memiliki keterampilan tentang integrated learning dan mengimplementasikannya dengan mengintegrasikan sejumlah matapelajaran yang berbasis saintifik dan religious. Metode pengabdian adalah workshop yang diikuti oleh kepala sekolah dan guru.  Pelatihan melibatkan 30 orang guru di dua madrasah tsanawiyah di Kota Malang, Jawa Timur. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui empat tahap yaitu refleksi dan persiapan, sosialisasi materi, workshop, dan peer teaching. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian adalah pemahaman guru tentang integrated learning masih rendah. Beberapa matapelajaran dapat diintegrasikan dengan model pembelajaran connected dan threaded. Dua di antaranya  (Akidah Akhlak yang bermuatan religious dan IPA yang bermuatan saintifik) dipilih sebagai contoh penerapan integrated learning oleh peserta dalam peer teaching.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of the research is to find personal and spiritual values in the leadership behaviour of school personnel that can increase the attractiveness of madrasas. This study used a multi-site approach, with data sources using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis by describing data, collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions and analysing data across sites. The results in this study found that the personal value of school personnel that can increase the attractiveness of madrasah is the value of caring, sympathy. the ability to work together, the value of trust and humility. while the spiritual values of school personnel that can increase the attractiveness of madrasas are the values of kindness, empathy, integrity, encouraging hope and belief in the standard of excellence and the value of integrity.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menemukan nilai-nilai personal dan spiritual dalam perilaku kepemimpinan personil sekolah yang dapat meningkatkan daya tarik madrasah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan multi situs dengan sumber data menggunakan purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dengan mendeskripsikan data, mengumpulkan data, mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan pengambilan kesimpulan serta analisis data lintas situs. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menemukan nilai personal personil sekolah yang dapat meningkatkan daya tarik madrasah adalah nilai kepedulian, simpatik. kemampuan bekerja sama, nilai kepercayaan dan kerendahan hati. sedangkan nilai spiritual personil sekolah yang dapat meningkatkan daya tarik madrasah adalah nilai kebaikan, empati, integritas, mendorong harapan dan keyakinan pada standar keunggulan dan nilai integritas.

Abstract

Abstract: This research described the transition process of organizational culture at regrouping school. Culture transition is a phase through which an organization tries to adapt to a new culture that occurs due to a change. Regrouping is a combination of two schools or more, become effective and efficient management. The research used qualitative approach by using multi-sites research design. The findings of the research indicate the organization culture transition process consisted of an identity crisis, neutral zone, and identity building. Indicators of achievement of effective and efficient  including increased participation of teachers, staff and community, improve quality of teachers, improvement of schools image, improvement of service quality and school facilities, and development of lessons and extracurricular.Abstrak: Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan proses transisi budaya organisasi sekolah regrouping. Transisi budaya merupakan fase yang dilewati oleh sebuah organisasi untuk penyesuaian diri dengan budaya baru yang terjadi karena sebuah perubahan. Regrouping merupakan penggabungan antara dua sekolah atau lebih menjadi satu pengelolaan yang efektif dan efisien. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis rancangan studi multi situs. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proses transisi budaya mencakup krisis identitas, zona netral, dan pembangunan identitas. Indikator ketercapaian pengelolaan sekolah yang efektif dan efisien, meliputi peningkatan partisipasi guru, staf dan masyarakat, peningkatan kualitas guru, peningkatan citra sekolah, peningkatan kualitas layanan dan fasilitas sekolah, serta pengembangan pembelajaran dan ekstrakurikuler.

Abstract

Abstract: This study purpose was to discribe (1) character building expected by the school (2) Madrasah Diniyah is the school partner for character building, (3) Full day school through school partnerships and Madrasah diniah for character building. A qualitative approach to the study design multy case used this study. There are three techniques used to collecting data using in-depth interview techniques, observation and documentation. There are two data analysis includes data analysis of individual case and cross case data analysis. The findings of this study were (1) Character building expected by the school includes varoius types of character building dan products of character building, (2) Madrasah Diniyah is the school partner for character building includes curriculum objectives, organizational structure, learning systems, and (3) Full Day School through school partnerships and Madrasah diniah for character building  includes forms of cooperation, personnel structure, partnership tasks.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) pendidikan karakter yang diharapkan sekolah, (2) Madrasah Diniyah yang menjadi mitra sekolah untuk pendidikan karakter, dan (3) Full Day School melalui kemitraan sekolah dan Madrasah diniyah untuk pendidikan karakter. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan rancangan studi multikasus digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Ada tiga teknik dalam mengumpulkan data yaitu menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Ada dua analisis data meliputi analisis data kasus individu dan analisis data lintas kasus. Temuan penelitian ini, meliputi (1) pendidikan karakter yang diharapkan sekolah meliputi macam-macam pendidikan karakter dan produk pendidikan karakter, (2) Madrasah Diniyah yang menjadi mitra sekolah untuk pendidikan karakter, meliputi tujuan kurikulum, struktur organisasi, sistem pembelajaran, dan (3) Full Day School melalui kemitraan sekolah dan Madrasah Diniyah untuk pendidikan karakter, meliputi bentuk kerjasama, susunan personalia, dan tugas kemitraan.
