Abstract

The aim of this article was developing learning material for Civic Engagement Education based on ecological and cultural wisdom. The object of the study was the Central Sangga Buana Karang farmer community. The theoretical approaches that are considered relevant are those that are anthropological, ecological, and biological in nature. The results of the study show that Jakarta, apart from being the center of the economy, politics-bureaucracy, education and culture, as well as the center for the development of science and technology, is generally also the center of urbanization from various motives and backgrounds (migration). As a result of migration and population development that is not in line with geographical conditions, environmental and demographic management are to be separate problems that cannot be resolved by DKI Jakarta Government. For instance, the rampant illegal settlements have caused damage and pollution to the environment. However, in the South Jakarta area, especially in the Pesanggrahan Karang Tengah River watershed, there was a protected urban forest area that has been successfully managed by Sangga Buana volunteers using an ecological and cultural wisdom approach. This community efforts can be developed as one of the study materials for Community Citizenship Education. Keyword: Sangga Buana Community, Civic Education, Ecology Wisdom

Abstract

Character education is currently being promoted in various educational institutions. Various methods have been undertaken, one of which is using the work environment. With this method, the character development of learners can be established and monitored directly. Starting from this condition, this research was conducted to describe the implementation of character building through the work environment and the impact of the emerging values of character building through the work system conducted at the Institute of Education of Institute Government of Home Affairs (IPDN). This research is grounded in three coding systems, where sampling was conducted purposively. Technical analysis of the data consisted of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The findings revealed that an educational process comprised of character values in a work environment could help to improve work behaviors.

Abstract

This research explores the integration of character education, specifically focusing on drawing inspiration from the abundant cultural wisdom embedded in Mamanda theater—an invaluable cultural asset in South Kalimantan. The central aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of utilizing Mamanda’s theater arts as a catalyst for collaborative character-building within the realm of education. The collaborative characters, symbolic of the harmonious dynamics inherent in the learning process, undergo evaluation through the implementation of a Likert scale. The research encompasses a cohort of 83 students, all actively engaged as respondents. The outcomes highlight the notably high effectiveness of incorporating Mamanda’s theater arts to facilitate the collaborative character-building endeavor. Beyond its immediate findings, this research contributes substantively to the ongoing academic dialogue surrounding character education. Moreover, it serves as a valuable resource for educators and lecturers, offering insights into the practical application of local wisdom, specifically through Mamanda theater, to instill character traits firmly rooted in cultural richness and educational excellence.

Abstract

In this era of globalization, students in Indonesia face increasingly complex challenges in understanding, addressing, and contributing to global issues. However, the existing curriculum often fails to provide adequate perspectives and skills to tackle these global problems. Therefore, this research aims to provide students with a holistic, practical, and relevant learning experience to address global challenges through a Team-Based Project strategy that integrates compulsory courses in higher education with a global citizenship education approach. Cross-curricular collaboration helps students see the interconnectedness of various disciplines, which is essential in addressing complex global issues. Survey results indicate a variation of views among student groups regarding their understanding of global issues. This innovative learning strategy utilizes principles of behaviorist theory, such as stimulus-response, positive reinforcement, and social interaction, to create an engaging, relevant, and responsive learning environment tailored to students' needs. Through involvement in joint projects focused on global issues, students are stimulated to contribute and take concrete actions in seeking solutions and bringing about positive change on a larger scale. Thus, this learning strategy is expected to enhance students' understanding, skills, and commitment to addressing global challenges in the contemporary era.

Abstract

Abstract

This article examines the need for innovation in animation-based learning media grounded in local wisdom as a strategy to strengthen character education in the digital era. The research problem addressed is the lack of culturally relevant digital learning media that effectively instills character values in students. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a systematic literature review of 15 peer-reviewed journals selected based on relevance, publication credibility, and focus on local wisdom integration in education. Content analysis was used to categorize themes related to the role of animation in enhancing student engagement, cultural identity, and character development. The findings indicate that animation-based learning media incorporating local wisdom can improve students' understanding of cultural heritage while fostering values such as cooperation, mutual respect, and responsibility. Specifically, studies reviewed show that students exposed to culturally relevant animations demonstrate increased interest in learning, stronger emotional connections to the content, and improved retention of moral lessons. Furthermore, this approach supports the preservation of cultural values amidst globalization by reinforcing pride in local traditions and encouraging intergenerational knowledge transfer. Despite these benefits, challenges remain in terms of accessibility, digital literacy among educators, and the need for collaboration between cultural experts and multimedia developers. Future research should explore empirical case studies measuring the direct impact of local wisdom-based animation on students' character formation. This innovation presents a viable solution for developing a generation that is academically proficient and deeply rooted in ethical and cultural values.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of contextual learning models in learning Pancasila Education by utilizing Virtual Reality (VR) technology. The contextual approach is chosen because it is believed able to increase student understanding and engagement through relevant and meaningful learning experiences. The method in this research is using literature study, which involves collecting and analyzing data from various written sources, such as books, scientific journals, articles, and other publications, to gain an in-depth understanding of the topic under study and identify relevant trends and findings. The results show that the use of contextual learning models combined with VR technology can increase student learning motivation, material understanding, and critical thinking skills. Students feel more involved and enthusiastic in the learning process because they can interact directly with the material content through VR simulation. The challenges for implementation is limited access to VR technology, particularly in schools located in remote areas or those with insufficient financial resources. Also designing appropriate and engaging learning materials that align with the curriculum and students' cognitive levels is the major obstacle for implementation. The findings suggest that the integration of VR technology in Pancasila Education learning can be an effective alternative to create a more dynamic and immersive learning experience. It is hoped that this research can be a reference for educators in developing innovative learning strategies that are in accordance with technological developments and educational needs.
