Abstract

Southeast Asia’s booming e-commerce industry underscores consumer loyalty as a strategic asset. Leading Indonesian platforms employ algorithmic personalization to tailor recommendations and interfaces, yet the role of trust in converting personalization into loyalty remains underexplored. Drawing on Social Exchange Theory and the Stimulus-Organism-Response framework, this study examines how personalization influences trust, engagement, satisfaction, and loyalty among Indonesian online shoppers. Data from an online survey of experienced users reveals that personalization enhances engagement and satisfaction, while engagement and trust drive loyalty. Satisfaction alone does not ensure loyalty, but trust fully mediates the personalization–loyalty relationship. The findings highlight trust as the crucial mechanism transforming personalized interventions into sustained loyalty. E-commerce firms should refine personalization algorithms and adopt transparent data practices to foster trust and lasting customer commitment.

Abstract

Rafflesia sp., which was found in the Bukit Batu Tabir Production Forest area on Siantan Island, Anambas Islands Regency, Riau Island Province, became the starting point for further research. However, its existence in relatively unmanaged Production Forests carries a risk of damage from human behavior because the presence of Rafflesia sp. has been known to the public since 2014. Based on the Direction Letter from the Riau Islands Provincial Environment and Forestry Office No. 13/070/1268.1/DLHK-04/2023 Medco E&P Natuna Ltd. together with the Center for Coastal and Marine Resources Studies IPB University, and the Production Forest Administration (KPHP) Unit VI of the Anambas Islands conducted an initial survey to identify species and surrounding habitats and build discussions with multi-stakeholders at the local level for the protection of Rafflesia sp. and their habitat. The research used morphological and observation methods, secondary data references, and discussions with related parties and Tarempa Selatan Village’s government. The research indicated that the species in Bukit Batu Tabir, Siantan Island, was the Rafflesia haseltii species. This is a new finding of R. haseltii in the archipelagic landscape. Previous findings of R. haseltii were found on the mainland of Sumatra and Kalimantan Island. The interviews and discussions with the parties indicated that there are initiatives to protect Rafflesia sp. and its area in a collaborative scheme using the Social Forestry Village Forest mechanism. However, further studies are still required to determine the precise species based on microstructure studies and to strengthen the model of protection and management.

Abstract

High employee turnover (12% in 2023) at Fave Hotel Rungkut Surabaya necessitates a rigorous investigation into retention determinants. This study analyzes the influence of work pressure, pay satisfaction, and work life balance on turnover intention through the lens of Social Exchange Theory. Employing a quantitative explanatory research approach, data were collected from a census of 50 employees using a 4-point forced choice Likert scale. Multiple linear regression analysis reveals that these factors simultaneously explain 66.7% of the variance in turnover intention ( = 0.667). Partially, work pressure emerged as the most dominant positive driver of exit intentions. Notably, the study identifies a "mobility anomaly" where pay satisfaction exerts a significant positive influence (  = 3.002,  = 0.004), suggesting that financial contentment validates employees' perceived market value and catalyzes career migration. Conversely, work life balance acts as a crucial protective anchor with a significant negative effect. These findings challenge traditional assumptions by demonstrating that in competitive hospitality markets, pay satisfaction can drive professional withdrawal. Management is advised to prioritize restorative psychological contracts through life balance initiatives and systematic workload management to mitigate turnover effectively.
