Abstract

The rapid digitalization of financial services has transformed global banking, yet the adoption of Islamic digital banking remains limited in emerging economies. The study examines the effects of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, habit, and personal innovativeness on customers’ behavioral intention to adopt Islamic digital banking. This study investigates the determinants of Islamic digital banking adoption in Indonesia by extending the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 3 (UTAUT3) with Islamic lifestyle as a moderating factor. The research uses quantitative and survey data from 147 active Islamic banking customers across Sumatra and employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that all UTAUT3 constructs significantly and positively influence adoption intention, indicating that both rational–instrumental and behavioral–psychological factors shape digital banking decisions. Furthermore, Islamic lifestyle significantly moderates these relationships, enhancing the impact of technological and behavioral determinants when services align with Islamic values. The study contributes theoretically by integrating UTAUT3 with Islamic Lifestyle Theory and offers practical guidance for Islamic banks and policymakers to design Sharia-compliant digital strategies that combine efficiency with ethical and religious value alignment, highlighting the importance of value congruence in sustainable adoption.

Abstract

In recent years, financial technology has grown rapidly worldwide, including in Indonesia, where the majority Muslim population has encouraged the development of sharia-based financial services. Despite this growth, research on Islamic financial technology remains limited. This study aims to explore public interest in investment activities that channel capital to micro, small, and medium enterprises through sharia peer-to-peer lending. This research uses a quantitative research design and the technology acceptance model as the theoretical framework. Data were collected from active users of one of Indonesia’s sharia peer-to-peer lending platforms. The research variables include perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and religiosity as an extended variable. The findings indicate that perceived ease of use and religiosity positively influence investment interest, whereas perceived usefulness shows no significant effect. These results suggest that user-friendly platform design and alignment with religious values are more critical drivers of investment interest than perceived financial benefits, providing practical implications for Sharia financial technology providers to enhance adoption by focusing on usability and religiosity-based features.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the internal control system for inventory at PT Mestika Makmur Persada Jaya based on the COSO framework and to examine its role in controlling operational risks. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using the case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of informants involved in inventory management. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. To support the qualitative analysis, a percentage-based measurement was applied as a complementary tool to assess the effectiveness level of the internal control system. The results of the study indicate that all components of the COSO framework such as the control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring have been effectively implemented, with an overall effectiveness of 93.33%. The internal control system effectively mitigates operational risks, including stock discrepancies, inventory damage, loss, and shipment errors. These findings demonstrate that a structured internal control system not only ensures reliable inventory information but also enhances operational efficiency. The study contributes both practically by providing recommendations to improve inventory management and academically by supporting the development of managerial accounting and internal audit practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the preferences of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) regarding entrepreneurial interest. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 61 active members of HIPMI UINSU and interviews with selected participants. A total of 30 samples were analyzed using SPSS Version 23 with path analysis. The findings reveal that understanding has no significant effect on entrepreneurial interest, as indicated by a t-value of 0.604 (p = 0.551). Similarly, religiosity does not significantly influence entrepreneurial interest, with a t-value of 0.239 (p = 0.813). In contrast, motivation positively and significantly impacts entrepreneurial interest, as shown by a t-value of 3.322 (p = 0.003). The combined analysis through ANOVA indicates that understanding, religiosity, and motivation collectively have a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial interest. These results align with the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), which highlights the role of positive attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in shaping entrepreneurial intentions. This study underscores motivation as a key driver of entrepreneurial interest among HIPMI UINSU members.

Abstract

The welfare of traditional fishermen remains a persistent challenge in coastal regions despite abundant maritime potential, particularly in Belawan, Indonesia. Previous studies have largely emphasized economic and technical aspects of fisheries development, with limited integration of Islamic economic principles in sustainable welfare strategies. This study aims to examine maritime development strategies to improve fishermen’s welfare through an Islamic economic perspective. This research employs a qualitative field approach with a case study design conducted in Belawan Bahagia and Belawan Bahari sub-districts. Informants were purposively selected from traditional fishermen, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the marketing mix (4Ps) and SWOT framework, supported by IFAS and EFAS matrices. The findings indicate strong internal potential, including high-quality, preservative-free seafood and solid social networks. However, challenges such as limited cold storage, low digital literacy, and dependence on middlemen persist. With an IFAS score of 3.06 and EFAS score of 2.50, fishermen are positioned in an aggressive growth strategy, emphasizing diversification, sharia-based cooperatives, and digital expansion, aligning with maqasid al-shariah values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of trust, working capital, market aspects, and sharia compliance on the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Besitang Regency. MSMEs are a sector that has a strategic role in driving economic growth, but often faces various obstacles in its development. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to MSME actors in the area. The analysis technique used includes multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between independent variables (trust, working capital, market aspects, and sharia compliance) to the dependent variable (MSME development). The data analysis tools used are the classical assumption method, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Trust does not have a significant effect on the development of MSMEs in Besitang Regency, indicated by the trust coefficient value (X1) which is positive (0.066) and the p value is smaller than the significance level (0.623 less than 0.05) and the calculated t (0.439) more than t table (2.368). (2) Working capital does not have a significant effect on the development of MSMEs in Besitang District, indicated by the working capital coefficient value (X2) which is positive (0.011) and the p value is smaller than the significance level (0.909 less than 0.05) and the calculated t (0.115) more than t table (2.368). (3) Market access has a significant effect on the development of MSMEs in Besitang District, indicated by the Market Access coefficient value (X3) which is positive (0.442) and the p value is smaller than the significance level (0.001 less than 0.05) and the calculated t (3.983) more than t table (2.368). (4) Sharia compliance does not have a significant effect on the development of MSMEs in Besitang District, indicated by the positive value of the sharia compliance coefficient (X4) (0.107) and the p-value is smaller than the significance level (0.1139 less than 0.05) and the calculated t value (1.139) more than t table (2.368). (5) Trust, working capital, market access and sharia compliance have a significant effect on the development of MSMEs in Besitang District, indicated by the p-value is smaller than the significance level (0.002 less than 0.05) and the calculated f value (4.587) more than ft table (2.47). and the determination coefficient (R2) value is 0.132 or 13.2%. This value shows that 13.2% of MSME development is influenced by trust, working capital, market access and sharia compliance. while the remaining 86.8% is influenced by independent variables that were not studied. Keywords:

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the factors influencing the decision of UIN Sumatera Utara students to use the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS) of Maybank Securities using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) approach. This model includes variables such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and an additional variable of Islamic financial literacy as a factor that may influence usage decisions. The research employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. Primary data was collected through surveys distributed to UIN Sumatera Utara students who are clients of Maybank Securities. The research sample was determined using the Slovin formula, resulting in 89 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that performance expectancy, social influence, and Islamic financial literacy significantly affect the decision to use SOTS Maybank Securities. Conversely, effort expectancy and facilitating conditions do not have a significant influence. Simultaneously, the variables in the UTAUT model contribute 70.1% to the decision to use SOTS, while other factors beyond this research model influence the remaining 29.9%. These findings suggest that improving Islamic financial literacy and encouragement from the social environment can enhance students' interest in using digital-based Sharia investment services
