Abstract

Efforts to protect the environment were useful to reduce waste of banana tree which can cause global warming from the burning waste of banana tree. One of the effort to reduce waste of banana tree was used the waste as wallet products’ material. In order for wallet products to be able to compete in the market, it was necessary to have the right design to be able to describe the desires of consumers. The purpose of this research was to design a wallet made from waste of banana tree which can fulfill the needs of wallet consumers in the process of sustainable development. Kansei Engineering was used as a method to translate consumer feelings. Validation tests and evaluation were conducted to examine the research hypothesis using a 5% significance level. Consumer desires in the form of Kansei words that were obtained were strong, durable, waterproof, attractive, simple, neat, has a string, smooth, lightweight, environmentally friendly and multifunctional. Among consumers' wishes (Kansei words), consumers wanted the Kansei words to be strong and environmentally friendly which was prioritized in wallet design. The results of this study were obtained midrib of banana tree wallets in accordance with the wishes of the wallet consumers with the criteria of strong, environmentally friendly and multifunctional, moreover attractive because it shows more the original fiber of the midrib`s banana tree.

Abstract

Purple corn contains high levels of bioactive anthocyanins with potential health-promoting effects. This study aimed to quantitatively characterize the anthocyanin profile of an Indonesian purple corn variety and evaluate the pharmacokinetic properties of its major constituents using in silico modelling. The anthocyanin extract was analyzed by HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography), and concentrations were determined using authentic standards. The pharmacokinetic parameters, including absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET), were predicted using the pkCSM platform, and drug-likeness properties were evaluated based on Lipinski’s Rule of Five. Cyanidin-3-glucoside (0.82 mg/100 g DW), peonidin-3-glucoside (0.38 mg/100 g DW), and pelargonidin-3-glucoside (0.35 mg/100 g DW) were identified as the predominant anthocyanins. In silico ADMET predictions using pkCSM revealed low intestinal absorption, moderate peripheral tissue distribution, and violations of Lipinski’s Rule of Five, indicating limited suitability as conventional oral pharmaceuticals. Nevertheless, the compounds exhibited low predicted toxicity, minimal CYP450 inhibition, and favorable excretion profiles, supporting potential safe use as nutraceuticals or functional food ingredients. This integrated approach demonstrates that experimental phytochemical profiling combined with computational pharmacokinetic analysis provides valuable insight into the properties of anthocyanins beyond standard bioavailability studies. The findings provide a foundation for future formulation strategies, such as encapsulation or delivery enhancement, to improve bioavailability and functional activity in foods or dietary supplements. Overall, anthocyanins from Indonesian purple corn are promising safe natural bioactives, warranting further experimental and translational research.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the optimization of the Lingsir Wengi MSME Market in Temuguruh Village as an economic empowerment program designed to overcome the community's dependence on bank plecit practices (illegal loans). Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research analyzes the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the market's sustainability. The results indicate that functionally, the Lingsir Wengi Market has played a significant role in providing alternative livelihoods and creating economic independence, which ultimately reduces the practice of usury-based loans among the community. However, in the aspect of program management and sustainability, the market faces several serious challenges. The main inhibiting factors include the absence of a formal organizational structure or management team fully responsible for the market, lack of product innovation leading to visitor boredom, and fluctuations in the number of business actors. Meanwhile, strong supporting factors are the strategic location, full support from the Village Government, and the enthusiasm of the local community. Based on these findings, the novelty of this research lies in formulating a sustainability strategy based on local wisdom, which includes the establishment of a management team, strengthening digital marketing, and MSME human resource training to ensure long-term program effectiveness. The implication of this study is a policy recommendation emphasizing the importance of managerial professionalism in community-based economic empowerment to ensure program optimization and prevent the community from non-Sharia economic practices.

Abstract

The advantages of EPN (Entomopathogenic Nematodes) as a biological agens are it is safe for the environment, effective in controlling pests found above ground and underground in a relatively fast time, and can be easily propagated. EPN propagation is generally carried out in vivo, namely propagation using insect larva. The larvae that are often used are Tenebrio molitor, Galleria melonella, but these larvae are difficult to provide in large quantities. Therefore, it is necessary to find insect media that are cheap, easy to obtain and easy to use by farmers, one of which is Hermetia illucens larva and Alphitobius diaperinus larva. The study aimed to determine alternative host types for the production of entomopathogenic nematodes. The experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of two factors. There were two tests carried out, namely a single test to determine the nematodes produced from each alternative host and a mortality test of T. molitor larvae. The concentration used for the single test was 200 JI/0.5 ml and was repeated 30 times. The mortality test for T. molitor larvae consisted of the first factor being the dose of EPN, namely 200 JI/ml, 400 JI/ml, 600 JI/ml, 800 JI/ml, and 1000 JI/ml. The second factor is the origin of NEP isolates from various agro-landscapes with 11 treatments repeated 3 times. Based on these several treatments, observations were made on the Lethal Concentration (LC) and the amount of JI production from each test insect. The highest EPN production is using T.molitor from Bangsal soybean isolate up to 4993,8 Juvenil, this production yield was higher than using larvae of A. diaperinus and H. illucens. the highest percentage of mortality in Bangsal soybean isolate with a concentration of 200 ji/ml up to 53.3%.
