Abstract

The Communicative Method or Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is a language teaching approach that emphasizes language ability as a means of communication. In the context of Arabic language learning for first-semester students (beginners), this method is considered relevant as it addresses low learning motivation, limited vocabulary mastery, and students’ lack of confidence. This article aims to examine the concepts, principles, and implementation of the communicative method in Arabic language learning for first-year students of the Islamic Economic Law Program at UIN Ar-Raniry. The research method employed is a library study by analyzing various literature sources related to CLT and Arabic language teaching. The results of the study indicate that the communicative method is effective in increasing students’ active participation, speaking confidence, and mastery of basic Arabic language skills in a contextual and functional manner.

Abstract

Students’ learning outcomes in biology remain relatively low, primarily due to instructional methods that fail to actively engage learners. This gap is crucial, as current curricula emphasize student-centered learning and the development of 21st-century skills. One promising solution is the implementation of the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) model, which encourages students to discover concepts independently with structured guidance while keeping them actively involved. This study aims to analyze the impact of GDL on student learning outcomes through a literature review. This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method through a literature review of national journal articles. Articles were obtained from google scholar using the keywords guided discovery learning model, student learning outcomes, and biology education. The data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings show that GDL-related publications peaked in twenty twenty-two. All selected studies found the GDL model effective in improving cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes, as well as motivation, engagement, and critical thinking. Thus, GDL is recommended as an effective instructional model in biology education.Abstrak. Hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi masih tergolong rendah, terutama disebabkan oleh metode pembelajaran yang kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Kesenjangan ini menjadi masalah penting karena kurikulum merdeka menuntut pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan mampu mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21. Salah satu alternatif solusi yang ditawarkan adalah penerapan model pembelajaran Guided Discovery Learning (GDL). Model ini memberikan bimbingan kepada siswa dalam proses penemuan konsep, sehingga siswa tetap aktif namun tidak kehilangan arah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh model GDL terhadap hasil belajar siswa melalui studi literatur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik telaah literatur terhadap artikel nasional. Artikel diperoleh dari database google scholar menggunakan kata kunci model pembelajaran guided discovey learning, hasil belajar siswa, dan pendidikan biologi. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan analisis isi (content analysis). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa publikasi terkait model GDL meningkat dalam lima tahun terakhir, dengan puncak pada tahun 2022. Dari 10 artikel yang dianalisis, seluruhnya menyatakan bahwa model ini efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, baik secara kognitif, afektif, maupun psikomotor. GDL juga terbukti meningkatkan motivasi, keaktifan, dan berpikir kritis siswa, sehingga relevan diterapkan untuk mengatasi rendahnya hasil belajar Biologi di sekolah. Dengan demikian, model GDL direkomendasikan sebagai model pembelajaran yang efektif dalam pembelajaran biologi.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of using the Ensiklopedia Hadis 9 Imam application in supporting the digital-based takhrij hadith process. The increasing use of digital platforms in hadith studies requires critical evaluation of data accuracy, feature reliability, and relevance to research needs. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive method with data collection through literature study, direct observation of application features, and interviews with active users. The results show that this application can accelerate the process of searching for hadith, facilitate the identification of sanad and matn, and provide quick access to translations and basic information about narrators. However, a number of limitations were found, such as the lack of in-depth sanad analysis, dependence on manual verification using classical sources, and restrictions on certain features for non-premium users. This study concludes that the application is effective as an initial tool, but cannot replace the more comprehensive traditional takhrij methodology. Based on these findings, the study recommends that the use of digital applications always be followed by verification in the main books and scientific literature to maintain the validity and integrity of hadith studies.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a web-based inmate visiting service system at the Class IIA Binjai Correctional Facility to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for the public. The research method includes system requirements analysis, structured design approach, and implementation using web technologies that enable online visit registration. The system is designed to minimize queues, reduce administrative errors, and provide real-time visiting schedule information for both visitors and officers. The results of this study indicate that the developed system is capable of enhancing the quality of visiting services, accelerating administrative processes, and supporting more integrated and secure data management within the correctional facility environment.

Abstract

Hypertension is a prevalent health issue among the elderly, contributing to severe cardiovascular complications. Indonesia’s 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) reported that hypertension affects more than 50% of older adults aged 65–74 years. This community service program aimed to improve elderly knowledge and skills in hypertension prevention through Banjar language-based education and the use of cucumber infused water as a complementary approach. A participatory method was applied, involving lecturers, students, and 30 elderly residents at Uma Kandung Social Nursing Home, Banjarmasin. Activities included blood pressure measurement, health education in Banjar language, cucumber infused water preparation, blood pressure monitoring practice, and evaluation with pre- and post-tests. Findings indicated improved knowledge from 40% to 83% and a reduction in systolic blood pressure by 8–10 mmHg and diastolic by 5–7 mmHg. Participants also showed higher motivation for routine monitoring and healthier lifestyles. In conclusion, integrating culturally based education with cucumber infused water is effective in enhancing health literacy and promoting hypertension control behaviors among the elderly.

Abstract

Institution X are non-profit organizations that provide alternative care for orphaned children. Institution X in Aceh shows complaints from agency managers and children, one of which is related to the ability to regulate the emotions of caregivers which ultimately has an impact on foster children. Therefore, this study aims to see the effectiveness of the effect of gratitude training on caregivers' emotion regulation. This study used a mix-method approach, namely quantitative methods using simple regression analysis and qualitative methods through observation, worksheets and evaluation. The subjects of this study consisted of 25 caregivers at Institution X in Banda Aceh and Meulaboh. The results of this study indicate an increase in gratitude training on emotional regulation with an increase in score of 1.24 points with posttest results (M = 72.24, SD = 6.60) higher than pretest (M = 71, SD = 6.11). This is reinforced by the magnitude of the contribution of gratitude to emotional regulation from the value of R2 = 0.081, which means that there is as much as 8% of the influence of gratitude on emotional regulation.
