Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital literacy and technostress on the performance of State Civil Apparatus (ASN), with employee engagement as a mediator variable. This quantitative study with a causal design was conducted in four sub-districts in Indragiri Hilir Regency, namely Reteh, Sungai Batang, Enok, and Tanah Merah, involving a total of 104 ASN as respondents. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, and data analysis adopted a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS software version 3.2.9. The analysis revealed that digital literacy has a positive and significant influence on employee engagement. However, digital literacy does not have a significant direct influence on ASN performance. On the other hand, technostress was not proven to have a significant influence on either employee engagement or ASN performance. Furthermore, employee engagement does not function as a mediator in the relationship between digital literacy and technostress with ASN performance. These findings indicate that in the context of sub-district-level government, the determining factors of ASN performance tend to be more influenced by structural aspects and the work environment than by psychological variables such as employee engagement or individual competency factors such as digital literacy and technostress.

Abstract

Pinus merkusii Jung. Devr. is a multipurpose tree species that is widely cultivated for timber, resin production, and land conservation. Nearly all parts of the tree are utilized, making it highly valuable. However, the high demand for its products is not met by its low natural regenerative capacity, which poses challenges for sustainable management. To address this, somatic embryogenesis, an in vitro propagation technique, has been explored as an alternative method for multiplying conifer species like Pinus merkusii. This study aims to assess the in vitro response of megagametophyte explants cultured on DCR medium with various combinations of 2,4-D and kinetin. The concentrations of 2,4-D tested were 0 µM, 7 µM, 9 µM, and 11 µM, while kinetin was tested at 0 µM, 2 µM, 3 µM, and 4 µM. The explants used were megagametophytes from female strobili measuring 5-7 cm, containing young zygotic embryos in the preembryo stage. After two months of cultivation in the dark, the explants exhibited responses such as enlargement, callus formation, and germination. The highest response rates for explant enlargement, callus formation, and germination were observed in the combinations of DK00 and DK04 (33.33%), DK70 and DK114 (33.33%), and DK72 and DK114 (44.44%). No somatic embryo formation was observed, possibly due to the age of the explants.

Abstract

The growing emphasis on conceptual understanding has led to increasing interest in mental models within science education. Despite this development, studies that systematically map research trends, thematic structures, and focal areas across high school and university contexts remain limited. This study examines the evolution of mental model research in science learning by combining bibliometric analysis with a systematic review. Data were drawn from the Scopus database (2015–2025), resulting in 96 articles for bibliometric mapping and 14 articles for in-depth review focused on biology education. The findings indicate a steady rise in publications, with dominant themes centered on conceptual understanding, misconceptions, and assessment development, particularly in physics and chemistry. In contrast, research in biology education remains relatively scarce and largely descriptive, with limited attention to instructional interventions targeting mental model reconstruction. These results underscore the need for studies integrating multiple representations and continuous diagnostic assessment to foster more meaningful biology learning.

Abstract

With the growth of the industry, it is increasingly encouraging the emergence of environmental problems, namely the increasing level of exposure to noise (TWA - Time Weighted Average) both in the work environment and in the surrounding environment, especially from the sound of production machines which can cause hearing loss and communication work accidents caused by two groups, namely , human actions that do not meet the requirements of a healthy life and unsafe environmental conditions. 80-85% of work accidents are caused by negligence or human error. Existing human factors generally affect PPE on the grounds that the use of PPE is considered to interfere with work and has a less protective effect. Continuous noise is noise that occurs continuously and is not interrupted. In the CV Baja Sumatra industry, pressing activities are often carried out and emit continuous noise. The aim is to describe the use of ear protection devices in the workforce and measure noise levels in the steel pressing section as well as review the impact on workers, and seek information about worker health benefits. As input for workers about the importance of wearing ear protection and the dangers of noise.
