Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) consist of three pillars: economic, social and environmental. It has been observed that the environmental pillar in Malang City has declined, while the economic and social pillar have increased, indicating that economic and human activities in general have a big influence on reducing environmental quality. This research focuses on evaluating sustainable budget allocation strategies that support the environmental pillar. Budget efficiency analysis was used to assess SDGs achievement in Malang City from 2019 to 2022. Based on the calculation results of this research, Malang City's budgeting efficiency was in the "very poor" category during the 2019-2022 period. It was also observed that the best budget allocation strategy occurred in 2022. In addition, this research shows that the budget allocation strategy is sorted based on the immediacy of need into four budget allocation priorities. The priority grouping can be used as a sustainable budget allocation strategy, especially in the event of limited budget. From a socio-economic point of view, government policy is also a contributing factor with a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, it is hoped that the sustainable budget allocation strategy can serve as a solution to continue paying attention to and improve environmental quality while growing the economy.JEL Classification H72; Q51; R58

Abstract

Education is of paramount importance in shaping a nation's character. This is particularly relevant in Indonesia, where the President of Indonesia has prioritized the Merdeka Curriculum across all levels of education. This curriculum is being implemented at the early childhood education (ECD) level following government policy guidelines in Permendikbud ristek Number 5/2022. This research uses a qualitative case study research method with the CIPP evaluation model at Kharisma Kindergarten Malang to investigate the evaluation of the implementation of economic learning in the Merdeka Curriculum in ECD education. The study employed purposive sampling to select Kharisma Kindergarten Teachers in Malang, School Supervisors in Malang Regency, and the Head of the Early Childhood Education Section in Malang Regency. The results of qualitative research using the triangulation method show that the Merdeka Curriculum has been implemented 90% at the kindergarten level. In detail, the results of interviews with the head of curriculum at Kharisma Kindergarten show that the Merdeka Curriculum was implemented at school 100% in 2024. However, the researchers identified obstacles regarding teacher and parent paradigms and limited facilities, which prevented the curriculum from being successfully implemented. Therefore, teachers, parents, and students need to accept new teaching methods and ideas if the Merdeka Curriculum is to work well in ECD education.

Abstract

ASEAN member states have proactively taken steps to address climate change issues at the national, regional and global levels. However, the rapid growth of the global economy and human activities on climate is increasing and has become a cause of environmental damage. This study aims to examine the effect of economic growth (GDP), foreign investment (FDI), population and energy consumption on CO2 emissions and examine the determinants of dynamic interaction of long- and short-term relationships using fixed effects panel data models and vector error correction models (VECM) for five ASEAN countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam using panel data with a time span of 1997 to 2020. The results of the fixed effects panel model test confirmed that economic growth, foreign investment and energy consumption affect CO2 emissions while population has no effect on CO2 emissions. In simultaneous testing, economic growth, foreign investment, population and energy consumption variables jointly affect CO2 in ASEAN countries. In addition, the VECM test results confirm that economic growth, foreign investment and energy consumption affect the CO2 of ASEAN countries in the long run, while population has no effect on CO2 of ASEAN countries in the long run. Other findings confirmed the existence of homogeneous causality relationship of GDP and FDI to CO2 and vice versa CO2 has homogeneous causality relationship to GDP and FDI. Population and Consumption have heterogeneous causality relationship to CO2. These variables are different in different situations and in different countries. The above results are expected that stakeholders can formulate appropriate policies.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in Indonesia's economy, but still face challenges in terms of human resource capacity and technology adoption. This research aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurship education and business mentoring on the success of community-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nganjuk Regency. Using a quantitative approach with the stratified random sampling technique, this research involves 196 MSMEs as respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The research results show that entrepreneurship education (β=0.338) and business mentoring (β=0.425) have a positive and significant impact on the success of MSMEs, both partially and simultaneously (R²=0.394). These findings imply the importance of integrating entrepreneurship education programs and business mentoring in efforts to develop community-based MSMEs.

Abstract

Social media penetration reaching 60% of Indonesia’s population has transformed public health information-seeking patterns. The phenomenon of Self-Diagnose through social media, particularly among adolescents, poses significant health risks. This article employs a systematic literature review to analyze health communication strategies for mitigating Self-Diagnose risks. Results indicate that social media platform algorithms create echo chambers that promote normalization of health conditions and increase Self-Diagnose behaviors. Health misinformation spreads exponentially through viral sharing mechanisms. Effective communication strategies must integrate source credibility, accurate content quality, and optimal distribution mechanisms. The “Your Social Media is Not Your Doctor!” campaign is recommended to shift public paradigms. Comprehensive digital health communication policies through multisectoral collaboration are required.
