Abstract

Karangsong is the largest fishing village in Indramayu. The Karangsong community, dominated by fishermen, has a distinctive linguistic identity reflected in the lexicon of maritime activities understood only by the local coastal people. Therefore, it is important to explore this lexicon as an effort to document the linguistic wealth of the Indramayu coastal community. This study aims to: (1) describe the linguistic situation of the Karangsong community; (2) identify the lexicon of fish names, fishing transportation, ship parts, fishing equipment, and fishing activities; and (3) explore the cultural portrait of the Karangsong community. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnolinguistic approach. The data consist of the linguistic activities of the Karangsong coastal community collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires involving captains, boat builders, fishermen, and local residents. The results show that: (1) the Karangsong community has a wide variety of marine lexicon understood only by Indramayu’s coastal people; (2) this lexicon appears in the naming of fish, boats, boat parts, fishing tools, and activities; and (3) besides distinctive linguistic characteristics, the Karangsong community also holds beliefs, traditions, and folklore that shape their cultural identity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi perempuan dalam konteks ekonomi rumah tangga modern pada konten Sepuluh Ribu di Tangan Istri yang Tepat di media sosial TikTok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah berciri kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis model Sara Mills. Sumber data berasal dari konten video TikTok tersebut di atas dan komentar pengguna. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi, observasi isi wacana, dan studi pustaka. Langkah-langkah analisis mencakup identifikasi video, penentuan posisi subjek-objek, penentuan posisi penonton dan penarikan simpulan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa wacana Sepuluh Ribu di Tangan Istri yang Tepat tidak semata mereproduksi ideologi patriarki, tetapi juga membuka ruang negosiasi dan resistensi perempuan terhadap hal ini. Melalui dinamika posisi subjek–objek, wacana ini menghadirkan dialektika antara kepatuhan dan perlawanan, idealisasi dan realitas, serta dominasi dan agensi perempuan. selanjutnya, melalui analisis posisi penonton, diketahui bahwa posisi penonton terhadap wacana tersebut bersifat aktif, reflektif, dan kritikal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze online news texts using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis (CDA) approach. The research employs Fairclough’s three-dimensional CDA model with data sourced from online news articles published by Kompas.com. The data were collected through documentation techniques involving news texts relevant to issues of sexual violence. The analysis was conducted across three dimensions: description (text), interpretation (discursive practice), and explanation (social practice). The findings reveal that the media present information in a neutral and formal linguistic style, yet implicitly obscure the position of victims while reinforcing institutional narratives. Victims are rarely given adequate representational space, whereas perpetrators are often protected through euphemistic expressions or the omission of identity. At the level of social practice, the media indirectly contribute to the reproduction of patriarchal structures and unequal power relations. Thus, language in media texts functions not merely as a tool of communication but also as an ideological instrument that shapes public interpretations of sexual violence cases. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis teks pemberitaan media online dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis model Norman Fairclough. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis model Norman Fairclough dengan sumber data berupa berita daring dari media Kompas.com. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi terhadap teks berita yang relevan dengan isu kekerasan seksual. Analisis dilakukan melalui tiga dimensi, yakni deskripsi (teks), interpretasi (praktik wacana), dan eksplanasi (praktik sosial). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media menyampaikan informasi dengan gaya bahasa yang netral dan formal, tetapi secara tidak langsung mengaburkan posisi korban dan memperkuat narasi dari pihak institusi. Korban jarang diberi ruang representasi dalam berita, sementara pelaku sering kali dilindungi dengan penggunaan istilah eufemistik atau penghapusan identitas. Dalam konteks praktik sosial, media secara tidak langsung turut mereproduksi struktur sosial yang patriarkis dan relasi kuasa yang timpang. Dengan demikian, bahasa dalam teks media bukanlah sekadar alat komunikasi, tetapi juga instrumen ideologis yang memengaruhi cara publik memaknai peristiwa kekerasan seksual.

Abstract

The research aimed to see a relevance of the preservation of the Javanese language in Javanese conversations that Ganjar Pranowo carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. The resulting data was about the level in the language that included word level, phrase level, and sentence level. Also, several manners, unggah ungguh, and ethics were produced that could become examples or role models for the people of Central Java. The research applied a qualitative method. The data source was the utterances contained in the uploads of Ganjar Pranowo in the form of video recordings that included primary data in the form of utterances or parts of spoken speech from various speeches and communications from the people of Central Java with Ganjar Pranowo. The results show that preservation of the Javanese language through conversations between leaders and the community has positive implications. This means that the preservation of the Javanese language is carried out optimally in the social sphere. This activity is well recorded and uploaded on social media, Ganjar Pranowo, a figure who has high credibility. The social sphere is an important component used to preserve Javanese language, culture, and traditions.

Abstract

The research aimed to describe dimensions of the Mayor of Surakarta’s (2016-2021) Javanese COVID-19 posters. The research design was qualitative with Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) paradigm. The research data were the two Javanese COVID-19 posters retrieved from the Mayor of Surakarta’s (2016-2021) Instagram account. Data were analyzed in three stages: (1) Analyzing linguistically by paying attention to textual and linguistic elements, (2) Analyzing its discourse process, and (3) Analyzing by examining the sociocultural context. This research finds three dimensions: (1) textual dimension; those posters are constructed by the Javanese language with a persuasive-educative form. Also, there is a relationship between consumers and producers that are interwoven in power and cultural relations. (2) Discourse practice dimension, the process of production, distribution, and consumption, shows that the poster is produced and distributed directly by the ruling institution through social media and is intended to be consumed by Surakarta’s citizens. Also, there are intertextual refers to the central government regulations. (3) Socio-cultural dimension, three levels are found. Those three levels are the situational, institutional, and social levels, which show that the poster is influenced by pandemic situations and contexts beyond the language, such as Surakarta’s cultural context and social conditions. Based on these dimensionalities, the poster is functioned by the Mayor of Surakarta’s Institution to persuade, educate, andinfluence the citizen, also to respond to the COVID-19 situation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited use of literary works, especially short story anthologies, as a medium for revealing the author's worldview in the context of literary learning. The focus of this research is the short story anthology Tukar Takdir by Valiant Budi, which is considered representative of contemporary Indonesian society's collective consciousness. The purpose of this research is to describe the author's worldview in the anthology by examining the story structure, character conflicts, and cultural symbols used. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through document analysis, observation, and interviews, and validity is established through theoretical triangulation. Data analysis is carried out using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and result verification. The main data of this research are the texts of the short stories in Tukar Takdir and supporting documentation from the author and readers. The results of this research show that the author's worldview is reflected in the character conflicts and the storyline that depicts the dialectic between individual fate and social structure. This finding confirms that literary works are not only aesthetic but also represent ideology and social awareness, serving as a medium for critical learning. In conclusion, Tukar Takdir is not just an anthology of short stories but rather a representation of the author's worldview, relevant to contemporary social problems, and with great potential to support reflective, dialogical, and transformative literary learning.

Abstract

Sistem pengajaran di Indonesia sekarang ini lebih cenderung menekankan pada kemampuan berpikir dan target prestasi, sambil sering mengesampingkan peran pembentukan watak serta prinsip sosial dalam kegiatan belajar. Karena alasan itu, penyertaan elemen budaya daerah, khususnya dari prinsip Bugis seperti mali siparappe dan rebba sipatokkong, menjadi sangat vital untuk membentuk kerangka pendidikan yang lebih utuh dan berpusat pada sisi manusiawi. Tulisan ini dimaksudkan untuk menyajikan serta merekomendasikan penggunaan kedua prinsip tersebut sebagai strategi humanis dalam mengajar Bahasa Indonesia. Langkah ini diharapkan mampu memperdalam wawasan bahasa sekaligus membangun kepribadian murid. Berdasarkan gagasan pengajaran humanis yang dikembangkan oleh Carl Rogers dan Abraham Maslow, ditambah dengan metode pedagogi yang terkait konteks, tulisan ini menyarankan agar nilai budaya Bugis dimasukkan ke dalam penyusunan program sekolah serta Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). Pendekatan semacam ini bertujuan menghadirkan suasana belajar yang ramah dan saling dukung, sehingga murid tidak hanya memperoleh kemampuan berpikir tapi juga mengembangkan rasa memahami, ketegasan, serta keterampilan bergaul yang krusial untuk menghadapi beragam isu di kemudian hari. Dengan demikian, menjadi sangat esensial untuk merancang program dan RPP yang berakar pada nilai budaya setempat demi mencetak generasi yang lebih mudah beradaptasi dan beretika mulia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of the slametan tradition as local wisdom in contextual learning through a literature review of 20 relevant articles. The study was conducted using the systematic literature review method which involves the process of identification, selection, and thematic analysis of articles that contain the development of teaching materials, local cultural integration, and innovative learning approaches. The results of the synthesis show that most of the studies apply ADDIE development and research and development models, as well as utilize the local cultural context as a reinforcement of learning meaning. The integration of cultural values, including the slametan tradition, has been proven to be able to improve concept understanding, cultural literacy, and student learning engagement through learning experiences that are closer to social reality. Previous research also confirms that local wisdom makes a significant contribution to character building, appreciation for diversity, and strengthening cultural identity. However, there is still a research gap related to the systematic use of local traditions in contextual learning in schools. These findings show that the integration of local wisdom needs to be formulated in the form of teaching materials or a more structured learning model. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of using local culture, especially the slamutan tradition, to enrich the learning context and increase the relevance of the material for students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengungkapkan fenomena kepribadian dalam novel Suluh Rindu yang diungkapkan melalui perilaku tokoh yang diceritakan. Menarik untuk dapat mengkaji karya sastra dari perspektif pendekatan psikologi sastra dan teori analisis kepribadian. Hal tersebut sesuai dengan temuan Sigmund Freud 1923 (sebagaimana dikutip Alwisol, 2018, hlm. 15) bahwa, “Kepribadian manusia terbagi menjadi tiga sistem yang dinamakan id, ego, dan superego.” Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan: 1) Kepribadian tokoh utama dalam novel Suluh Rindu yang terdiri dari kepribadian id, kepribadian ego, dan kepribadian superego; 2) Nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel Suluh Rindu terdiri dari religiusitas, nasionalis, mandiri, gotong royong, dan integritas; dan 3) Pemanfaatan novel Suluh Rindu sebagai bahan ajar Apresiasi Sastra di SMA Kelas XII sesuai dengan Capaian Pembelajaran (CP) Elemen Membaca dan Memirsa Fase F Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar yang terdiri dari gambaran psikis dan resensi novel sesuai dengan isi atau materi, penyajian, bahasa, dan kegrafikaan novel. Teknik pengambilan sampel data adalah purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah analisis dokumen berupa buku dan wawancara dengan informan. Teknik uji validitas data adalah triangulasi teori dan sumber data.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to describe and analyze: (1) the types of speech act between students and teachers dialogue in the Indonesian language learning situation at SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar, and (2) the influence factors of speech act between students and teachers dialogue in Indonesian language learning at SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar. This research is belong to a qualitative desciptive research which was conducted from June 2017 to December 2018. The primary data’s source in this research is the informan such as students and Indonesian language’s teachers, and also the speech act between them at Indonesian language’s learning . This research uses purposive sampling technique. Data validity uses a source’s and theori’s triangulation, while the data analysis using an interactive model that includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of data analysis, the speech act which often used is illocusion with 37,5 % of percentage, locusion 73 %, and perlocusion 27,5 %. The speech act’s factors between teachers and students in Indonesian learning are the participants, the aim of speech act, the situation, context, which path, media, and the event of speech act.
