Abstract

This study aims to determine how much influence the STEAM approach has on overall scientific literacy based on educational level, region and also learning materias. This study uses a meta-analysis research design and is quantitative in nature. With the help of Publish or Perish, which is indexed by SINTA, data was gathered using the PRISMA rules, which were obtained via Google Scholar, during the February 2021–2025 time frame. Nine articles that satisfied the predetermined criteria were identified from the 636 articles in the initial data set. JASP-0.19.3.0 software helped with the study's data analysis. The study's findings demonstrated that the STEAM approach significantly improved students' overall scientific literacy (effect size of 0.580, including the moderate category), as well as their learning materials (effect size of 0.580, including the moderate category), educational level (effect size of 0.575, including the moderate category), and region (effect size of 0.585, including the moderate category). Overall, it can be said that students' scientific literacy skills are significantly improved by the STEAM approach.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of use of varied, creative and innovative learning media in the classroom so that students often feel bored or have difficulty absorbing learning material. Therefore, researchers are encouraged to develop google web-based digital mini book learning media for junior high school biology science subjects. This study uses research and development (R&D) methods, while the procedures in this study use a 4D development model consisting of define, design, development and disseminate. The product validation stage involves 2 media, material, and language validators. The product trial sample was applied to small groups involving 20 people while the field test involved 60 grade VIII students. The results of the research show that the resulting media product is a mini book digital web-based google sites that have been validated by expert validators obtained an average score of 3,98 (media expert), 3,795 (material expert), and 3,87 (language expert) with the criteria “Valid” and feasible used. In addition, in the small group test the student response questionnaire obtained an average score of 3,815, while in the field test an average score of 3,845 was obtained in the “Very Interesting” category.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach in elementary education through a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA 2020 framework. Using Publish or Perish software, 996 studies were initially identified from Google Scholar, and 27 empirical articles published between 2021 and 2024 met the inclusion criteria. The analysis revealed that STEAM-based learning significantly improved students’ critical thinking (N-Gain = 0.48–0.86), problem-solving (t = 2.874 > 1.980), creativity, and learning motivation (increase of 76-93%). The integration of STEAM with models such as Project-Based Learning (PjBL), Guided Inquiry, and Augmented Reality media enhanced contextual understanding and engagement. Findings demonstrate that STEAM is a flexible and transformative educational framework that bridges cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. These results contribute to curriculum innovation, offering practical implications for teachers, policymakers, and curriculum designers in promoting 21st-century learning competencies.

Abstract

Rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik masih menjadi tantangan dalam pembelajaran abad ke-21. Hasil studi pendahuluan di salah satu SMP di Bandar Lampung menunjukkan bahwa capaian indikator berpikir kreatif seperti kelancaran, keluwesan, keaslian, dan elaborasi berada di bawah 60% dan termasuk kategori rendah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam mengungkapkan ide, kurang percaya diri, dan cenderung pasif dalam pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menganalisis kontribusi model pembelajaran Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition (AIR) berbantuan Performance Assessment terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi experimental, dengan desain The Matching Only Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari kelas VII.8 dengan 32 peserta didik sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas VII.9 dengan 30 peserta didik sebagai kelompok kontrol, yang dipilih melalui cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif yang kuat antara model AIR berbantuan asesmen kinerja dengan keterampilan berpikir kreatif, dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,75. Nilai R Square sebesar 0,56 menunjukkan bahwa model ini memberikan kontribusi sebesar 56% dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif secara signifikan, yang termasuk kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, model AIR berbantuan asesmen kinerja efektif mendorong peserta didik untuk lebih aktif, kreatif, dan inovatif dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea refers to menstrual pain frequently encountered by adolescent girls, which can significantly disrupt their daily activities. The severity of dysmenorrhea can be influenced by factors such as anemia and nutritional status. A survey conducted among 46 high school and vocational students revealed that 39 students reported experiencing menstrual pain, while 7 did not. Additionally, students expressed feelings of fatigue, exhaustion, lethargy, and weakness during their menstrual periods.The objective of this study was to investigate the correlation between the occurrence of anemia and the intensity of dysmenorrhea among high school/vocational students. Utilizing an analytical survey method with a cross-sectional design, the study included a population of 306 students, from which a random sample of 73 was selected. Data were gathered using questionnaires. The findings indicated that only a few students suffered from severe dysmenorrhea, yet more than half exhibited signs of anemia. A significant relationship was identified between anemia and the severity of dysmenorrhea among the participants.In conclusion, the study highlights that anemia is associated with increased dysmenorrhea severity. It emphasizes the need for schools to enhance health facilities for female students experiencing dysmenorrhea and to provide education on the importance of reproductive health.

Abstract

Anemia in adolescent girls is a major public health problem that can persist into adulthood and contribute to increased maternal mortality, prematurity, low birth weight, and perinatal death. Data from the Padang City Health Office reported that the prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls at vocational high schools (SMKN) reached 37.5%. This study aimed to identify risk factors associated with anemia among adolescent girls at SMKN in 2019. A case–control study was conducted from January to March 2019 involving female students in grades X and XI. The sample consisted of 32 anemia cases and 32 non-anemia controls. Hemoglobin levels were measured using the Easy Touch GCHb device. Dietary intake of protein, vitamin C, and iron was assessed using a Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQFFQ), while infectious diseases were identified through questionnaires. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with Chi-square tests and Odds Ratios. The results showed that protein intake (p = 0.00; OR = 7.667), vitamin C intake (p = 0.00; OR = 5.000), and infectious diseases (p = 0.01; OR = 3.571) were significantly associated with anemia. Iron intake was not identified as a significant risk factor (p = 0.64; OR = 1.552). In conclusion, anemia prevalence among adolescent girls at SMK Negeri 03 Padang remains high. Efforts to improve nutritional intake, particularly protein, vitamin C, and iron, are strongly recommended to reduce anemia risk and improve adolescent health outcomes.

Abstract

Science education plays a vital role in the development of science and technology, especially in an era that demands the integration of science, technology, and society. The Science, Technology, and Society (STM) learning model provides a holistic approach to teaching energy concepts by connecting scientific knowledge with social contexts and value considerations. This study aims to examine the effect of the STM learning model on students’ learning outcomes related to value-based energy concepts. The research employed a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest posttest method. The STM learning model was applied by linking energy topics with real-life issues and societal values. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and student response questionnaires. The results indicate that students responded positively to the implementation of the STM model, with 40% of students showing the highest level of positive response. However, student interest in conventional physics learning activities remained the lowest response indicator.The findings suggest that integrating societal and value aspects into energy instruction can enhance student engagement and conceptual understanding. The STM learning model helps bridge theoretical knowledge with its relevance to daily life. To further improve student interest, the use of varied instructional strategies such as discussions and field observations is recommended to create a more meaningful learning environment.

Abstract

Literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan merupakan kompetensi esensial yang perlu dimiliki peserta didik dalam menghadapi permasalahan lingkungan global melalui pembelajaran biologi. Namun, praktik pembelajaran di sekolah belum sepenuhnya mampu mengembangkan kedua kompetensi tersebut secara optimal. Salah satu pendekatan yang berpotensi meningkatkan literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan adalah pendekatan STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan pendekatan STEAM dalam pembelajaran Biologi terhadap literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan peserta didik kelas X SMA. Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan populasi seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung. Sampel ditentukan melalui teknik cluster random sampling, dengan kelas X.4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X.5 sebagai kelas kontrol, masing-masing berjumlah 30 peserta didik. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes literasi sains dan angket sikap peduli lingkungan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan STEAM berpengaruh terhadap literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan dari peserta didik (p < 0,05).

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis yang disertai dengan tingginya anxienty yang ada dalam diri peserta didik menjadi salah satu faktor penghambat terbesar dalam proses pembelajaran. Pembelajaran yang efektif akan mampu mengubah kemampuan berpikir kritis menjadi tinggi dan mengurangi anxienty peserta didik melalui penggunaan model yang tepat oleh pendidik. Pemilihan model pembelajaran oleh pendidik menjadikan pusat kesuksesan seorang peserta didik dalam belajar, untuk menghasilkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik lagi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Means Ends Analysis berbasis mind mapping terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan anxienty peserta didik kelas X pada mata pelajaran biologi di SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan weak eksperimental design dengan The One-Group Pretest-Postest Control Group Design dan teknik sampling yang dilakukan yaitu teknik acak kelas dengan perolehan penelitian di kelas (X MIPA 3, X MIPA 4, dan X MIPA 5). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan telah diuji kevalidan yang menghasilkan 10 soal tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berupa essay, 30 pernyataan angket anxienty dan 30 pernyataan angket respon peserta didik. Analisis data menggunakan Uji Manova dengan perolehan nilai N-gain kemampuan berpikir kritis kelas X MIPA 3 sebesar 0,65, X MIPA 4 sebesar 0,70 dan X MIPA 5 sebesar 0,62, nilai G-gain anxienty kelas X MIPA 3 sebesar 0,97, X MIPA 4 sebesar 0,84 dan X MIPA 5 sebesar 0,97. Disimpulkan dengan perolehan nilai signifikasi 0,000 < 0,05 artinya bahwa adanya pengaruh model Means Ends Analysis berbasis mind mapping terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan anxienty peserta didik kelas X di SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

Salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki anak untuk dapat belajar di abad ke-21 adalah literasi lingkungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa kelas X biologi di SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Quasy Experimental Design dan bersifat kuantitatif. Strategi pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling dari semua kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan sebanyak dua kali dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa soal tes dan survei literasi lingkungan, baik untuk tes awal (pretest) maupun tes akhir (posttest). Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah Independent Samples Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan peningkatan signifikan sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa. Berdasarkan simpulan penelitian, model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja memberikan pengaruh terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa kelas X di SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung.
