Abstract

The development of science and technology in the 21st century necessitates strong scientific literacy among students, yet Indonesian students' PISA scores in this area remain low. Conventional physics teaching materials often lack interactivity and fail to engage students actively, especially for abstract topics like momentum and impulse. This research addresses the gap by developing guided inquiry-based teaching materials assisted by virtual laboratories (V-Lab) for momentum and impulse, aiming to improve senior high school students' scientific literacy. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method focusing on the define, design, and develop stages. Module feasibility was assessed through validation by material and media experts using questionnaires (1-4 Likert scale), yielding quantitative scores and qualitative feedback. Initial field testing involved 32 10th-grade students and utilized readability questionnaires, learning interest questionnaires, and pre-post science literacy tests, analyzed descriptively. Results showed high feasibility: material expert validation at 91.6% (Very Good) and media expert validation at 84.0% (Very Good). Qualitative feedback affirmed the module's strengths and provided suggestions for refinement. Initial field testing indicated very good student readability (86.3%) and learning interest (82.0%). Science literacy improved from a pre-test average of 45.2% to a post-test average of 75.8%, with a Normalized Gain (N-Gain) of 0.56 (Medium effectiveness). The study concludes that the developed V-Lab assisted guided inquiry teaching materials are highly feasible and effective for enhancing students' science literacy. The module offers a valuable, interactive resource for physics education, with potential for wider application

Abstract

This research was motivated by the results of UNESCO and PISA which stated that the literacy rate in Indonesia is still low, especially in beginning reading in elementary school students. The purpose of this study was to measure the initial reading ability of elementary school students, especially in grade I students. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling techniques. In obtaining data, researchers conducted initial tests (pretest) and final tests (posttest) in the form of preliminary reading tests, observation sheets and interviews. The data technique used is to use descriptive analysis techniques and descriptive statistical analysis by testing hypotheses using t-test statistics.. The data obtained are then analyzed using statistical analysis techniques, namely descriptive statistics. Descriptive statistical analysis data obtained average value (pretest) = 69,17 is in the very low category and average value (posttest) = 83,00 is in the high category. From the results of the hypothesis test analysis using paired sample test, a sig value = 0,001 is obtained in accordance with the basis for decision making, if the hypothesis test of the probability value of significance < 0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Then significantly the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Based on the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that the synthetic analytical structural method (SAS) with the help of big book media affects the initial reading ability in grade I students of SDN Kebalen 01 Kabupaten Bekasi.

Abstract

The low critical thinking ability of students needs serious attention. This study aims to determine the effect of ethnolinguistically-based experiential learning models on the essential thinking abilities of PGSD students. The research method used is a pre-experiment with a group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was 6th-semester PGSD students at the Indonesian Education Institute. The sample taken was class 5B, totaling 33 people, with a purposive sample technique. The study yielded an average initial ability value of 79.3 and an increase in the posttest value to 84.18. The results of data analysis showed that the pretest-posttest t value was 0.8 with a probability of 0.00. Therefore, we can conclude that the ethnolinguistic-based experiential learning model influences students' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of extracurricular activities on student learning outcomes in elementary schools. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques carried out online through google form using a questionnaire. Respondents or informants in this study were elementary school teachers in the Bekasi City or Regency area. The results showed that extracurricular activities have a significant positive impact on student development, both academically and non-academically. Students involved in these activities showed increased self-confidence, independence and social skills, as well as being more critical, disciplined, creative and motivated to learn. The supportive environment in extracurricular activities contributes to the development of students' positive attitudes and behaviors, helping them learn to work together, become responsible leaders, and care for the environment. These activities also encourage students to actively participate, with motivational support from teachers who help them recognize their interests and talents and provide appreciation for achievements. In addition, it is important to evaluate the effectiveness of extracurricular activities through feedback from students and participation in social activities to ensure that the goal of developing students' social and physical skills is achieved.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara peran orang tua dengan minat membaca siswa dan mendeskripsikan tentang minat membaca siswa dan peran orang tua dalam minat baca siswa serta hambatan-hambatan yang dialami. Metode peneilitian ini menggunakan tinjaun literatur. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membaca artikel di jurnal online Google Scholar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa peran orang tua sangat penting dalam meningkatkan minat membaca siswa. Minat membaca siswa akan tertanam apabila orang tua tidak memberikan pengajaran aktif terhadap membaca.

Abstract

Peran kegiatan ekstrakurikuler sangat penting untuk menumbuhkan minat, bakat, dan prestasi siswa. Siswa memiliki kesempatan untuk menumbuhkan karakter yang positif, mengembangkan keterampilan sosial, dan mengeksplorasi potensi mereka melalui berbagai aktivitas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kulitatif dengan metode studi keperpustakaan (literature review) yang digunakan dalam penelitian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah manfaat yang signifikan dari keterlibatan siswa dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Manfaat ini termasuk peningkatan prestasi akademik, peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi, dan pembentukan perasaan tanggung jawab dan disiplin. Siswa dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan kemampuan mereka dengan bantuan guru dan pelatih yang berpengalaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ekstrakurikuler tidak hanya membantu siswa menemukan minat dan bakat mereka, tetapi juga membangun karakter mereka.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman membaca cerita anak pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Duren Jaya XII dengan menerapkan metode Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya literasi membaca siswa, terbukti dari skor PISA 2022 dan hasil asesmen nasional sekolah yang menunjukkan nilai rata‑rata di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM ≥ 75). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) menurut Kemmis & McTaggart, dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing‑masing terdiri atas empat tahap: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 33 siswa kelas V, dengan data dikumpulkan melalui observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa serta tes membaca pemahaman. Hasil observasi menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas guru dari 62,5% pada Siklus I pertemuan 1 menjadi 100% pada Siklus II pertemuan 2, dan aktivitas siswa dari 56,25% menjadi 93,75%. Nilai rata‑rata membaca pemahaman siswa meningkat dari 63,94 (kondisi awal) menjadi 68,61 pada Siklus I dan 77,80 pada Siklus II, dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar naik dari 55% menjadi 88%. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa metode CIRC efektif mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dan meningkatkan pemahaman isi bacaan, sehingga direkomendasikan sebagai strategi pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Keterampilan membaca permulaan merupakan fondasi utama dalam proses pembelajaran siswa kelas awal di sekolah dasar. Namun, masih banyak siswa kelas 1 yang mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca, seperti tidak mengenali huruf, kesulitan merangkai kata, dan tidak memahami arti kata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 1 di SDN Bahagia 03, Kabupaten Bekasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru menerapkan berbagai strategi seperti bimbingan belajar individual, memberikan motivasi, menggunakan metode alfabet, ejaan, huruf-kata, dan dikte, serta menjalin komunikasi dengan orang tua. Strategi-strategi ini terbukti membantu meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa secara bertahap. Dengan demikian, pemilihan strategi yang tepat oleh guru memainkan peran penting dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca awal dan meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran di kelas-kelas bawah.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of digital children’s literature with artificial intelligence (AI)-based illustrations on the material “Being Careful Everywhere” for elementary school students. The material “Being Careful Everywhere” discusses how to protect oneself from danger and accidents in various places such as home, school, streets, or other public areas. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a direct observation approach to classroom learning activities. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively to illustrate students’ responses and the effectiveness of the media used. The results show that digital children’s literature with AI-generated illustrations successfully captures students’ attention, enhances comprehension of the story content, and fosters the character value of caution in daily life. Moreover, the use of this interactive digital medium encourages active student engagement during the learning process. Thus, the implementation of AI-based digital children’s literature can serve as an innovative alternative in elementary language learning that emphasizes digital literacy and character education.

Abstract

The low reading ability of students is caused by various factors, one of which is the lack of interest in reading among students. The aim of this research is to measure the initial reading ability of elementary school students, especially grade I students. This type of research is quantitative research, using experimental methods. The sampling technique was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. In obtaining data, researchers carried out an initial test (pretest) and a final test (posttest). The data technique used is descriptive analysis techniques and descriptive statistical analysis by testing hypotheses using t-test statistics. The data obtained was then analyzed using statistical analysis techniques, namely descriptive statistics. Based on the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that the picture and picture cooperative learning model assisted by alphabet card media affects the reading ability of elementary school students.
