Abstract

Batik is a cultural heritage of the Indonesian nation. Schools that can develop batik are very effective and have benefits for all groups. This is relevant to the Arts and Culture subject at the junior high school level. This study aims to introduce Batik to students as a step towards preserving Batik and teaching them that creating Batik is easy and can be done by junior high school students. This research is qualitative and uses the Design-Based Research (DBR) method to produce effective learning outcomes. Furthermore, this study applies the Design-Based Research (DBR) method with the Reeves model, which is oriented towards developing practice-based solutions in an educational context. This method is in line with the research and development (R&D) approach, which aims to create or refine products to better suit user needs. Conceptually, DBR emphasizes a practical process that includes problem identification, design, implementation, and systematic product evaluation. The results of the research on the development of techniques using electric canting and colet techniques provide convenience and effectiveness to junior high school students, thereby significantly improving their skills. Exploring the implementation of electric canting and the colet technique is easy and efficient for producing batik. Compared to conventional canting, it is efficient in terms of saving materials and tools, as well as saving time and effort. Another advantage is the ability to produce richer and more varied colors, including achieving color gradation, and serving as a branding tool for batik fabrics.

Abstract

The learning of Banyumasan folk songs in art colleges represents an important effort in preserving local culture. Currently, the preservation of folk songs faces significant challenges due to the lack of educational media and the low interest among younger generations. Given the limited knowledge in this area, it is essential to incorporate this material into the curriculum of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Surakarta. This learning process is expected to broaden students' knowledge and enhance their competencies in performing folk songs. This study aims to examine the learning process of Banyumasan folk songs at ISI Surakarta, focusing on teaching strategies, learning materials, the role of lecturers, as well as the challenges and contributions of this educational approach to local cultural preservation. The research method employed is qualitative descriptive, using data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the learning of Banyumasan folk songs has been integrated into the curriculum through contextual, collaborative, and project-based approaches. The study also explores the methods used by instructors to help students understand and perform the songs effectively. This research highlights the strategic role of arts education in the revitalization and preservation of Banyumasan culture. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for the development of curriculum and learning strategies for Banyumasan folk songs in higher education institutions of the arts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the concept of deep learning based on mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning in learning Topeng Getak Dance at the Junior High School (SMP) level by utilizing the TikTok application as an interactive learning medium. Facing the challenge of attracting the interest of the younger generation to traditional arts, this approach offers a conscious, meaningful, and enjoyable learning experience. Through the use of TikTok as a creative medium, students are invited to actively explore dance movements in the form of videos, reflect on the meaning in each type of movement, and enjoy the learning process interactively. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with observations, interviews, and documentation of junior high school students. The results of the study indicate that the application of the mindful-meaningful-joyful learning strategy based on TikTok can increase student engagement, understanding of cultural values, and strengthen the preservation of Topeng Getak Dance among the younger generation. These findings emphasize the importance of technology-based innovation in developing art learning models that are relevant to the digital era.

Abstract

The movie Garis Pilihan tells about the journey of Mila, a girl from Sidoarjo who migrates to continue her education at Surabaya State University. Erving Goffman's dramaturgy theory and Wilhelm Wundt's structuralism theory are used to examine Mila's character dualism in the movie Garis Pilihan and real life. The purpose of this research is to see how Mila controls her emotions in the movie and real life. The research of this article uses a descriptive qualitative approach, by collecting data through observation, interviews, and literature review. The closest relatives of Mila's character served as Research informants. The findings show that although Mila is more emotional and expressive when facing various situations in the backstage, she always appears tough and strong on the frontstage. The social roles and emotional frameworks that influence Mila's character can be better understood thanks to this research. In the context of performance and everyday life, this research also presents a new perspective on the relationship between emotional control and social pressure.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSeni mural telah menjadi elemen penting dalam pendidikan seni rupa, bukan hanya sebagai karya seni yang mempercantik ruang fisik, tetapi juga sebagai alat pendidikan yang berdaya. Penelitian ini menjelaskan mengapa seni mural memiliki peran vital dalam pendidikan seni rupa, menguraikan tujuan, manfaat, dan kerangka penelitian yang digunakan. Mural adalah bentuk seni rupa yang menggunakan dinding atau permukaan bangunan sebagai medianya, dan memiliki persyaratan khusus terkait dengan arsitektur, desain, usia, perawatan, dan kenyamanan.Seni mural memiliki sejarah panjang yang mencakup zaman prasejarah, dan eksistensinya masih berlanjut di Indonesia. Mural memiliki beragam tujuan, mulai dari ekspresi artistik hingga penyampaian pesan sosial, ideologi, atau branding produk. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada peran seni mural dalam pendidikan dan bagaimana siswa terlibat dalam proses kreatif.Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dan melibatkan siswa dari berbagai tingkatan pendidikan, guru seni rupa, dan seniman yang terlibat dalam proyek seni mural di sekolah. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei, wawancara, dan analisis karya seni mural siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seni mural mempengaruhi positif siswa dalam mengembangkan kreativitas, ekspresi pribadi, pemahaman estetika, dan keterampilan sosial. Mural juga membantu siswa menyuarakan pesan sosial dan lingkungan serta memperkuat ikatan dengan sekolah.Penelitian ini mempertegas pentingnya seni mural dalam konteks pendidikan seni rupa, tidak hanya sebagai medium ekspresi visual, tetapi juga sebagai alat yang memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa secara holistik. Seni mural berperan dalam memadukan estetika, ekspresi pribadi, dan pemahaman seni rupa dalam proses pendidikan.

Abstract

Metode  pembelajaran menjadi hal yang penting dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Metode pembelajaran seni musik berbasis action Learning  digunakan oleh guru SMA Maarif Nu Pandaan sebagai upaya atau bentuk inovasi dalam pembelajaran materi olah vokal kelas XI.  Salah satu bentuk action learning yang digunakan adalah metode solatmingkom dalam materi olah vokal guna meningkatkan kreativitas bernnyanyi dan kecerdasan musikal anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Lokasi Penelitian di SMA Maarif Nu Pandaan Jalan Ahmad Yani No 92 Pandaan Kabupaten Pasuruan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan trianggulasi data. Teknik analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, menyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan strategi pembelajaran solatmingkom digunakan guru dalam materi olah vokal. Solatmingkom merupakan salah satu treatment yang berupa gabungan metode solfegio, latihan alam, hamming dan kompetisi. Solfegio digunakan untuk melatih kepekaan anak terhadap nada, ear training, membidik nada sehingga siswa dapat mengelola nada dengan baik. Latihan alam digunakan untuk meningkatkan power agar kualitas suara menjadi maksimal. Hamming merupakan treatmen guna melatih siswa agar mampu bernyanyi dengan nada tinggi dengan cara menutup mulut sehingga mampu membantu rongga hidung dan tenggorokan lebih terbuka. Kompetisi digunakan sebagai evaluasi akhir atau penilaian praktek yang digunakan guru sebagai stimulus agar siswa mampu menampilkan penampilan terbaik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah pengembangan dan penerapan berupa sebuah produk multimedia berbasis web google sites yang bertujuan memberi dan menyebarluaskan pengetahuan tentang Tari Gandrung Banyuwangi ditinjau dari berbagai elemen. Multimedia ini juga bertujuan sebagai upaya kecil pelestarian tari tradisional Banyuwangi yang bersifat pengenalan dan penyebarluasan informasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan dan analisis data yaitu kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengembangan produk menggunakan model ADDIE. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi, penyajian data, dan penegasan simpulan. Model pengembangan produk yang digunakan yaitu analisis, desain, pengembangan, dan implementasi. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa produk ini dapat menambah pengetahuan pembelajar terkait berbagai elemen pendukung Tari Gandrung karena berisi materi secara kompleks,  yaitu : sejarah perkembangan, jenis tari, ragam gerak, alat musik, iringan gendhing, busana dan beragam video jenis Tari Gandrung Banyuwangi. Selain digunakan pada pendidikan nonformal, multimedia ini juga dapat digunakan secara fleksibel pada pendidikan formal sebagai pelengkap pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study explores the aesthetic transformation from painting to installation art within the context of contemporary Indonesian art through a case study of Agung Tato Suryanto's works. This transformation signifies not only a shift in medium from two-dimensional to three-dimensional formats but also a paradigmatic change in how artists convey aesthetic, symbolic, and philosophical ideas. Using a qualitative method and case study approach, this research examines two key works—Second Level as a painting and Lingga Bergema as an installation—through the lens of Immanuel Kant’s aesthetic theory, Roland Barthes’ semiotics, and Theodor Adorno’s critical aesthetics. The analysis reveals that Agung Tato constructs a visual language that critically reflects on the dehumanizing and disoriented nature of modern urban life. In Second Level, he explores the absence of human presence in urban architecture as a metaphor for existential alienation, while in Lingga Bergema, he deconstructs patriarchal cultural symbols through reflective spatial installation. Both works expand aesthetic experience beyond the visual to become multisensory and participatory. This study concludes that Agung Tato’s aesthetic transformation is a conceptual strategy that responds to the complexities of contemporary social reality, demonstrating that contemporary art is no longer merely a visual object, but a dialectical space for critical consciousness, open interpretation, and deep aesthetic engagement.

Abstract

Kegiatan Penguatan Kompetensi Dosen Dalam Pembuatan Proposal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Kolaborasi Nasional Antar Perguruan Tinggi (Kolaborasi Universitas Negeri Surabaya Dengan Universitas Lambung Mangkurat Dan Universitas PGRI Banjarmasin, Kalimantan Selatan) merupakan solusi dari kurang Pengoptimalan serta Penguatan Kompetensi Dosen Dalam Pembuatan Proposal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Kolaborasi Nasional Antar Perguruan Tinggi. Tujuan PKM yaitu: (1) Melaksanakan Pelatihan Dosen Dalam Pembuatan Proposal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Kolaborasi Nasional Antar Perguruan Tinggi, (2) Merancang Terwujudnya Proposal Kolaborasi Universitas Negeri Surabaya Dengan Universitas Lambung Mangkurat dan Proposal Kolaborasi Universitas Negeri Surabaya dengan Universitas PGRI Kalimantan. Kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan dilakukan dengan metode workshop, pendampingan, dan project. Hasil dari pelatihana adalah mahasiswa dan dosen mitra menhasilkan Proposal Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) kolaborasi Nasioanl antar Perguruan tinggi yang siap untuk diajakukan di https://bima.kemdikbud.go.id. Dari kegiatan tersebut dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut. Kegiatan berjalan baik dan lancar sesuai dengan jadwal yang direncanakan, Kegiatan pendampingan secara umum berlangsung secara efektif, Pendampingan menghasilkan 10 Proposal Pengabdian kepada masyarakat kolaborasi Nasional antar perguruan tinggi yang siap untuk di laksanakan pada tahun 2025.Saran dari kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan adalah masih perlunya kegiatan yang serupa kepada mahasiswa dan dosen mitra lainnya sebagai upaya pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berdasarkan pada kolaborasi seni budaya dengan kemasan yang lebih menarik dan efektif.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the bathara sandiwara division of the songgolangit community to answer the biggest obstacle of limited extracurricular theater arts activities in educational institutions. This research examines the management of theater arts education in the songgolangit creative space community as an effort to build a creative space consisting of several aspects, namely planning, organizing, mobilizing, controlling. Researchers used a qualitative approach method. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and literacy studies, while in analyzing the data the steps taken first reduce the data, then proceed with the presentation of data and at the end draw conclusions. Researchers used triangulation of sources, techniques and time for data validity. Based on the results of the research in organizing theater arts education management, the songgolangit creative space community applies four management functions consisting of planning which is regulated in long and short term planning, realized with community programs that have been made, organizing with the preparation of community structures in organizing theater arts education, mobilizing which is carried out simultaneously with the implementation of art education and supervision carried out directly by the head of the community, this is done so that art education activities can run well and in accordance with the vision, mission, and goals of national education.
