Abstract

The study aims to examine the effects of chicken manure /urea and the volume of water in the growth of the many varieties of rice (oryza sativa). The task is carried out in the Village of Argorejo, sedayu district, l district, Yogyakarta. The design of the experiment used in this study is a Complete Random Design (RAL). Treatment of combination of chicken manure and urea by 80%; 20%; 50%; 50% and 20%; 80%. The volume of water is 300 ml, 600 ml, and 900 ml. Variable observations include plant height, number of wildlings, the weight of wet safes, the weight of dry safes. Analysis of the observations using 5% variant print continued with Duncan's multipe range test (DMRT) at increased 5%. Analysis shows that there is no interaction between the combination of fertilizers and the water-giving. There is a real difference in the treatment of volume of water in the growth variables.

Abstract

Closed-house broiler chicken farming enhances productivity and animal welfare by maintaining optimal environmental conditions. However, reliance on grid electricity for air control systems increases operational costs and environmental impact. This study investigates the implementation of a solar-powered air control system to regulate temperature, humidity, and ventilation in closed-house broiler farming. The system integrates photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, energy storage, and a smart control mechanism. The system's performance is evaluated based on energy consumption, solar energy generation, and environmental parameters. Results show the system effectively maintains optimal broiler growth conditions while reducing energy dependence. Energy savings of up to 10% are achieved, leading to lower operational costs and improved sustainability. The findings demonstrate the feasibility of solar-powered solutions in broiler farming, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing farm resilience. Future work will explore IoT integration for real-time monitoring and further energy optimization.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of disc diameter variation on friction moment, braking distance, and braking time on three-wheeled motorcycles for agricultural transportation. It involved testing three variations in disc size: 220, 260 and 300 mm, with three speed variations: 20, 30 and 40 km/h. The testing results revealed that the larger the disc diameter, the greater the friction moment. The 300 mm disc yielded the highest friction moment of 7246.1 N.m. The shortest braking distance (9.5 m) was achieved by the 300 mm disc at a speed of 20 km/h. For a speed level of 30 and 40 km/h, the braking distances were 18.20 and 27.2 m. Braking times also showed a similar pattern, where the 300 mm disc brake had the shortest braking time of 3.63 seconds at a speed of 20 km/h. At speed levels of 30 km/h and 40 km/h, braking times were 5.52 and 6.35 seconds. The test data showed that disc brakes with a larger diameter increased braking power by shortening the braking distance and time while increasing the friction moment, indicating that the disc brake size has a significant effect on the braking performance of three-wheeled motorcycles used for agricultural transportation the disc brake size has a significant effect on the braking performance of three-wheeled vehicle used for agricultural transportation.

Abstract

Smallholder pig farming in rural areas of North Sulawesi important role in food security, household economy, and socio-cultural of local communities. However, this sector faces various risks. The aims to analyze production dynamics and identify risk factors that affect the sustainability of smallholder pig farming in rural areas. The research employed a quantitative approach through a survey of 604 farmers (having 3-4 sows/farmer). Data analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that labor, the cage area, quantity of medicines, farm model, and farm location in rural areas significantly influenced pig production. The breeding model resulted in higher production than the combined pig farming model and tended to have lower production risks. Pig production in rural areas is also higher than in suburban areas. Disease risk is the main cause of losses, with production and income declines reaching 182.9% in the breeding model and 303.4% in the combined model. In conclusion, the breeding model resulted in higher production and tends to have lower production risks, particularly disease-related risks that directly affect productivity and farm continuity. These risks significantly reduce household production and income, highlighting the strong relationship between production dynamics, risk levels, and the economic stability of rural pig farmers.

Abstract

This research is aimed to measure integration rate of broiler price and the relation of broiler price among the regions in East Java Province. This research was conducted from 2000 up to 2009 by survey approach.  The secondary data of monthly broiler price at consumer level in Jombang, Malang, Jember and Surabaya regencies published by agriculture and animal husbandry departments as well as East Java statistical bureau were used. The descriptive and market integration analysis of co-integration Johansen and Granger causality test were used.  The research showed that broiler markets in East Java were integrated and efficient. The analysis of Granger causality in the four regencies in East Java showed that the two-way causality of broiler price was pointed in Jombang-Malang, Jombang-Surabaya, Surabaya-Jember regencies respectively. Meanwhile the one-way causality was pointed in Jombang-Jember, Malang-Jember, Surabaya-Jember, and Surabaya-Malang.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine different egg-turning techniques on the hatching performance of hybrid duck eggs. The materials for this research include water, hatching eggs of hybrid ducks, and manual hatching machines. This research used the T-test with 2 treatments and 6 replications, including T1 (swipe egg-turning) and T2 (manual egg-turning), each replication consisting of 10 hatched hybrid duck eggs. The parameters observed included the percentage of mortality, the percentage of hatchability, and the hatching weight of hybrid ducks. Analysis of the resulting data uses an analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) application. Data that had significant differences were then tested further using the DMRT test (Duncan Multiple Range Test). The results showed that the egg-turning technique had no significant effect on the hatching performance of hybrid duck eggs, including mortality, hatchability, and hatching weight. The conclusion of the research was the regular turning times with differences in egg-turning techniques did not influence the hatchability of the duck hybrid.
