Abstract

The economy of coastal communities which are dominated by underprivileged families should be improved for the better through empowering business groups by utilizing the resources in their environment. This study aims to determine the empowerment of the Dried Fish Business group in improving the family economy. The method used is qualitative research with sampling using purposive sampling. The results of the study found that the empowerment and follow-up carried out by the government were still maximal for the Penempol Dried Fish business group, the utilization of human and natural resources was not optimal and the results of the business group had not been able to improve the family economy but were only able to meet daily needs.

Abstract

Batam City is one of the areas in the Riau Archipelago province where economic development is progressing rapidly. One of the supporting factors is that Batam City is the main route for tourists to enter and exit, as well as trade routes. As a stopover for tourists, this naturally makes Batam City ready to provide decent and comfortable accommodation. In a hotel, the front office is the department that deals directly with guests, from guests who book rooms to guests who want to leave the hotel. Front Office is the first impression and the last impression guests will always remember. As for the Front Office, HARRIS Resort Waterfront Batam takes good care of the guests to make a good impression also when handling the departure or checkout of guests. The purpose of this study was to determine the handling of guest checkout and check-out SOPs. Based on the method used in this study, it is qualitative to find out the results of the study through observation, interviews with the Harris Resort Waterfront Batam Front Office and guests staying, as well as documentation with sources who provided answers . Based on surveys and interviews conducted by the author, it can be concluded that the Check-out Handling at HARRIS Resort Waterfront Batam went well, also the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) in the check-out process was carried out by all employees of the Front Office department. Abstract

In the title of this research there is a problem, which as it is known that the Ulu Kasok attraction is a tourist attraction that has recenly attracted a lot of interest from local visitors. However, due to the lack of attractions of that are the main attraction of this object, local visitors are gradually decreasing. This object is in great demand by people because of its scenery which is similar to the tourist attraction that is highly desired by many people, namely Raja Ampat, there for the perpose of this research is to find out which attractions can make this Ulu Kasok tourist attraction an object of interest to the public many people. This study uses a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach and analyzes the data by conducting observations, documentation and interviews wiyh visitors local communities and the departement that manages them. After conducing interviews with various informants the researcher concluded that the Ulu Kasok tourist attraction did not get the attention of the management in increasing the attractions that became the data of attraction for tourists or visitor who came to the place. Abstract

The city of Pekanbaru has many culinary spots which make it as one of the destinations for tourists. One of the culinary spots in Pekanbaru City is Bundaran Keris culinary square. This area has a variety of food and beverages ranging from traditional to modern food. This research aims to describe the Bundaran Keris square in regards to its attractiveness, facilities, accessibility, and institutions. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. Subjects of this research were the key informants, namely the head of the Pekanbaru City CEI, Pekanbaru City CEI staff, MSME actors, and responses from the visitors at the Bundaran Keris square. Data collection techniques used in this research were observation, interviews, literature study, and documentation. The results showed that the culinary spots in the Bundaran Keris in which where the attractions in the form of food and drinks, food stands, services, and entertainment were good. The facilities provided at the Bundaran Keris are also quite complete, starting from tables and chairs, toilets, mosques, lighting, and parking. The accessibility is also very good pertaining to transportation, road conditions, and pedestrian paths. The institution who has the responsibility to the culinary spots of the Bundaran Keris is the Pekanbaru City Community Empowerment Institute (CEI) which is also the Overseer of the Bundaran Keris culinary spots. Keywords: Culinary Spotsm, Attraction, Pekanbaru City, Bundaran Keris.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the Defense Strategy of Traditional Market Traders During the Covid 19 Pandemic In Teluk Kuantan, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. In collecting data using observation research methods, explore and also documentation. Traditional market traders and survival strategies carried out during the covid 19 pandemic. In the midst of covid 19 which has an impact on various people's lives, both socially and economically, those who also feel the impact of the pandemic are informal sector actors, one of which is small traders in traditional markets. Traditional markets are a major concern amid the development of modern markets and the existence of traders' markets in surviving the changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic is very important. Abstract

Covid-19 has created a very significant new change in the world of tourism where freedom of travel can no longer be as free as it used to be in the days before the pandemic, tourists cannot travel without health care. Currently, one of the resorts that is still surviving during the pandemic is Harris Resort Waterfront Batam. It is one of the four-star resorts in Batam that has good and wise use of Food Recyling, this has an impact on food costs. Harris Resort Waterfront is still in a stable condition. Food recycling is food ingredients, both processed and unprocessed, that are thrown away in vain, while there are still many uses that can be taken from food ingredients that can be reprocessed to reduce costs. Therefore, this study aims to determine the use of Food Recyling in the Kitchen Section of Harris Resort Waterfront Batam. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze problems based on data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Utilization of Food Recyling that is carried out is Product Recycling Terms of Reprocessing Utilization Produced by Reprocessing Based on the results of research that has been carried out, for the overall results of observations and interviews, it can be concluded that the Utilization of Food Recyling in the Kitchen Section of Harris Resort Waterfront Batam has been running according to the procedure which has been done Keywords: Hotel, Food Recycling

Abstract

The city of Padang stretches from north to south with a beach and a row of Bukit Barisan, the combination of the two locations provides an attractive and beautiful natural beauty for the city of Padang, thus encouraging the West Sumatra provincial government to provide various facilities and infrastructure such as hotels. Thanks to the large number of hotels, the hotel management competes with each other in providing good service to their customers. In this case, Prince Beach Padang Hotel carefully considers in setting room rental rates so that the price set does not cause harm to the company. The purpose of this study was to determine the setting of room prices at the Pangeran Beach Padang hotel. Based on the method used in this study, namely descriptive qualitative method to analyze the problems that the authors collected through observation, interviews and documentation with the management of the Prince Beach Padang hotel. Based on the data analysis carried out, the selection of strategies and methods must adjust the existing market conditions because this is very influential in determining the price of the Prince Beach Padang hotel. Keywords: Price, Strategy, Method, Hotel

Abstract

asar Atas is one of the tourist icons in the city of Bukittinggi, which is the driving force for the economy of the surrounding community. This research was conducted in the city of Bukittinggi. The purpose of this study is to find out the adaptation strategies carried out by traders and also the obstacles faced by traders in the Atas market of Bukittinggi city. In this study, the technique of taking the subject was using purposive sampling which had determined the criteria in this study. The theory used in this study uses the theory of social action (rational Instrumental) proposed by Max Weber. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. To obtain relevant research results, the researcher conducted interviews with 16 subjects and also made direct observations in the field. The results of this study are there are 3 strategies used in adapting and the obstacles faced by traders. The first strategy used is an active strategy, by exploiting all existing potential sources, the second strategy is a passive strategy, namely, by minimizing spending, and the last strategy is a network strategy, namely, by utilizing the social network that is owned. The obstacles faced by traders are the lack of capital to start the business again, the less strategic location of the kiosk. Keywords: Traders, Adaptation Strategy, Bukittinggi City

Abstract

This research was conducted in Cipogas Lake,  Rokan Hulu, Riau- Indonesia. The Cipogas lake Rokan Hulu Tourism Object is one of the tourist attractions that is used as a superior product in Rokan Hulu Regency. As one of the leading tourism, Cipogas Lake development planning will be carried out by taking into account the role of the Tourism Office in developing the Cipogas Lake Rokan Hulu Tourism Object. This study aims to determine the role of the Tourism Office in the Development of Cipogas Lake Rokan Hulu Tourism Object. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to process data obtained in the field through interviews, observation and documentation. All information is collected and studied so that it becomes a complete unit (Sugiono. 2000). Meanwhile, for the sample in the study, there were 6 key information persons. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the role of the Tourism Office in the Development of Cipogas Lake Tourism Objects is as a Motivator, Facilitator, and Dynamator to develop  Cipogas Lake Tourism Objects and increase Tourist Visits.Keywords: The Role of the Tourism Office, Development, Tourist Attraction

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the Main Duties of Front Office Department Operators at Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi. This study discusses the main duties of a telephone operator, starting from what are the duties of a telephone operator in general at Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi, SOPs in becoming a telephone operator and which are the main tasks of telephone operators, both handling telephone requests, handling telephone calls, and handling telephone calls. telephone calls, handling waking guests, handling music/radio/VCD programs and serving E-mail delivery. This study uses a qualitative method, where the data obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the research conducted at the Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi are sufficient to meet the existing standards, there are only a few indicators that differ between the theory and the Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi.
