Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to identify comic-based learning media in an effort to increase students interest and learning outcomes in hydrostatic pressure material. This study uses the use of a technology-based application called Pixtoon that researchers use to develop the creation of science learning comilk on hydrostatic pressure material in class VIII A1 SMP Negeri 4 Selakau. In the learning process, researchers applied a cooperative learning model with nht (numbered head together) type. Based on the analysis of data, it concluded that the tests developed are worth using to improve the learning outcomes of learners, namely: 1) have a higher validity than the validity of the table, 2) The average results of the student questionnaire before using comic learning media is 1.84. And the average result after using comic learning media is 3.40, so it can be stated that the interest of learners in comic-based learning can increase the learning interest of learners.. 3) pretest value reached 21.18 while postest reached 72.94 so that the difference score was 51.76, 4) the result of the response of students to comic-based learning media is 3.09 with the category "very good", 5) the effectiveness of media feasibility value is 3.23 with high criteria. So that this comicbased learning media is worth using and effective to increase the interest and learning outcomes of learners. Keywords: learning media, hydrostatic pressure, comic

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to asses the effectiveness of Guided Inquiry Learning Model with Mind Mapping to remediate student’s misconception on ‘work’ for grade X IPA student of SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak.. The method used in this research was preexperimental method with the one-group pretest-posttest design. Samples of study were purposive sampling and selected base on Physics teacher’s recommendation. The instrument of research included 10 questions of diagnostic test. The average range of students misconception in pre test was 82,94% and in post test was 30% . The average range decreased 64,36% after the treatment. Based on McNemar test, overall students experienced significant misconception with value of χ2 count (82,51) > χ 2 table (3,84), df=1 and α = 5%. The effectiveness of Guided Inquiry Learning Model with Mind Mapping to remediate student’s misconception about ‘work’ that used to reduce the misconcepted students through DQM of 64,37% which included in medium category. Therefore, teachers suggested to used Guided Inquiry Learning Model as alternative learning technique in order to straighten out student misconception in the material ‘work’. Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of interactive conceptual instruction (ICI) models to increase the learning outcomes of the elasticity's material of students in class XI MIA SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. This reseacrh method is quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design. Intact group purposive sampling used in this research with 34 students of XI MIA 2 as experiment class and 35 students of XI MIA 1 as control class. 7 items are used as instrument with each test before and after treatment. Based on the results of analysis an increase in the learning outcomes of control class students by 0.29 (low) and the experimental class by 0.60 (moderate). The results of  calculation of the experimental class gain and control class obtained sig.(2 tailed) of 0,000 < 0,05 it can be concluded that there is a significant differences in student learning outcomes improvement using the ICI model and the effectiveness of using the ICI model is categorized as high with effect size 3.30 (high category). Based on these results show that the impelementation of the ICI model is effective in improving students learning outcomes the material elasticity in SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. Keywords :  Effectiveness, Elasticity, Improved Learning Outcomes, Interactive Conceptual Instruction.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to find out how to develop a problem-based business and energy material module for critical thinking skills. This type of research is research and development (R&D) using the Borg & gall model. The development of problem-based business and energy material modules for critical thinking skills consists of an introduction cover, a table of contents, an introduction in the form of descriptions, core competencies, basic competencies, indicators, learning objectives and module use, content in the form of concept maps, presentation of problems, material presentation, practice questions, glossary, competency test questions as well as competency test answer keys and the last closing in the form of module identities, and bibliography. The results of data analysis show that the development of problem-based business and energy material modules for critical thinking skills in terms of content feasibility is 83.33% and presentation is 81.11% which is included in the very high criteria. Student responses in the initial field test were 77.49% (high) and 81.49 (very high) in the main field test. So that the results of this study are expected to be a material consideration for schools and teachers in choosing an effective problembased learning module to improve student learning outcomes. Keywords: Development, Learning Module, Effort And Energy

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to improve student learning outcomes on elasticity and Hooke's law by applying the learning cycle learning 7E model. The design of this study was in the form of a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. This study involved students of class XI MIA 3 and class XI MIA 4 in SMA Negeri 6 Pontianak, who were selected using a random sampling method with an intact group. Data collection tools used in the form of a test form consisting of 5 questions with a reliability level of 0.56. Based on the results of the Mann Whitney U test obtained Zcount by -4.71 and Ztable by -1.96 (-1.96 > -4.71). Thus there are differences in student learning outcomes between the group taught with the applied model, and the group taught with the conventional learning model. The effectiveness of the applied learning model was calculated using the Cohen effect size formula with the result of 1.53 and a high category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the learning cycle 7E model can improve student learning outcomes on the material of elasticity and Hooke's law. Keywords: Elasticity & Hooke’s Law, Learning Cycle 7E model, Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to reveal the profile, the percentage and to find out the causes of students’ difficulties in solving about rotational dynamics and statistic equilibrium. This Research conducted at MAN 2 Pontianak which subjects are 5 out of 20 students who were given the test. Data collected by giving the HOTS essay questions and interviews. The analysis data technic was Miles and Huberman. The results show that students' difficulties are divided into 5 according to the Heller problem solving stages. (1) The difficulty of visualizing the problems by students was 63.75%. Because they do not know how to draw a sketch on each question. (2) The difficulty of physics description by students was 21.25 %. Because they do not understand the problems given to the questions. (3) The difficulty of making the plan solution was 58,75%. Because they do not understand the concepts used in the questions. (4) The difficulty of executing the plan was 71,25%. Because they do not know the concepts used in the questions and do not understand the arithmetic operations. (5) The difficulty of checking and evaluating was 78,75%. Because they are not careful in checking the answers and being hurry to finish the questionsKeywords: Analysis Difficulty, Problem Solving HOTS, Rotational Dynamics and Statistic Equilibrium
