Abstract

Pudak is a dish that is traditionally eaten in Gresik, East Java, and has become a living record of the city's evolution through the years. Pudak possesses numerous excellent Gresik qualities and features that should be conserved because it is the indigenous wisdom of the city. An understanding of science, or information that can be replicated and is acknowledged by the scientific community, also known as ethnoscience, must be linked to the preservation of local wisdom values. The process of integrating cultural norms and traditions with scientific knowledge is known as ethnoscience. The traditional Pudak meal typical of Gresik City was the subject of an ethnoscientific study, which tries to represent indigenous knowledge of the community with scientific understanding. Research data for this study were gathered from linked research publications and exploratory activities utilizing a qualitative methodology based on ethno-science studies. The "Pudak Sari Kelapa" in Karangpoh Village, Kemuteran, Gresik Regency, one of the earliest Pudak manufacturers in Gresik City, was the site of exploration efforts. The research process for this ethno-science-based literature study consists of a number of steps, including gathering data from the library, conducting interviews, taking notes, analyzing, collecting concepts, developing them, and coming to a conclusion. The study's findings demonstrate the strong connection between real community science and scientific knowledge in the production of Pudak as well as in its key components, packaging, and storage techniques.

Abstract

Experiential learning is learning that applies learning through action, learning through activities, learning through experience, and learning through discovery and exploration. Science process skills are skills that students need to have because they are closely related to intellectual skills. Gotong royong is an activity that is done together. A group does it to complete a task or work considered useful for the common interest or welfare. This study aimed to determine the effect of the experiential learning model on science process skills and students' cooperation attitudes. The research design used was one group pretest-posttest, applied in one of the junior high schools in the Sumberrejo sub-district. Data collection techniques include tests and response questionnaires. Based on the average n-gain score of all indicators, the study results obtained a score of 0.72 with a high category. The highest increase in the indicator of making conclusions was an increase in the n-gain score of 0.75. The mutual cooperation questionnaire obtained an average percentage of all indicators of 88%. The helping indicator obtained the highest percentage, with a percentage of 90%. The analysis results of the gotong royong questionnaire show an increase in all indicators, with a high average value. Empathy and human values play an important role in improving helping attitudes. Based on the analysis of this research, it can be concluded that using an experiential learning model in learning can improve students' science process skills. The experiential learning model also effectively fosters an attitude of gotong royong in students.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is the ability of individuals to engage with science-related issues and scientific ideas as reflective citizens. However, many students struggle with low scientific literacy skills, which hampers their ability to understand and engage with scientific concepts effectively. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create (RADEC) learning model on the scientific literacy of junior high school students. This type of research is experimental design. The research design used is descriptive with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 34 students of class VII-G at SMP Negeri 54 Surabaya during the even semester of the academic year 2023/2024. Data collection techniques involved observation, tests, and questionnaires. Research instruments included learning implementation observation sheets and scientific literacy tests. Test results were analyzed using N-Gain (Normalized Gain) and paired sample t-test. The study's findings revealed that the implementation of the RADEC learning model was executed very well, as evidenced by an average implementation score of 98.6%, which was categorized as very good. Second, students' scientific literacy skills showed improvement after the RADEC learning model was implemented, as seen from the N-gain analysis, with a score of 0.60, categorized as moderate. The paired sample t-test analysis indicated a significant difference in improving students' scientific literacy skills before and after the learning process with the RADEC learning model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren pendekatan STEAM untuk meningkatkan keterampilan abad ke 21 siswa SMP pada meteri bioteknologi. Database yang digunakan merupakan Google Schooler melalui aplikasi Publish or Perish dengan rentang tahun 2019-2024 diperoleh sebanyak 131 artikel riset. Berdasarkan tahun riset, tahun 2023 merupakan tahun paling produktif, sumber yang paling banyak yaitu repository.uinjkt.ac.id dengan publisher paling aktif yaitu digilib.unila.ac.id. Melalui aplikasi VOSviewer idapatkan hasil item biotechnology, challange, high school, problem, review, science, critical thinking skill, life merupakan tren yang paling tinggi diantara yang lain.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe the applicability of using guided discovery learning on solar system material, improving science process skills using guided discovery learning models on solar system material, as well as students' responses after learning. The type of research used is one group pretest posttest. Data collection using the method of observation, tests, and questionnaires. The instruments used included learning implementation sheets, LKPD, pretest posttest, and response questionnaires. The results of the data show that the implementation of learning obtains an average score of 93% in the very good category. The increase in science process skills has increased by 0.47 in the moderate category. The student response questionnaire gave a response of 82% in the very good category

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan problem solving siswa melalui soal – soal pada materi tekanan zat cair. Metodologi deskriptif kuantitatif adalah pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan.  metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII-A SMP Labschool Unesa 2. Sebanyak sepuluh soal pilihan ganda pada lembar tes yang mengukur kemampuan problem solving pada materi tekanan zat cair digunakan sebagai instrumen. Siswa diberikan lembar tes sebagai salah satu pendekatan pengumpulan data. Proses analisis data dilakukan dengan menghitung proporsi indikator keterampilan problem solving yang kemudian dikategorikan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah keterampilan problem solving siswa pada empat indikator menurut Polya (1973) tergolong pada kategori kurang dengan persentase indikator memahami masalah 33%, develop a plan 53%, carry out the solution 28%, dan memeriksa kembali hasil 53%. Upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan problem solving siswa dapat dilakukan dengan meperhatikan faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor internal terkait dengan keterampilan kognisi siswa, sedangkan faktor eksternal terkait strategi pembelajaran. Salah satu solusi yang dapat dilakukan seorang guru yakni dengan pemilihan model pembelajaran yang tepat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan meningkatkan prestasi belajar peserta didik dalam materi listrik dinamis melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini melibatkan peserta didik kelas IX semester ganjil di salah satu SMP di Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui pre-test dan post-test. Penilaian pre-test dan post-test dievaluasi dengan menggunakan nilai N-Gain, uji normalitas, dan uji Wilcoxon untuk menilai peningkatan prestasi belajar peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata N-Gain > 0,7, menandakan pencapaian kriteria tinggi. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning telah berhasil mencapai tingkat efektivitas yang diinginkan. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan adanya Positive ranks dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 23, menunjukkan peningkatan prestasi belajar dari pre-test ke post-test untuk seluruh peserta didik.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how biotechnology education focuses on learning implementation, student activities, Science Process Skills (SPS), field constraints, student responses, and to identify future research directions. The study employs descriptive quantitative research involving students at the junior high school Unesa. The data is gathered through observation, test and questionnaire. The data are analysed descriptively. Based on what the observer thought, the data showed that learning went very well. It's mostly made up of talking between students and teachers, like asking questions and having conversations. At most, problem-solving and data collection skills were learned, but things like media, classroom, and time management were not. Student responses were positive to the SETS model, but their understanding of scientific work and evaluation questions needed to be improved. These potentially affect the priority research agenda, which focuses on technology integration, teacher training, contextual learning, interdisciplinary approaches, and the integrated biotechnology of SETS. The study concludes that SETS model learning was carried out very well and received a positive response from students, with active interaction between students and teachers, especially in verbal interaction and SPS, such as formulating problems and data collecting.

Abstract

Usaha di bidang peternakan merupakan usaha yang memberikan kontribusi besar dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan protein hewani. Meskipun usaha di bidang peternakan memberikan peluang besar, keberadaannya seringkali memberikan dampak lingkungan yang tidak diinginkan. Akan tetapi, tidak semua peternakan memberikan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan tergantung dengan manajemen pemeliharaan ternak yang dijalankan.  Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui dampak lingkungan usaha peternakan ayam Jago Karah Farm Surabaya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 03 Mei 2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi lapangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi, wawancara dan survei. Observasi dilakukan secara langsung dengan melihat situasi peternakan. Selanjutnya wawancara dilakukan kepada pemilik ternak, sedangkan survei dilakukan kepada masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitar area peternakan dengan responden sejumlah 15 orang. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usaha peternakan ayam Jago Karah Farm Surabaya tidak menimbulkan dampak lingkungan yang mengganggu masyarakat. Hal ini dapat ditinjau dengan hasil survei yang diperoleh dari masyarakat sekitar. Tidak satu pun dari mereka yang terganggu akibat adanya usaha ternak ini.  Peternakan telah menerapkan manajemen pemeliharaan ternak dengan baik sehingga dampak yang mungkin timbul dari usaha peternakan dapat teratasi.

Abstract

Wordwall is a web-based interactive learning medium that has the potential to enhance students' motivation, interest, learning outcomes, and technological skills. This research aims to examine the impact of using Wordwall on the effectiveness, motivation, and interest in learning fractions among fifth-grade students from an elementary school in Magetan Regency, East Java. The study employed a descriptive research approach with participants consisting of fifth-grade elementary students in Magetan Regency, East Java. Data were collected by administering questions related to the fractional material taught using Wordwall. The analysis showed that Wordwall demonstrated fairly good effectiveness (72.2%), particularly in students’ understanding (88.9%) and recall of fractional concepts (100%), although their problem-solving speed remained low (33.3%). Student motivation was relatively low (66.7%), with only 55.6% choosing Wordwall and acknowledging its implementation. However, the level of interest was high (100%), indicating that Wordwall successfully captured students’ attention and encouraged active learning. In conclusion, this study found that Wordwall is effective in improving students’ understanding and interest in learning, although its impact on learning motivation was not optimal.
