Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of naval power in World War II by comparing the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. The main issue addressed is how maritime dominance influenced the course and outcome of the war, and how naval strategies adapted to geographic and enemy-specific challenges. The research aims to analyze the impact of sea power, the strategic advantages of maritime dominance in logistics and offensives, and to compare the strategic approaches of both theaters. A comparative historical study with a qualitative-analytical approach was employed, based on literature reviews and document analysis. The findings indicate that naval power was crucial for sustaining supply lines and executing military offensives, with a defensive convoy strategy in the Atlantic and an offensive island hopping strategy in the Pacific. These contrasting approaches reflect military flexibility in adapting to terrain and enemy forces. This study confirms that maritime dominance not only shaped tactical victory but also laid the foundation for the postwar global geopolitical order.

Abstract

This study analyses Boris Johnson’s policies on maritime security in the North Atlantic, with a focus on naval modernisation and collaboration with NATO. The study finds that Johnson’s policies focus on improving maritime defence technology and strengthening multilateral cooperation in the face of the Russian submarine threat. Although Brexit has changed the UK’s relationship with the European Union, the UK has maintained its role in maintaining maritime stability through NATO. The results of this study demonstrate the effectiveness of Johnson’s policies in addressing security challenges in the North Atlantic, although there is a need for continued investment in maritime defence technology. Recommendations for further research include longitudinal studies and research on the role of technology.

Abstract

Iran has long utilized the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic tool to strengthen its position in regional and global geopolitics. The research method is qualitative descriptive. Data analysis uses SWOT to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the maritime strategy in the Strait of Hormuz. The research results show that Iran's maritime strategy under Admiral Tangsiri has evolved by enhancing asymmetric defense capabilities, utilizing fast boats, drones, and anti-ship missiles to threaten ships passing through the strait. The analysis includes geopolitical, economic, and security factors influencing maritime policy, as well as how the strategy is used as a tool of diplomacy and military power. Iran has successfully projected its maritime power in the Strait of Hormuz as a form of strategic defense against external threats, despite facing challenges from complex regional dynamics.

Abstract

Employee integrity serves as the fundamental pillar for creating an ethical work environment free from bribery practices. Within organizational settings, integrity does not rely solely on formal regulations and control mechanisms; rather, it is profoundly shaped by the strength of organizational culture, which influences employees’ values, norms, and daily behaviors. Organizational culture functions as a key determinant in fostering both individual and collective ethics through a continuous process of value internalization. This article aims to develop a conceptual framework that explains how organizational culture shapes employee integrity as a preventive and sustainable mechanism for bribery prevention. Adopting a qualitative approach through a systematic and thematic literature review of academic sources and policy reports, this study identifies the dimensions of organizational culture that influence the development of integrity. The findings reveal a limited number of studies that explicitly integrate organizational culture, integrity, and bribery prevention within a single analytical framework. Therefore, this article provides a theoretical contribution by highlighting a conceptual gap that has received little attention, as well as a practical contribution for human resource management functions and compliance units in formulating sustainable, value-based anti-bribery cultural strategies.
