Abstract

Abstract Fire is not merely a disaster, but a risk resulting from human behavior and improper use of equipment and technology. Fires frequently occur in almost every district or city in Indonesia, including residential fires, building fires, market fires, and even forest and land fires. To effectively and quickly respond to fires, adequate skills and abilities are required. Firefighting training is an important tool for training the community, especially residents in a particular area. Schools, as educational institutions, can play a crucial role in providing teachers and students with the experience to actively participate in the event of a fire disaster in their environment.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the condition of latrine facilities and assess environmental health risks in Jetis Village, Nusawungu District, Cilacap Regency. The study is part of the Environmental Health Risk Assessment (EHRA) conducted for the development of the District Sanitation Strategy (SSK). The method employed was a participatory household survey in the selected village, focusing on latrine facility indicators and sanitation behavior based on STBM pillars. The study results indicate that although private latrine access reached 93%, the greatest risk stems from fecal sludge management. A total of 95% of septic tanks were suspected to be unsafe and 67.8% were never emptied, indicating a high potential for contamination. Furthermore, Open Defecation (OD) behavior was still detected in 22.7% of households. These findings highlight the urgency of sanitation interventions focused on improving septic tank safety at the study location.

Abstract

The need for lightweight materials is increasing from year to year. In its application, lightweight and strong materials also need to be corrosion resistant. Corrosion resistance is an important property in automotive, especially in high humidity areas. Al6061-Sea sand material is a novel material that meets the mechanical standards required in the automotive sector. A previous study of Al 6061-sea sand conducted the mechanical properties of the composite. This current research focuses on the development of Al 6061 material with variations in weight fraction of sea sand reinforcement against the corrosion rate under the potentiodynamic method to determine the corrosion resistance of the composite material. The composite fabrication uses the electroless coating method on sea sand and the stir casting method with a melting temperature of 750°C. The agitation process used a four-bladed impeller for 10 minutes at 600 rpm with a stirring depth of ½ of the height of the molten metal. The tests include density testing, microstructure observation, and corrosion rate under the potentiodynamic method using an electrochemical potentiostat. The test result obtained the lowest corrosion rate results in 2% wt sea sand with a corrosion rate of 0.61875 mmpy. The increase in corrosion rate value is directly proportional to the addition of the weight fraction of sea sand.

Abstract

This study presents the design, fabrication, and evaluation of a space-efficient, lightweight, and foldable study table intended to enhance learning conditions in Islamic boarding school (pesantren) environments. The table was designed using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software with a focus on ergonomic principles, particularly a recommended working height of 70 cm to support proper posture. The final product features a durable steel tube frame, a plywood tabletop, and a collapsible leg mechanism, enabling compact storage in limited dormitory spaces. The fabrication process included precision cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and the application of rust-resistant enamel paint, resulting in a total weight of approximately 6.5 kg with a load capacity of 40 kg.To evaluate its effectiveness, five students participated in comparative study sessions using both the old and the new table under controlled conditions. Concentration duration, used as the primary performance indicator, increased from an average of 264 seconds with the old table to 359 seconds with the new one—an improvement of 95 seconds or 36.43%. This enhancement is attributed to improved ergonomic posture, structural stability, and positive psychological effects stemming from user involvement and aesthetic design. The foldable design also allows better space utilization in multifunctional boarding school rooms. Overall, the table demonstrates significant functional and educational benefits and offers a scalable, low-cost solution for learning environments in resource-constrained settings. Future improvements may include using lighter materials and integrating storage or seating features to further improve user experience and usability.

Abstract

Career awareness is an important thing to grow during elementary school children, before entering the middle school level through a career guidance program. The objective of Career awareness training is to increase student career awareness that includes aspects of self-understanding, education exploration and employment, and career planning. The training was held in Singajaya Learning Group, 27 students. Successful training is identified from changes in understanding, behaviour and actions demonstrated both before and after training. The results of the training provided significant changes for the trainees. Advice from the results of the training that the teachers or turor need to give a career guidance program for early career awareness can be achieved and able to provide a way of success for the future of children.
