Abstract

Employee performance is a key driver of organizational effectiveness in Southeast Asia, a region marked by rapid economic change and diverse institutional contexts. Although numerous empirical studies have examined performance determinants in this region, existing findings remain fragmented and lack integration within a comprehensive theoretical framework. This study addresses this gap through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) grounded in the Theory of Performance (ToP). Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, ten Q1–Q3 empirical articles published between 2015 and 2025 from Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand were systematically analyzed. The synthesis indicates that organizational context—particularly high-performance work systems, strategic human resource practices, and talent management—serves as the primary foundation of employee performance. Internal states, especially employee engagement, consistently function as the central mechanism translating contextual support into performance outcomes, including task performance and innovative behavior. Individual capability contributes to performance but operates optimally only when supported by favorable contexts and psychological conditions. Cross-country analysis further reveals contextual variation, with commitment and job satisfaction dominating bureaucratic settings, while engagement and proactive behaviors are more salient in adaptive, knowledge-intensive sectors. This review provides the first integrative ToP-based synthesis of employee performance in Southeast Asia and offers implications for context-sensitive human resource strategies.

Abstract

Technological developments and changes in post-pandemic work patterns have encouraged organizations to adopt a hybrid work culture that combines remote and in-office work. This article is a conceptual analysis that aims to explain how a hybrid work culture affects employee well-being through the integration of various theoretical foundations, such as Job Demands–Resources Theory, Work–Life Balance Theory, Boundary Theory, and Organizational Support Theory. Findings from various studies indicate that a hybrid work culture provides benefits in the form of flexibility, autonomy, reduced commuting time, and increased work-family integration. However, this work model also presents challenges such as technostress, social isolation, role boundary blurring, and workload intensification. This article synthesizes Q1–Q4 journals to develop a conceptual understanding of the mechanisms by which hybrid work influences psychological, social, and occupational well-being. This analysis identifies three main pathways: (1) the dynamics of job demands and job resources, (2) the interaction of the Work–Life Balance and Boundary Management Pathway, and (3) the Organizational Support Pathway. The article concludes with theoretical implications, practical implications, and a future research agenda.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles are integrated into organizational strategy within the broader framework of sustainable strategic management. Drawing on peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2024, this review synthesises theoretical developments, managerial practices, and empirical findings related to ESG-driven strategic transformation. The results highlight three major themes: (1) the shift from traditional profit-centred strategies to purpose-driven and stakeholder-oriented frameworks; (2) the increasing role of ESG metrics in decision-making, performance evaluation, and long-term value creation; and (3) the organizational capabilities required to embed sustainability principles, including leadership commitment, cross-functional collaboration, and transparent reporting. The review also identifies gaps in the current research, particularly regarding the standardisation of ESG measurement, the integration of digital technologies in sustainability governance, and the varying impacts of ESG adoption across industries and regions. These insights contribute to a deeper understanding of how organisations can strategically align ESG initiatives with their competitive advantages and sustainable development goals.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of information overload on the purchase behavior of millennials residing in Java. This study aims to identify the contribution of halal tourism literacy based on self-efficacy theory to visit decisions by integrating push and pull motivation theory as a bridge. Based on this theoretical framework, this study aims to analyze the relationship between halal tourism literacy, internal motivation, and external motivation in encouraging visit decisions. This research was conducted using primary data, namely by distributing questionnaires online via Google Forms and disseminating them through social media, namely Instagram, Line, and WhatsApp. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a sample size of 150 respondents. Data processing uses Partial Least Squares (Smart-PLS) version 3.2.9. This study found that halal tourism literacy does not directly influence the decision to visit, but halal tourism literacy indirectly influences the decision to visit through internal motivation. Similarly, external motivation can mediate the relationship between halal tourism literacy and the decision to visit. This study contributes to resolving the controversy in previous research regarding the influence of halal tourism literacy on travel decisions. This study adds to the existing literature. Instead of relying solely on Halal Tourism Literacy, this study integrates Push and Pull Motivation Theory as a mediating framework, showing that internal and external motivations play a key role in driving the decision to visit Lombok Island. This study offers a more comprehensive, empirical approach, providing valuable insights for tourism stakeholders to focus on Halal compliance and the motivating factors that enhance the appeal of Muslim-friendly destinations.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) implementation on the performance of medical personnel at the Regional General Hospital of West Nusa Tenggara Province, with leadership and organizational culture as moderating variables. The research employs a quantitative associative–causal design using proportional random sampling, involving 93 respondents comprising physicians, nurses, and medical record officers. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings reveal that EMR implementation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (β = 0.245, t = 2.318, p = 0.021). Furthermore, leadership (β = 0.151, t = 2.123, p = 0.034) and organizational culture (β = 0.158, t = 2.068, p = 0.039) significantly moderate this relationship, thereby strengthening the influence of EMR implementation on employee performance. The research model demonstrates substantial explanatory power with an R² value of 0.878, indicating that 87.8% of the variability in employee performance is explained by EMR implementation, leadership, and organizational culture. These findings underscore that effective leadership enhances employee motivation and digital readiness, while an adaptive organizational culture fosters collaboration, accuracy, and innovation in clinical practice.
