Abstract

Duku is one of horticultural crops and tropical fruits that has high commercial value. Government of Jambi Province intends to maintain and develop duku through crop improvements and extensification. For that purpose it needs to understand crop requirement related to land characteristic. The aims of this research were to identify land characteristics that associated to duku productivity, describe the optimum land characteristics to support maximum duku productivity, and to investigate the significance influence of land characteristics on optimum duku productivity. The study used primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through field surveys, including biophysical properties and crop productivity. Secondary data included climate and duku distribution in Jambi Province. Data analysis were used line boundary method analysis and discriminant analysis. Biophysical properties and productivity were plotted on scatter diagram and the distribution of points form a model of the boundary line. The model of the biophysical properties and production relationship could determine land characteristics that associated with optimum productivity. The optimum productivity was associated with soil texture of sandy clay, sandy clay loam, loam, and clay loam, soil depth > 56 cm, soil pH between 4.5 to 6.4, C organic content > 0.60%, CEC was > 16.0 cmol kg-1, base saturation was > 5%, available P was > 1.50 ppm, exchangeable K content > 0.50 cmol kg-1, and Al saturation was < 43%. The discriminant analysis showed that the soil pH had the highest contribution on duku productivity.Key word: Boundary line, Duku, land characteristic, productivity

Abstract

Lahan perlu direncanakan penggunaannya melalui pemilihan penggunaan lahan (land use) yang sesuai dengan kemampuan lahannya, agar penggunaan lahan dapat memberikan hasil produksi yang tinggi, namun sekaligus juga tetap menjaga agar sumberdaya lahan dapat digunakan secara berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan lahan aktual dan rencana penggunaan lahan. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan berbasis pada kemampuan lahan. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah konfrontasi antara kemampuan lahan, penggunaan lahan aktual dan alokasi pola ruang dalam Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Pontianak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kabupaten Pontianak memiliki kelas kemampuan lahan II, III, IV, V dan VI. Lahan dengan kelas kemampuan lahan V dominan, mencakup luas 31% dari luas wilayah penelitian, dengan faktor penghambat drainase. Lahan dengan kemampuan lahan kelas II mencakup 24% dari luas wilayah, dengan faktor penghambat tekstur, drainase dan lereng. Saat ini, 79% luas wilayah Kabupaten Pontianak, penggunaan lahannya telah sesuai dengan kemampuan lahannya, sementara 21% dari luas wilayah, penggunaan lahannya melebihi kemampuan lahannya. Sebesar 81% luas wilayah Kabupaten Pontianak telah dialokasikan dalam RTRW sesuai dengan kemampuan lahannya, sedangkan 19% luas wilayah, alokasi pola ruangnya melebihi kemampuan kemampuan lahan. Abstract

Pertumbuhan penduduk, peningkatan pendapatan, dan pesatnya pembangunan menjadikan permasalahan penggunaan lahan semakin kompleks. Lahan berperan sebagai penyedia pangan, namun di sisi lain permintaan lahan di luar sektor pertanian terus meningkat secara signifikan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan penduduk. Kabupaten Cianjur merupakan kabupaten dengan luas sawah terbesar pertama di bagian selatan Provinsi Jawa Barat. Namun, konversi lahan sawah menjadi lahan pertanian lain atau lahan non-pertanian menyebabkan penurunan luas baku sawah. Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk: (1) menganalisis pola perubahan penggunaan dan penutupan lahan, (2) mengevaluasi kesesuaian lahan untuk sawah, dan (3) menganalisis potensi perluasan penggunaan lahan untuk sawah. Pola perubahan penggunaan dan penutupan lahan diidentifikasi menggunakan citra Landsat tahun perekaman 2000 dan 2015 dengan teknik fusi citra. Kesesuaian lahan untuk sawah dianalisis menggunakan metoda faktor pembatas minimum. Potensi perluasan lahan untuk sawah mengacu pada kesesuaian lahan dan alokasi lahan pada Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah (RTRW). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada periode analisis, lahan sawah paling banyak terkonversi menjadi pemukiman. Lahan di Kabupaten Cianjur memiliki tingkat kesesuaian lahan untuk sawah sesuai (S2) (9.53%), sesuai marjinal (S3) (29.28%) dan tidak sesuai (N) (61.19%). Saat ini, masih tersedia potensi lahan untuk perluasan sawah di Kabupaten Cianjur seluas 148,980 ha. Kata kunci: Perubahan penggunaan lahan, prioritas potensi sawah, kesesuaian lahan untuk sawah

Abstract

Micromorphology is a branch of science in soil science. In micromorphological studies, soil samples are first prepared as a thin slice (with various methods), then the phenomena inside are examined using a microscope. By knowing the composition, shape, orientation, distribution patterns, structures, etc., the phenomena that occur can be interpreted, both regarding the composition of the soil, the relationship between components and the dynamics of the process that has been, moderate or expected to occur in the soil. Thus, micromorphology can and is very prospective to be developed and applied for various uses outside the field of soil science.

Abstract

The increase in population occurs in Indonesia every year. This results in a high demand for space. Indramayu Regency is one of the regencies with high dynamics of land use and cover, which is indicated by an increase in residential area of 14.8 ha year-1 and a decrease in rice fields by an average of 13.9 ha year-1. This study aimed to identify the types of land use and cover in order to become a reference for analyzing the spatial dynamics of land use and cover in Indramayu Regency. Spatial dynamics of land use and cover were identified through Landsat 7 and Sentinel-2A which were then analyzed for overall accuracy, Kappa accuracy, validation using Google Earth, and overlays to produce maps of land use and cover dynamics in 2005, 2011 and 2021. The results showed that there are 8 classes of land use and cover in Indramayu Regency, namely forest, open land, dry land agriculture, dry land agriculture, mixed dry land, rice fields, settlements, ponds, water bodies. Paddy fields have a dominant area along the observation point (>61%) which are spread the central part of Indramayu Regency. The percentage of residential area increased by 0.8% from 33,724 ha (16.2%) to 35,377 ha (17.0%) in the period 2005-2021. Meanwhile, the percentage of pond area increased by 0.5% from 23,221 ha (11.1%) to 24,163 ha (11.6%) during that period. The increase in population and economic level are some of the factors causing the dynamics of land change in Indramayu Regency.

Abstract

Meningkatnya penggunaan energi terbarukan yang bersumber dari biomassa kayu sudah seharusnya dipenuhi melalui pengembangan hutan tanaman energi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis potensi lahan kritis untuk pengembangan hutan tanaman energi di Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Tingkat kesesuaian lahan kritis yang tersedia dianalisis berdasarkan 20 kriteria menggunakan metode fuzzy linguistic ordered weighted averaging (FLOWA) berbasis sistem informasi geografis (SIG). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 52.623 ha lahan kritis di Lombok Timur, luasan yang tersedia untuk pengembangan hutan tanaman energi adalah 8.422 ha. Pada skenario sangat optimis, keseluruhan lahan kritis tersedia tersebut sangat sesuai untuk dikembangkan. Sebaliknya pada skenario sangat pesimis, 70% luas lahan kritis tersebut kurang sesuai untuk dikembangkan, sedangkan sisanya tidak sesuai. Pada skenario netral, 6.416,9 ha atau 76% dari lahan kritis yang tersedia sangat sesuai untuk dikembangkan, sedangkan sisanya dapat dikategorikan cukup sesuai. Dalam pengembangan hutan tanaman energi, harus diutamakan pada lokasi-lokasi dengan tutupan semak belukar atau lahan terbuka, dengan skema pengembangan disesuaikan dengan status lahannya

Abstract

Decrease in water availability due to changes in land use has been occurred in Konawe, while water demand is likely to increase. In terms of the sustainability of water supply, it is quite worrying. This study aims to analyze: (1) level of sustainability, (2) important factors that affect sustainability, (3) role of institutions in the sustainable management of water resources in the Konaweha Sub Watershed. MDS analysis with Rap-Konawe results showed the status of the sustainability of water supplies in Konaweha SubWatershed is less sustainable with the sustainability index of 41,40%. Ecological dimension is sustainable enough (52,36%), economic dimension is less sustainable (36,93%), social dimension is less sustainable (34,16%), technology dimension is less sustainable (35,39%), and institutional dimension is less sustainable (35,39%). ISM analysis results showed that there are three elements that need to be considered: (1) Constraints (reduction in water absorption due to reduced function of vegetation in catchment area, and lack of coordination of water resource management among stakeholders), (2) Needs (improvement of knowledge and skills of government personnel, and increase the awareness of stakeholders), and (3) Institutions (BPDAS Sampara and Forest Service).

Abstract

This study aimed to analyse the sustainability of vegetables horticultural farming on sloping land in the upstream Jeneberang watershed based on the index evaluation and the status of sustainability by Rap-farm method using Multidimensional Scaling (MDS).Results of ordination technique analysis Rap-farm method of MDS showed that index of vegetables horticultural farming sustainability ranged from 32.19-62.53. Dimension of ecological, economical, institutional, and technological included into sustainable enough category, while social dimension, included into less sustainable category in vegetables horticultural farming systems.Results of leverage Rap-farm analysis showed that from 43 attributes that were analyzed, there were 23 sensitive attributes that affected into the sustainability of vegetables horticultural farming systems in the upstream of Jeneberang watershed.

Abstract

ABSTRAKMencukupi kebutuhan pangan masih merupakan masalah yang kompleks, sehingga tidak bisa dipecahkan secara parsial. Penetapan luas lahan optimum usahatani padi sawah adalah langkah strategis untuk mencapai kemandirian pangan secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian bertujuan menetapkan luas lahan optimum usahatani padi sawah mendukung kemandirian pangan berkelanjutan di NTB. Analisis yang digunakan meliputi analisis indeks dan status keberlanjutan dengan metode Multi-dimensional Scaling, analisis prospektif, analisis kebutuhan hidup layak petani, dan formulasi struktur model dinamik menggunakan Powersim 2.5d yang divalidasi uji MAPE. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai indeks sistem produksi padi sawah di NTB 54,53 persen dengan status cukup berkelanjutan. Faktor yang paling berpengaruh adalah konversi lahan sawah, pertumbuhan penduduk, luas baku sawah, harga gabah, kebijakan pemerintah, luas panen, jaringan irigasi, modal, dan pendapatan petani. Luas lahan minimal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup layak petani 0,73 ha KK-1 sedangkan luas lahan garapan rata-rata 0,48 ha KK-1. Kontribusi pendapatan usahatani padi sawah terhadap kebutuhan hidup layak sebesar 55,73 persen. Hasil simulasi kinerja skenario menunjukkan bahwa provinsi NTB akan mengalami defisit produksi padi tahun 2017 apabila menjalankan skenario pesimis. Berdasarkan potensi, kendala, dan peluang keberhasilan setiap skenario, dapat disimpulkan bahwa skenario intervensi yang paling rasional adalah skenario moderat dengan luas lahan sawah yang harus dipertahankan untuk mencapai kemandirian pangan tahun 2023 minimal seluas 196.330 ha dari 239.127 ha tahun 2010, pada tingkat kepercayaan 95 persen.

Abstract

Strong opinions have been expressed toward oil palm plantation industry in Indonesia, and these opinions portray that oil palm plantation development in Indonesia has caused the destruction of the environment. One of the efforts currently undertaken by the Indonesian government to ensure the sustainability of the palm oil industry is establishing sustainability standard called the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) which is mandatory. ISPO is "guidance" for sustainable oil palm development as well as a commitment based on the laws and regulations aplication of some licenses in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the capability of oil palm plantation companies in the regional to meet the standards of the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) and to identify the problems faced in achieving these standards. This research was conducted in East Kalimantan province on the period June 2012-May 2013. Evaluation of the capability of the companies to achieve the ISPO standards was performed by the audit method, assessment results of all parameters that had been established in accordance with the Principles, Criteria and Indicators in the provision of ISPO which were assessed in a percent unit. The research results showed that the capability of the plantation companies in East Kalimantan in meeting the ISPO standards reached 79,14%, and this capability can be improved up to 100% by increasing efforts to comply with the principles, criteria and indicators that are still not in accordance with the provisions of ISPO are as follows: 1). Licence system and plantation management, 2). Aplication guidance cultivation technics and processing palm fruit, 3). Management and monitoring invironment, 4). Resposibility to workers, and 5). Social resposibility and community. The determantion factor performance on ISPO standard is the commitment of plantation company as a business stakeholder that supported by capable human resources to create the sustainable plantation development and also the goverment action in charge as the regulator in supervising the policy that has been set. Socialization and training about principles and criteria ISPO standard to plantation company needs soon and more intensively done by the government association with ISPO commission to accelerate the application of the ISPO. Socialization and training also are required in order to overcome the constraints in attainment of principles and criteria of the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil standard, because of the mentioned efforts are the part of success factors to apply the ISPO.Keyword: ISPO, Management, Palm Oil, Plantations, Sustainable.
