Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis karakter peduli lingkungan, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik melalui pembelajaran pencemaran lingkungan berbantuan scaffolding. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif kolaboratif. Penentuan subjek penelitian secara purposive. Peneliti sebagai instrumen kunci dilengkapi lembar pengamatan, soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, pedoman wawancara, dan alat perekam. Analisis data menggunakan deskripsi kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelima subjek penelitian (P1, P2, P3, P4, dan P5) terjadi peningkatan karakter peduli lingkungan. Akan tetapi pembentukan keterampilan berpikir kritis P5 belum berhasil. Subjek penelitian dapat mencapai KKM yang ditentukan. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah subjek penelitian dapat meningkat dari tingkatan kelas kognitif mereka berasal kecuali P5. Skor kemampuan pemecahan masalah subjek penelitian secara berturut-turut adalah 94, 100, 88, 82, dan 60. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa karakter peduli lingkungan, keterampilan berpikir kritis dapat terbentuk serta kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik dapat mencapai KKM melalui pembelajaran pencemaran lingkungan berbantuan scaffolding. Diharapkan dengan hasil penelitian ini, bisa  menjadi masukan bagi guru maupun sekolah agar melaksanakan pembelajaran yang memfasilitasi peserta didik sehingga karakter peduli lingkungan dan berpikir kritis peserta didik dapat terbentuk, salah satunya dengan pembelajaran berbantuan scaffolding.   The purpose of this research are to analyze the character of environmental awareness, critical thinking skill, and problem solving ability of student through the learning of environmental pollution assisted by scaffolding. This research is collaborative qualitative research. The determination of research subjects is purposively. Researcher as key instrument is equipped with observation papers, test of problem solving ability, interview guide, and recorder. Analyze of data is using qualitative descriptions.  The result is fifth research subjects (P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5) showed increasing of their character of environmental awareness. But the formation of P5’s critical thinking skills has not been succeeded. Research subjects can achieve determined MCC (minimum completeness criteria). Problem solving ability of research subjects is increase from grade level cognitive they come from, except P5. Score of problem solving ability of research subjects respectively are 94, 100, 88, 82, and 60. This indicates that the character of environmental awareness, critical thinking skills can be formed and problem solving ability of students can achieve determined MMC through learning of environmental pollution assisted by scaffolding. Expected with this result, it can be input for teachers and schools to carry out learning that facilitate students so that the character of environmental awareness and the critical thinking skill of students can be formed,one of them with the learning assisted by scaffolding.

Abstract

Penerapan pembelajaran IPA Terpadu di SMP menimbulkan persepsi guru yang berbeda. Hal ini dikarenakan guru harus menguasai ketiga bidang ilmu sekaligus (Fisika, Kimia, dan Biologi). Penerapan Pembelajaran IPA di dalam kelas oleh guru akan membentuk persepsi siswa terhadap pembelajaran IPA Terpadu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk 1. Menganalisis persepsi guru dan siswa terhadap pembelajaran IPA Terpadu, 2. Mengajukan suatu desain pembelajaran IPA Terpadu sesuai dengan analisis persepsi yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah mixed method diawali penelitian kualitatif untuk mendapatkan data persepsi guru dan siswa dilanjutkan dengan penelitian kuantitatif berupa pengujian desain pembelajaran yang diajukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menurut persepsi guru penerapan pembelajaran IPA Terpadu belum mendapatkan dukungan yang memadai, diantaranya bahan ajar yang belum sepenuhnya terpadu, guru yang belum menguasai materi ketiga bidang ilmu, serta keterbatasan waktu. Di sisi lain, siswa mempersepsikan pembelajaran IPA Terpadu sudah cukup baik. Berdasarkan persepsi tersebut, diajukan desain pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Berdasarkan analisis secara kuantitatif, hasil uji coba desain pembelajaran tersebut menunjukkan valid, praktis, dan efektif.   Application of integrated science teaching in junior high school caused teacher raises a different perception. It is associated with having mastered the three disciplines as well (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) by teachers. As well as the application of learning in the classroom by the teacher will shape students' perceptions.The objectives of this research are to 1. analyze the perceptions of teachers and students, toward the integrated science learning, 2.  develop the design of integrated science learning as the implication of the perceptions of teachers and students. The method that is used in this research is mixed method, which is started with a qualitative research, and then followed by a quantitative research. The result of teachers perceptions is has not been any well integrated teaching material that connect two or three subjects in science. Teachers still find difficult to deliver the integrated materials and also the limitation of time in delivering integrated science material. In other to, the students' perception toward the integrated science learning has already been good. Whereas the suggested learning design is discovery learning. The results of trials of the learning design show its validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

Students' success is determined by the conceptual that has been owned by the students while studying certain theme. New concepts will be elusive if the relevant concepts have not been owned by the students. Based on the observation and interview in SMP Negeri 1 Doro indicated that the heat concept is one of the elusive concept in science learning by the students. This study aims to: (1) describe the misconception experienced by students on the heat theme using a diagnostic test that is three-tier multiple choice, (2) determine the implementation of learning cycle 7E model-based multiple representation on the heat theme, (3) determine the effectiveness of the application of the learning cycle 7E model-based multiple representation in reducing misconceptions students on the heat theme. This study used a mixed method research with concurrent triangulation strategy. The identification results of students misconceptions on the heat theme obtained by average percentage of students' conceptions in the category Know the Concept (TK) is 43.44%. The average percentage of students' conceptions in the category Don’t Know the Concepts (TTK) is 15.31%. The average percentage of all misconceptions (MK) experienced by students in heat theme is 41.26%. Sub heat themes that most experienced misconceptions are ice melt events, boiling water events, heat calculations in the chart, the specific heat of water and oil, the absorption and release of heat, and the relationship of the specific heat with temperature changes. The implementation of learning cycle 7E model-based multiple representation obtained by the average percentage of 84.67% with the criteria very well. Learning cycle 7E model-based multiple representation became effective in reducing students misconceptions on the heat theme due to the decrease percentage of students misconceptions in the experimental class 18.72% is higher than the control class which only 9.68%. The analysis calculation result of the Equal Variance Assumed against independent sample of t test  towards the decrease of misconceptions level indicate significance (2-tailed) of 0.003 < 0.05, which means that there are differences in average reduction of misconceptions in the experimental class and control class.            Students' success is determined by the conceptual that has been owned by the students while studying certain material. Abstract

The ability of students in solving problems in science learning is influenced by the thinking skills that determine how people solve problems, make decisions, and understand something. This study aimed to describe the creative thinking skills of students in science learning. The study was conducted in SDN Gunung Sari 1, SDN Gunung Sari 2, SD Inpres BTN IKIP I , and SD Inpres BTN IKIP II Makassar BTN 2017/2018 school year. The study was conducted on 12 students from four schools. The data collection technique using observation, testing and interview. The study was conducted in three stages, starting with the observation during the learning takes place, then give the creative thinking skills test item and continue to do the interview. The results showed that most of the students have a high creative thinking skills. It can be concluded students with the attitude of creative thinking skills high skill fluency, flexibility, Originality, and elaboration and students with the process of creative thinking skills high skill imaginative, feel challenged, dare to take risks, and appreciate nature.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively is one of the 21st century abilities that students must have. Curious Note Program (CNP) learning model helps students to maintain the creativity and scientific ability of students.  This research aims to determine the improvement of students' creative thinking skills through student worksheets (LKPD) based on Curious Note Program learning model. This research design uses One Group Pre-Posttest. The instrument data collection uses LKPD based on CNP learning model and a description of the ability to think creatively. The research subjects used were students of class X in Temanggung State MA in the academic year 2017/2018.  The results showed that through LKPD based on the CNP learning model it could improve students' creative thinking skills with n-gain of 43% in the medium category. Meanwhile, to increase each indicator based on the acquisition of n-gain of 27% fluency in the low category, 37% flexibility in the medium category, originality 22% in the low category and elaboration 56% in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) examine the feasibility of android  virtual laboratory application in motion of objects material. (2) examine the practicality of android  virtual laboratory application in motion of objects material. (3) find out the effectiveness of students’ conceptual understanding and learning motivation after participating in learning process with the guided inquiry model. (4) find out the difference in students’ conceptual understanding and learning motivation after participating in the guided inquiry model assisted by the android virtual laboratory application . This study used a research and development (R&D) approach by adapting the Alessi and Trolip development models. The participants were 106 grade VIII students at SMP 1 Jepon. The research instruments were conceptual understanding tests, motivational questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The hypothesis testing of the study was carried out by the Wilcoxon test, the Mann Whitney test, and Independent Simples test using the SPSS program. The results of the study revealed that: (1) The android  virtual laboratory developed application  was very feasible to be used with an average percentage of eligibility alpha test of 83.34% from media experts, 70.5% from material experts, and 92.9%, from the beta test. (2) Students’ responses to the use of android virtual laboratory application scored 27.32 % which means it was "practical" to be used for learning process in science subject. (3) The experimental class was more effective shown by the increase of students’ conceptual understanding and motivation seen from the gain value. (4) There was a significant difference in the average of the students’ conceptual understanding and motivation of in the experimental class with the control class.

Abstract

Misconceptions of students scientific literacy can be overcome by knowing in advance the alternative concepts students have. One technique that can be used to trace students misconceptions is using multiple choice diagnostic tests. This research aim was developing three tier multiple choice test based on aspects of scientific literacy in science material. We used Research  and  Development (R&D) as the research method. The phase of method implementation analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). The results of the study showed that the product of this research was 37 items three tier multiple choice test based on scientific literacy aspect. The product were developed in a reliable and valid category with a reliability value of r11>rtabel is 1,024>0,3061 and each expert give a validity score of 16, 13 and 14. Characteristics of items with difficulty levels mostly in the medium category. The distinguishing features in most categories is accepted. Each item is arranged based on aspects of scientific literacy with a comparison category A: B: C: D: E is 35%: 20%: 20%: 17.5%. Profil of misconceptions of scientific literacy the proportion of about 35,1 % knowledge aspect, 34,8 % about the competence in the investigation, 33 % about the science as a way of thinking, and 31,4 % about the science relations with technology, society, and the environment as a context and attitude to science. The results of developing this question can be used as teacher as an alternative item to identify misconceptions in students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the TPCK ability of the prospective teachers in preparing, planning, and implementing of learning on atomic structure material. The type of research is a descriptive study with qualitative design. The research subjects were ten prospective teachers who were implementing the PPL in five Senior High Schools in Banda Aceh. The data collection was done in three stages, identifying the CoRe instrument, analyzingthe teaching plan, observing the prospective teachers learning. Firstly, the results showed the TPCK ability of the prospective teachers in preparing of learning is in a good category, butthe ability in the CK, PK, TCK and TPK components are still low. Secondly, the TPCK ability of prospective teachers in the planning are at the moderate category, but average of the prospective teachers ability in the PK, TPK, PCK, and TCK components are still low. Lastly, the TPCK ability of prospective teachers in implementing of learning is in a good category, but the analysis of the components of PK, CK, TPK and TCK scores of prospective teachers are still low.

Abstract

Education in the 21st Century is expected to produce human resources that have the ability to face the challenges in the development of science and technology so fast. 21st Century skills that need to be developed in students include critical thinking skills, creative thinking, collaboration, and communication. This research has purpose to determine the effectiveness of the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) aided mind mapping to increase creative thinking skills and student collaboration. Type of research was mixed methods research design sequential exploratory. The sample of the research were 30 students of grade VIII D consisting of 16 male students and 14 female students. The analysis of the data in this research using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results showed that there is an increase in scores obtained by students in creative thinking and collaboration skills. The benefits of this research for educators are to provide effective learning model reference to be used in developing the creative thinking skills and student collaboration. Based on the result of the research, can be concluded that the PBL teaching model with mind mapping in motion and force effective to be applied in developing the creative thinking skills and student collaboration.

Abstract

Learning process at senior high school still based on textbook oriented. It makes students less concerned with the environment especially the school environment where they study. Such condition requires a real action to solve so that the level of environmental awareness of the students is increased. This research aims to determine the relevance of research on teaching materials, ethnopedagogics, and environmental awareness character as well as the effectiveness of ethno pedagogic-based-teaching materials on environmental awareness character for senior high school students based on literature review. This research uses the literature review method to obtain the data. Teaching materials provide added value when sourced from the environment around the school (ethnopedagogic). Ethnopedagogy–based-teaching materials will increase character cares for the environment of high school students.
