Abstract

Social anxiety is a common human experience, including among students. Social anxiety is a form of anxiety and fear of the judgment or views of other people. This research aims to reveal the influence of self-compassion and emotional regulation on social anxiety. This research uses quantitative research using survey and correlational designs. The subjects of this research were 159 IAIN Kerinci students. This research data was expressed using the Measuring the Scale and Scope of Social Anxiety among Students instrument, producing a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.939. The Short Form of the Self-Compassion Scale produced a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.779, The Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale: The DERS-16 produced a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.923, then the research results were processed using descriptive statistical analysis and hypothesis testing using simple and multiple regression techniques. The results of the analysis of the influence of self-compassion on social anxiety show a value of t = -5.447 with a significance value of 0.000. The second hypothesis which tested the influence of emotional regulation on social anxiety obtained a value of t = -9.373 with a significance value of 0.000, then testing using multiple regression obtained t = -.904 at a significance level of 0.367. Then t-count = -7.050 at a significance level of 0.000, then H0 is rejected, meaning the regression coefficient is significant. The research results showed that self-compassion and emotional regulation influence social anxiety. It is hoped that future researchers will reveal the influence of self-compassion and emotional regulation on social anxiety among students and society for a wider distribution.

Abstract

Corruption is a serious problem for many countries in the world, especially developing countries. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to analyze anti-corruption education in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore from the aspects of policy and practice. The literature review model used is PRISMA which produces 70 articles that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis results show that anti-corruption education policies in the three countries are contained in written regulations, such as government regulations and regulations of the ministry of education. In addition, corruption eradication institutions in each country also make policies regarding corruption prevention through learning in schools and universities. The practice of preventing corruption through education in Indonesia and Malaysia is almost the same, namely through internalization of anti-corruption values into specific subjects, while Singapore places more emphasis on character education which is implemented using a particular curriculum. Even though the methods used are almost the same, Singapore is the country with the third-lowest level of corruption rate in the world. Legal products and their good application and high public awareness are the factors that influence them. Prevention of corruption is not enough only to be pursued by the government, but it needs the support of all parties, such as parents and society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of counselors in providing spiritual counseling services to reduce bullying trauma among students in Islamic higher education institutions. The research design employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The participants are lecturers from the Islamic Education Guidance and Counseling Department at State Islamic Higher Education Institutions. Data collection instruments include a questionnaire measuring lecturers' readiness and understanding in implementing spiritual counseling. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that the majority of lecturers feel prepared to provide spiritual counseling services, as reflected in their experience, knowledge, and confidence in integrating Islamic values into the counseling process. However, there is a subset of lecturers who are not fully prepared, highlighting the need for ongoing professional training and support. Despite a high interest in spiritual counseling, its implementation in practice, particularly in addressing bullying cases, remains suboptimal. These findings suggest a gap between interest and practice, emphasizing the importance of developing relevant and practical spiritual counseling models. Overall, the results reinforce the argument that Islam-based spiritual counseling, which incorporates values such as patience, sincerity, reliance on God, and self-purification, can be an effective approach to mitigating the psychological impacts of bullying

Abstract

The escalating prevalence of psychological issues in modern society underscores the need for counseling approaches that transcend purely rational and behavioral strategies to encompass the spiritual dimension of human experience. This article aims to conceptualize a foundational model of spiritual counseling rooted in Buya Hamka's Tazkiyatun an-Nafs framework, presenting an integrative alternative deeply embedded in local values. Employing a qualitative-conceptual approach, this study proposes a three-phase counseling structure: pre-counseling, core process, and post-counseling. This model integrates the principles of Takhalli (purifying the heart from negative influences), Tahalli (adorning the heart with positive values), and Tajalli (guiding individuals to rediscover deeper meaning and purpose in life). The model emphasizes counseling as a process of spiritual recovery aimed at alleviating psychological problems, facilitated through personalized, reflective, and transformative guidance. While conceptual, this article significantly contributes to the contextualization of Islamic counseling and lays the groundwork for future empirical research.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology brings not only positive impacts but also new challenges for adolescents, including risks to digital mental health (cyber wellness) and increasing cases of bullying, both offline and online. In response, this Community Service Program (PkM) was designed to empower teenagers in Pasar Sungai Tanduk Village, Kerinci Regency, to become agents of change in promoting wise internet use and bullying prevention in their community. The program employed a participatory approach based on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), actively involving youth in all stages of the program—from needs assessment to evaluation. A total of 30 adolescents aged 13 to 18 from diverse social, economic, and educational backgrounds participated in the activities, which were held at the Grand Mosque of Pasar Sungai Tanduk Village. The program consisted of workshops, interactive discussions, mentoring sessions, and youth-led social campaigns. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in participants' understanding (from an average score of 45 to 85), with 83.3% actively involved in campaign planning and execution. Furthermore, 92% reported increased confidence in identifying and reporting bullying incidents, and 88% felt more mindful in their internet usage. Notably, 70% of participants shared their knowledge within their local environment. This program successfully empowered adolescents to become more digitally aware and proactive in creating a safe and inclusive community.

Abstract

This study examines the contribution of spiritual and emotional intelligence to self-regulated learning among 300 Indonesian high school students. The main problem addressed is low self-regulated learning, characterized by lack of motivation, procrastination, and infrequent material review. A quantitative ex post facto design with simple random sampling was employed. Data were collected using standardized Likert scales and analyzed via multiple linear regression and independent sample t-tests. Results showed significant associations between spiritual and emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning (R = 0.489, R² = 0.284, F = 15.988, p < 0.001), with partial contributions of 16.1% and 12.8%, respectively. No significant gender differences in self-regulated learning were found. These findings underscore the importance of spiritual and emotional intelligence development to enhance self-regulated learning. Practical implications include integrating spiritual and emotional development modules into curricula, counseling programs, and self-management training.
