This research aims to determine the internal characteristics and external characteristics of the palm oil independent smallholder farmer and communication process (elements of communication) in Bagan Sinembah district, Rokan Hilir Regency. Bagan Sinembah district is a district in Rokan Hilir Regency, where the population of palm oil is cultivated. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the characteristics of internal and external palm oil independent smallholder farmer as well as the process of communication using the survey method, selection of samples with purposive sampling methods and analysis tools Likert scale and Descriptive analysis. The results showed that the internal characteristics and external characteristics of oil palm farmers in Bagan Sinembah District, Rokan Hilir Regency are in high category (good). While the communication process in this research is seen from the elements of communication consist of extension, group chairman and management of KUD as communicator; The message is about oil palm cultivation techniques, market prices and so on which are summarized in the agribusiness system; Media used for face-to-face meetings (lectures and discussions); Farmers as communfishes; The effect of increasing knowledge, belief and behavioral change; The feedback gained is that the farmer understands with the information provided and applies the information in his venture; Physical environment namely the village hall, APKASINDO office and oil palm plantation land owned by the farmer.

The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of individual rubber farmer self-help pattern in Lubuk Terentang Village and analyze the relationship between individual characteristics of farmers with communication networks in spreading farming information. Gunung Toar is a district famous for its rubber plantations which can be seen from the consistency of its farmers in producing and marketing their products through rubber auctions. most related to the communication network of farmers formed in the progress of rubber farming in the Lubuk Terentang Village. This research was conducted using snowball sampling to find the actors involved. Furthermore, the actors involved are measured by three communication network indicators namely local centrality, global centrality and togetherness. The next, individual characteristics are tested with Spearman Rank correlation. The results of this study describe the age of farmers in the category of capable and educated, have family dependents and experienced in difficult fields, land area and the level of moderate category of cosmopolitan. While the intensity of counseling, the accuracy of extension channels and the number of sources of information are in the high category. The characteristics of individual farmers who have a relationship with communication network indicators are age, education, family responsibilities, farming experience, land area, cosmopolitanism, intensity of counseling, accuracy of extension channels, and the number of sources of information.

MSMEs are a fairly hard hit effort during the pandemic. Therefore, increasing the business capacity of MSMEs needs to be done to revive MSME businesses to compete and increase the income of business actors. The purpose of this activity is to increase the business capacity of MSMEs in Labuh Baru Village East of Pekanbaru City. Two activities carried out to achieve the goal are (1) Training in making cassava leaf nori, which is a contemporary food with easily available raw materials, and (2) Socialization of business legality management such as P-IRT needed for MSMEs so that their products can be accepted by the market. This activity is integrated with the activities of students of Riau University, this activity has been able to increase the knowledge and skills of participants about the manufacture of cassava leaf nori and business legality (P-IRT). It is expected that this activity will be able to increase the capacity and income of MSME actors in Labuh Baru Village East of Pekanbaru City.

Penggunaan teknologi komunikasi dan informasi (TIK) tidak dapat dapat dipungkiri dapat mempercepat arus akses informasi dan komunikasi di masyarakat, termasuk petani. Oleh karena itu tujuan kegiatan ini adalaha meningkatkan pengetahuan petani dalam menggunakan aplikasi pemasaran produk pertanian. Peserta kegiatan penyuluhan ini adalah petani hortikulitura yang menanam komoditi ubi kayu, timun, pepaya. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam bentuk penyuluhan penggunaan aplikasi pemasaran online (Pak Tani Digital) di Desa Bukit Lingkar. Hasil dari kegiatan ini telah mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam menggunakan aplikasi pemasaran online. Diharapkan pemasaran produk pertannian lebih luas dengan harga yang lebih bersain, sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan petani. Perlu pembinaan lebih lanjut supaya petani benar-benar dapat menggunakan aplikasi dalam pemasaran produk pertaniannya.

This research aims to (1) know the level of motivation of broiler breeders partnership (contract farming) in Pekanbaru City, (2) know the level of satisfaction of broiler breeders partnership (contract farming) in Pekanbaru City, (3) know the level of performance broiler breeders partnership (contract farming) in Pekanbaru City and (4) analyze the influence of motivation and satisfaction on the performance of broiler breeders partnership (contract farming) in Pekanbaru City. This research uses secondary data and primary data, secondary data obtained from the central statistical agency, primary data obtained by direct interview using the questionnaire. Retrieval method using convenience sampling technique. Qualitative data analysis is Likert-scale interpretation and multiple linear regression interpretation with SPSS 23 include: coefficient of determination, F test, and t test. Likert scale results in the motivation variable showed a score of 3.69, this shows that breeders feel motivated in partnering. The value of satisfaction score is 3.71 which means in partnership of breeders included in the category of satisfaction. As for the performance variables obtained average score is 3.15 indicates that the breeder is in the category well enough in doing business. Multiple linear regression results show that the coefficient of determination is 0.623, meaning that 62.3 percent of performance is influenced by motivation and satisfaction variables, while the remaining 37.7 percent is influenced by other variables outside the equation model.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of government policy changes on aspects of production, allocation of working time, income and households expenditure of vegetable farmer in Pekanbaru City. The econometric approach of simultaneous equations with the Two Stage Least Squares method is used to answer the purpose of the study. The main findings of this research are: Firstly, simulation of increase of vegetable price have a positive impact to household economic decision of farmer. Secondly, the simulation of the decline in fertilizer prices also has a positive impact on the households economic decision of farmer. Thirdly, the simulation of increased wages of labor negatively impacts the economic decisions of farm households. Fourthly, the policy of increasing vegetable prices has a greater impact on household economic decision making than the policy of fertilizer price reduction. The policy implications that governments can take to increase household incomes are by increasing vegetable prices and maintaining the stability of input prices. Extension activities on appropriate harvest and post harvest handling techniques and the expansion of the target market can increase the price of the commodity produced so that the impact on the increase in households income of farmer.

This research aims to (1) identify the range performance of Micro Financial Institutions (MFI) UED-SP in Kunto Darussalam sub-district Rokan Hulu district (2) Analyze factors affecting depth of outreach UED-SP MFI in Kunto Darussalam sub-district Rokan Hulu district. The type of data used in this research is secondary data derived from financial report of UED-SP MFI in Kunto Darussalam sub-district, Report of the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Scientific journals and other institutions that support this research. The data analysis method used is descriptive statistical analysis and quantitative analysis by using analysis tool Econometrica data panel, where this research use software Eviews series 9. Through the Chow test and Hausman test, the panel data regression model used is fixed effect model (FEM). The result of data analysis shows that together (F-statistic test) the estimation result shows that the six independent variables ( Age of UED-SP MFI (AGE), return on asset (ROA), average values loan (AVL), capital asset ratio (CAR),amount of woman borrowers (POWB) and amount of trade sector borrowers (TRADE) ) have a significant effect on the variable average outstanding loan (AOL). Partially (t-statistic test), from the six independent variables used in this study, only two independent variables (age UED-SP MFI (AGE) and amount of trade sector borrowers (TRADE)) which has a significant effect on depth of outreach. Coefficient of determination test results (R2) Shows the value of R2 is equal to 0,9552 which means 95,52% depth of outreach variation can be explained by variation of age of UED-SP MFI (AGE), return on assets (ROA), average values loan (AVL), capital asset ratio (CAR), amount of woman borrowers (POWB), and amount of trade sector borrowers (TRADE). While the rest of 4,48 percent can be explained by other variables that are not included in the model.

The implementation of the oil palm replanting program for smallholders (PSR) has experienced many problems, especially related to the flow of information and communication between various parties and smallholders. The purpose of this study is to determine the behavior of farmers in the use of smartphones that adopt TAM theory. This research was conducted in Sialang Sakti Village, Siak Regency. The number of respondents in the study amounted to 30 people who were taken purposively with consideration of farmers who had participated in PSR program. Data analysis using descriptive analysis. The result of this study is that perceptions of expediency of use and attitudes towards use fall into the very high category. The perception of ease of use and behavioral interest falls into the high category. Real conditions of use fall into the category of moderate. It is necessary to develop social media based applications to implement replanting and training in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for farmers so that smartphone ownership can attract interest in actual behavior and use of ICT in oil palm replanting.

For farmers and their families, agricultural extension serves as informal education. Through extension activities, agricultural extension workers are expected to improve human resources in agriculture and also provide infrastructure and facilities for farmers. The function of extension workers in building farmer groups has an impact on the level of development of these groups. This study aims to determine how the influence of the role of extension workers on the development of horticultural farmer groups in Kuantan Mudik District. This research was conducted in Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. All horticultural farmer groups in Kuantan Mudik District became the study population. Sampling was done with multi-stage random sampling technique and obtained as many as 60 respondent farmers calculated using the Slovin formula. Interview-based survey is the research methodology used. Data were analyzed by Structural Equation Model (SEM) using SmartPLS and descriptive analysis. The results showed that the role of extension agents consisting of facilitators, innovators, motivators, dynamicators, educators, and consultants had a positive and significant effect on the development of horticultural farmer groups which included routine activities and division of tasks, adequate facilities, farming experience, group norms and rules, and group achievement. The R Square value of 0.719 or 71.9% indicates that 71.9% of farmer group development is influenced by the role of extension agents, and the remaining 28.1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

The community of Lubuk Bendahara Village on oil palm plantations for their livelihood. Currently, the oil palm farmers are organized into five active farmer groups. The implementation of sustainable plantation practices, as required by the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification, presents both a challenge and a necessity for these farmers. According to Presidential Regulation No. 44 of 2020 and the Ministry of Agriculture Regulation No. 38 of 2020, companies and independent farmers must adopt sustainable practices by 2025. This situation requires the farmer groups to continually update their information. Website serves as an effective information system, providing accurate and beneficial information to enhance the role of these groups. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training on the use of the website luben.id, managed by the village and the farmer groups. The website contains information about the village profile, farmer groups, ISPO materials, and details about oil palm plantations. This activity, conducted from July to August 2024, involves MBKM student interns as agents of change. The outcomes include the establishment of website management, knowledge transfer, and enhanced media literacy among palm oil farmers, particularly in accessing information to support ISPO implementation.
