Abstract

The development process of an area cannot run smoothly and optimally if the process does not match its potential. Magelang Regency actually has potential sectors to be developed and is able to make a good contribution to GRDP. This study aims to analyze and identify leading, competitive sectors which are then used as a driver for economic growth and regional development of Magelang Regency. The data used in this research is secondary data. While the research method uses Location Quotient (LQ) analysis and Shift-Share analysis.Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that there are several prominent economic sectors in the Magelang Regency, namely 1) the agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 2) the mining and quarrying 3) the clean water supply, waste processing and recycling, 4) the transportation and warehousing sector, 5) accommodation and food and drink provision, 6) information and communication, 7) real estate, 8) government administration, 9) education services and 10) other services. Apart from that it is a non-base sector. Meanwhile, in the calculation of the shift share analysis, there are several sectors that have experienced a shift. One of them is the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors. However, as a whole, all sectors in Magelang regency are related to one another and have a positive influence on the overall regional output growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Public Service Obligation (PSO) tariff subsidy policy on the quality of TransJakarta Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services. The focus is to measure how much the PSO tariff subsidy contributes to service quality improvement. A quantitative associative approach is used, with Thomas R. Dye’s (1981) theory of policy impact as the analytical framework, and the SERVQUAL model by Parasuraman et al. (1990) for measuring service quality dimensions. The sampling technique applied is purposive sampling with proportional distribution across 14 main TransJakarta BRT corridors, totaling 205 respondents. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. Findings reveal that the PSO tariff subsidy policy has a positive and significant partial effect on service quality, demonstrated by the rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀), and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 31.1%. This suggests that while subsidies play a crucial role in supporting fare affordability and closing operational gaps, 68.9% of service quality is influenced by other factors. The study highlights that financial support through subsidies is essential but not sufficient to ensure overall service quality. Non-financial factors such as passenger comfort, reliability, and trust also need attention. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is encouraged to maintain a sustainable and transparent PSO subsidy scheme. Meanwhile, PT TransJakarta should strengthen synergy with the Transportation Agency and diversify funding through non-farebox revenue to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable improvement in public transport services.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the implementation of the Mining Safety Management System (SMKP) on workplace accident rates within coal mining operations. A quantitative research design was adopted, utilizing survey data obtained from 390 employees working in mining companies operating under IUP PMDN in South Sumatra. The variables investigated consist of technical risk control, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), safety training and emergency drills, and the utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to assess both the individual (partial) and combined (simultaneous) effects of the independent variables on accident rates. The findings indicate that the regression model is statistically significant, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.436, suggesting that 43.6% of the variability in workplace accidents is explained by the variables included in the model. At the individual level, safety training and PPE utilization demonstrate a significant effect on accident rates, whereas technical risk control and SOP compliance do not exhibit a statistically significant influence. These results suggest that behavioral aspects have a more prominent role compared to system-related factors in mitigating workplace accidents. Accordingly, this study underscores the need to prioritize the enhancement of safety training programs, strengthen safety awareness, and ensure consistent PPE compliance as critical strategies for improving safety performance in the mining industry.

Abstract

Abstract

The coal mining process at PT. Bina Sarana Sukses (PT. BSS) site PT.MME often encounters challenges in controlling coal quality. One of the main issue in the open-pit mine is the presence of batupack or silicified coal as impurities within nearly all coal seams, appearing both laterally as keybeds and as lens-shaped fragments. These impurities affect coal quality and hinder mining operations, while their hardness contributes to wear and damage o coal processing equipment, reducing operational efficiency. To address this, PT. BSS uses two strategies to separate batupack from coal: manual selective (handpicking) and bucket crusher excavators (BCE). A comparative analysis of these methods is required to evaluate technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness, to identify the most efficient approach to produce zero-contaminant coal and to set production targets. The study is conducted through a descriptive qualitative approach, which integrates preparation, scholarly review, compilation of primary and secondary information, and the stages of processing and analytical evaluation. The findings are expected to offer recommendations on the most effective and economical strategy for managing batupack impurities in coal mining operations.
