Abstract

Abstract

Hydration status is a condition that describes the amount of fluid in the body. If the intake of fluids from food and drinks in the project workers is not met, then it has an opportunity to cause dehydration. Declining productivity in workers can be caused by dehydration. Obejctive this study to determine the relationship between physical activity, fluid intake, nutritional status and hydration status in project workers. An observational study with a cross sectional approach, the study population  was project workers. The number of samples in this study were 53 respondents. The study was conducted by direct interview, measurement of body weight, height, body fat percent and urine specific gravity. Data analysis in this study used the Spearman correlation test. The age of workers ranged from 17-52 years. The average BMI of workers is 22,417 kg / m2. The average value of PAL in physical activity of workers 2.37. The average fluid intake of workers is 2018.30 ml. The hydration status of workers who are severely dehydrated is 79.2%. There is a relationship between physical activity (0.026),  fluid intake and hydration status (0.001) and there is no relationship between nutritional status and hydration status (0.789).

Background: Vegetarians are people who live from consuming plant-based (or plant-based) products with or without milk and eggs, but over all avoid eating meat, poultry and marine animals.. According to Household Health Survey (SKRT) cited Budiarti, in 2004 prevalence of hypercholesterolemia in Indonesia in the age range 25-65 years of 11.2%. One way to prevent elevated levels of cholesterol in the blood is to change the diet to become a vegetarian. Objective: To purpose the difference between energy intake, macro nutrients (protein, fat, and carbohydrates), fiber, based on total cholesterol levels in young vegetarian adults in Indonesia Vegetarian Society Jakarta. Methods: Cross sectional study design, independent Bed T-Test test if normal distribution data and Mann Whitney if the data is not normally distributed. Determination of the sample was done by means of different test of two mean and obtained sample of 70 people. Results: The results of the statistical test obtained p-value for energy intake, protein intake, fat intake, carbohydrate intake based on total cholesterol level with normal and abnormal category showed significant difference (p-value ≤ 0,05), and mean fiber intake showed no significant difference (p-value > 0,05). Conclusions: There are differences in energy, protein, fat, carbohydrate intake based on normal and abnormal total cholesterol levels, and fiber intake are expressed as no difference. There is a need for nutritional counseling and routine monitoring of total cholesterol in young vegetarian adults in IVS Jakarta.

Abstract

One of earthquake mitigation activities is to know the probability of damage to buildings and the estimated loss caused by the earthquake on each typical building in an area. In developed countries attempt to predict the probability of damage to buildings caused by the earthquake have been found. One method used is a method of HAZUS (Hazard United States). In evaluating damage to buildings, one of the methods HAZUS by assessing the probability of damage to each building in an area using Fragility curve. In Indonesia, research on the Fragility Curve is still less. This study is an initial study to develop a Fragility curve which in turn will be compared with the version HAZUS Fragility curve building, so that it can be seen a typical residential buildings in Bantul, near the type of building whether in the United States. This study uses data reference damage to housing caused by the Yogyakarta earthquake May 27, 2006. Studied housing is housing that has the same type of building, which houses tembokan with retrofitting. Map data used mikrozonasi Bantul is a map Pariatmono (2008). The data collected includes data characteristic of houses and damage. House defects studied using media images or interviews with houseowners. To determine the probability of damage using FAHP (Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process). Conclusions obtained from this study is that housing in Bantul are studied when compared with the type of building types URML tembokan HAZUS approach (Unreinforced Masonry Bearing Walls)

Abstract

Most of people think insider trading is an unfair activity because the parties that involved have unequal information. In a certain condition, unequal information used in a transaction is a fraud. The BAPEPAM’s act have regulated that insider trading is illegal. Nevertheless it is not easy to bring perpetrators to the court due to some difficulties to prove. Insider trading is motivated by self attentiveness or personal advantage. However, ethical orientation can mitigate insider trading because it can mediate personal benefit. Through a survey administrated to the students, this study would like to examine how ethical orientation can prevent insider trading. Using multiple regressions, this study found that ethical orientation could not mediate the effect of personal benefit to perpetrators behavior of insider trading. Therefore, we concluded that it is important to give ethical education as soon as possible to all the people to prevent unethical behavior like insider trading.

Abstract

Background: Hydration results from body fluids balance, while dehydration results from body fluids imbalance. Dehydration can result from losing too much water, not drinking enough or both of these things. There are certain job who has  special needs for fluids especially who works in hot environments. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge, fluid intake and nutritional status with hydration status in expedition couriers. Methods: A cross-sectional design with 44 expedition couriers as the research subject. Knowledge of fluids were obtained using a questionnaire, fluid intake were obtained by interview using repeated 24-h food recall, nutritional status were obtained by using BMI and the hydration status were obtained by urine specific gravity using urinalysis reagent strips. The data was processed and analyzed using Pearson correlation test. Results: Most of the respondents had sufficient knowledge (59.1%). The average fluid intake of the respondents were 2562 mL. Most of the respondents had normal nutritional status (45.4%). Almost half of respondents has pre-dehydration (45.5%). There  were arelationship between knowledge of fluids and hydration status (p=0,0001, r=-0,514), also between fluid intake and hydration status (p=0,0001, r=-0,685). There is no relationship between nutritional status and hydration status (p=0,337, r=0,148).Conclusion: Fluid intake and hydration status on expedition couriers are still not as expected, even though expedition couriers have sufficient knowledge.
