Abstract

This study investigated the determinants of electric vehicle (EV) purchase intentions in Batam, Indonesia, utilizing the Stimulus–Organism–Response (SOR) framework. We examined how four external stimuli government support, perceived monetary benefits, technology orientation, and perceived risk influence consumer attitude and subsequent purchase intention. Data collected from 356 potential EV adopters via purposive sampling were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that government support, per-ceived monetary benefits, and technology orientation significantly enhance consumer attitude, which, in turn, strongly strengthens purchase intention. This confirms attitude as a central psychological me-chanism mediating the SOR process in EV adoption. However, perceived risk was found to have no significant effect on either attitude or intention, suggesting that a strong policy-supported environment in Batam might mitigate consumer concerns regarding EV technology. These findings validate the SOR framework's application in understanding EV adoption in developing markets. Practically, the study em-phasizes that accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility requires continued government fiscal incentives, sustained technological advancements, and effective public awareness campaigns. By strengthening these positive stimuli, policymakers and practitioners can significantly enhance consumer readiness and contribute to national green-transportation goals.

Abstract

In this modern era, the level of public awareness regarding the use of environmentally friendly products tends to increase. This can be seen from the increase in the number of electric car users in various cities in Indonesia, including Batam City. The purpose of this research is none other than to analyze the effect of environmental beliefs and environmental knowledge on the formation of brand loyalty through the mediating role of environmental concern and environmentally friendly brand image. The research methodology used is quantitative, with a causality design (cause and effect between research variables), and data analysis is carried out using SMARTPLS software. The research results reveal that environmental beliefs and environmental knowledge both have a significant influence on environmental concern. Concern for the environment has a significant influence in shaping an environmentally friendly brand image. Furthermore, green brand image is the main factor driving increased brand loyalty. Environmental concern and environmentally friendly brand image able to act as mediators in connecting the influence of environmental beliefs and environmental knowledge with brand loyalty for electric car products in Batam City.

Abstract

Indonesia’s skincare market is expanding quickly, yet ongoing concerns about overstated claims continue to threaten consumer trust and the effectiveness of digital persuasion. Using the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S–O–R) framework, this study examines how influencer credibility, trustworthiness, and attractiveness, along with online customer reviews, influence purchase intention, while positioning brand awareness as a mediator. The research adopted a quantitative, causal-comparative approach with non-probability, judgmental sampling. Data were gathered from 366 residents of Batam City who had purchased, or planned to purchase, local skincare products after encountering influencer content and online reviews between December 2024 and March 2025. Analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS in SmartPLS 4.0. Findings show that all stimulus variables significantly and positively enhance brand awareness, with online customer reviews emerging as the strongest driver of this effect. Brand awareness has a significant positive influence on purchase intention and fully mediates the relationships between each stimulus factor and purchase intention. The results highlight brand awareness as a key cognitive pathway that translates digital marketing inputs into consumer intent to purchase. In practice, local skincare firms should collaborate with credible influencers and strategically cultivate genuine reviews to enhance long-term brand awareness and mitigate skepticism associated with overclaiming.

Abstract

Drawing on an extension of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this research investigates the factors influencing green purchasing intention (GPI) and willingness to pay a premium (WPP) for eco-friendly items. Two explanatory variables in the suggested framework are ethical obligation (EO) and environmental concern (EC). Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze data from 395 respondents, collected via a five-point Likert scale. According to the findings, EO and SN significantly boost GPI and WPP, whereas EC has a direct effect on GPI but none on WPP. Also, there seems to be an attitude-behavior gap between how environmentally concerned customers are and how much they are ready to pay for products, as the correlation between GPI and WPP is not very strong. These results emphasize the significance of ethical and societal considerations in shaping environmentally conscious purchasing decisions. This research has practical applications for marketers, enabling them to highlight ethical principles and social impact while marketing environmentally friendly goods, and it contributes to TPB's expansion by incorporating ethical issues.

Abstract

This study examines how brand equity functions as a mediator in the relationship between electronic word-of-mouth (E-WOM), Social Media Marketing (SMM), Brand Engagement (BENG), Brand Love (BL), Brand Equity (BEQ), and Purchase Intention (PI) in e-commerce. Currently there is no research with variables mentioned above that implemented the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) therefore represents novelty aspect. Data evaluated from 293 e-commerce consumers is examined using PLS-SEM. Result shows that BEQ significantly mediates the effect of SMM and E-WOM on PI. While SMM and E-WOM both increase BEQ, their direct impacts on PI are shown to be irrelevant. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that BL significantly influences both BEQ and PI, but BEQ does not have a significant effect. The findings showed the importance of BEQ in connecting SMM to consumer PI in e-commerce while using the theory of planned behavior by Ajzen (1985) in Indonesia highlighting this research gap
