Abstract

The rapid growth of e-business has led to increasing concerns about consumer trust due to issues such as data breaches, fraudulent activities, and lack of transparency. Blockchain technology, with its inherent characteristics of decentralization, immutability, and transparency, has emerged as a potential solution to address these challenges. This research aims to analyze the application of blockchain in e-business to enhance consumer trust, providing insights into its effectiveness and adoption barriers. The study employs a qualitative approach, combining a systematic literature review and expert interviews to gather comprehensive data. The research evaluates blockchain’s impact on key trust factors, such as data security, transaction transparency, and accountability within the e-business ecosystem. The findings reveal that blockchain significantly enhances consumer trust by ensuring data integrity, enabling secure and transparent transactions, and reducing intermediary dependency. However, challenges such as high implementation costs, technical complexity, and regulatory uncertainty hinder widespread adoption. The study concludes that blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize trust mechanisms in e-business. To maximize its benefits, businesses must address implementation barriers and foster collaborations with regulatory authorities. Future research should explore blockchain’s integration with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to create a more robust e-business ecosystem.

Abstract

Employee quality remains a critical issue in the life insurance industry, particularly in relation to sales performance and customer acquisition. Educational attainment is often assumed to enhance communication skills, analytical ability, and professional behavior, which are essential for insurance sales agents who interact directly with potential customers. This study examines the effect of educational level on sales performance, measured by customer acquisition and income generation, among sales agents at AJB Bumiputera 1912 in Palangka Raya, Indonesia. A quantitative comparative approach was employed using primary data obtained from company records and field observations. The population consisted of insurance sales agents with senior high school and undergraduate educational backgrounds. A census method was applied to undergraduate agents, while a random sampling technique was used for senior high school agents to ensure equal sample sizes. Data analysis was conducted using non-parametric difference tests to compare average customer acquisition and income between the two educational groups. The results indicate statistically significant differences in both customer acquisition and income levels. Sales agents holding undergraduate degrees demonstrate higher average customer acquisition and greater monthly income compared to those with senior high school education. These findings suggest that higher educational attainment contributes to improved sales effectiveness in the insurance sector through enhanced communication competence, problem-solving ability, and customer engagement. The study provides practical implications for human resource management policies in insurance companies, particularly in recruitment, selection, and incentive system design. Emphasis on educational qualifications may support sustainable sales performance and organizational competitiveness in the long term.

Abstract

This study advances Islamic educational leadership theory by examining the integration of spirituality, ethics, and innovation as a holistic leadership model in Islamic secondary education. Using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design, the research was conducted at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung. Quantitative data were collected from 120 teachers and staff to measure leadership practices across spiritual, ethical, and innovative dimensions. Regression analysis showed that spirituality and ethics were the strongest predictors of leadership effectiveness, while innovation, although positively perceived, had a relatively weaker influence. To deepen these findings, qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, complemented by document analysis. Thematic analysis revealed that leadership practices are strongly rooted in spiritual awareness, moral integrity, and participatory decision-making, reflecting fundamental Islamic values. Innovation was mainly evident in instructional practices, such as blended learning and the use of digital platforms, but was less integrated into administrative and organizational leadership. Identified challenges included limited technological infrastructure, uneven digital literacy, and resistance to organizational change. This study proposes a holistic and transferable framework of Islamic educational leadership in which spirituality provides moral orientation, ethics ensures accountability and justice, and innovation supports adaptive responses to contemporary challenges. The findings contribute to leadership theory by highlighting that transformational change in Islamic educational settings is primarily guided by spiritual and ethical accountability rather than managerial efficiency alone, offering valuable insights for leadership development and policy formulation in Islamic education beyond the local context.
