Abstract

Vocational education is also often referred to as skills. One of them is fashion skills, which is a discipline and art regarding the application of aesthetic design, and natural beauty to clothing and its additional decoration. This research aims to create a program on learning fashion skills in embroidery design for teachers and students with hearing impairments. The approach used in this research is research and development with exploratory mixed method research design and at the program trial stage researchers use experimental methods with single subject research design (A-B-A). The results of a good learning program trial lead students to have a good learning experience, the program that has been made shows that the program can be useful and useful, especially for students. The results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration for teachers in providing learning fashion skills in embroidery design to students.

Abstract

The use of website as an accessible media can be an alternative in learning to write Chinese text. The purpose of this research is to develop an accessible website which can improve the skill of writing simple conversational Chinese texts writing skills for totally-blind class XI students. The research method used is RnD with ADDIE model. The data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation studies, and tests. This research produced a website that was developed based on the analysis of students' ability profiles and the application of MiBee Braille application. Weicibi can improve students' writing skills as shown by an increase in the mean level of phase A1 of 29.25, phase B of 61, and phase A2 of 83. Weicibi has learning and translator features supported by video tutorials. The conclusion is that the Weicibi developed is feasible to use and be effective in improving the writing skills of totally-blind students.

Abstract

Cerebral Palsy children have difficulty in terms of language skills and expressing their desires. The barrier is called the expressive language barrier. Expressive language barriers are characterized by speech delays that do not even develop, so they have difficulty interacting and communicating with their environment. Based on the explanation, it is important to research the use of an aided language stimulation strategy. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the aided language stimulation strategy on increasing the expressive language of children with cerebral palsy. This study uses a quantitative approach with a single-subject research type with an A-B-A research design. The research subjects in this study were a boy and a girl in second grade with cerebral palsy. The information collection techniques use action tests. The information is processed and analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis of conditions and between conditions, then presented in the form of a table and graph. Based on the research result, showed that there was an effect of aided language stimulation strategy on the subject's expressive language development.  This can be seen from the baseline results of the two subjects, namely subject R at baseline-1 was 30%, in the intervention phase (B) was 48.75%, and at baseline-2 was 58.75%. The results for subject N at baseline-1 was 20%, intervention phase (B) was 40.62%, and at baseline-2 phase was 52.5%.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of AR technology to enhance the understanding of students with mild intellectual disabilities in the topic of germination processes in 5th Grade Special School Nusak Jagoi Babang. The research adopts an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The research sample consists of 7 students from 5th Grade Special School. The study begins by conducting a pretest on the subjects before implementing the treatment, which involves the use of AR technology. After the subjects receive the treatment, a posttest is conducted to measure their learning improvement. The results of the study indicate that the use of AR technology can enhance the understanding of students with mild intellectual disabilities in the topic of germination processes. This summary concludes by emphasizing the importance of utilizing AR technology to improve the understanding of students with mild intellectual disabilities in the topic of germination processes, which can serve as a reference for developing technology-based learning programs in the future.

Abstract

Self-development using early intervention programs with material wearing shorts. The goal is that children are able to wear shorts independently without the help of others. This study used mixed methods by combining quantitative and qualitative to see the ability of children to wear shorts, The sample of this study was children with intellectual barriers at an early age (under 6 years). Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the child's research obtained a significant score, where in treatment 1 the score of children wearing pants was 42.3%, in treatment 2 they got a score of 53.8%, treatment 3 with a score of 65.3%, treatment 4 with an 80.7% score and treatment 5 with an 84.6% score. The results of this study showed an increase in the development of self-development wearing children's pants with intellectual barriers.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning of cosmetology skills that have not been optimal for children with hearing impairments in SKh Negeri 02 Serang City. This condition is allegedly the result of inappropriate provision of skills that have not considered talent interests and teacher competence that is not qualified in cosmetology skills. The purpose of this study is to formulate a basic makeup skills program for students with hearing impairments at the senior high school level. The approach used in this research is research and development with exploratory mixed method research design and at the program trial stage researchers use experimental methods with a single subject research design (A-B-A).  The results of the pilot test of the basic makeup program that has been made show that the program improves students' abilities from an initial score of 25% to a final score of 68%.

Abstract

The easy access to inappropriate content through digital media presents a particular challenge in education, particularly in special education. This research aims to get a better understanding of sexual and reproductive health education at the Pembina Pekanbaru Special School, Indonesia. The method of this research uses a qualitative method, and the data is collected through interviews with 4 teachers and 2 parents of students. The results indicate that sexual and reproductive health education at the school is still limited to aspects of the content of human anatomy and physiology. However, other aspects such as sexual and reproductive health are not given sufficient attention. Factors that contribute to the limitations of the learning process at the school such as a lack of resources, poorly structured curricula, and inadequate training for teachers. Therefore, more coordination and comprehensive efforts are needed to improve sexual and reproductive health education for students with special needs at the school.

Abstract

This article examines adaptive physical education through aquatic activities for children with motor barriers. This research is based on several problems faced by children with motor impairment who are not able to fully participate in physical education activities through aquatic exercises. It is caused by the inexistence of systematic and integrated guidelines to which an instructor can refer when giving aquatic exercises to children with motor delay. Adaptive physical education through aquatic activities is really helpful in optimizing motor ability of those children with motor delay. This research aims at figuring out the implementation of adaptive physical education through aquatic activities for children with motor barriers. This research applies descriptive method. Data are collected through observation, interview, literature study, and documentation. Research finding shows that there is not any special learning planning yet which is adjusted to the ability of children with motor barriers. The exercises given to children with motor barriers are made the same with general exercise program and the evaluation of the training results is not yet consistent

Abstract

Learning difficulties in the aspects of reading, writing or spelling (dyslexia) are cases that are often encountered and require special programmed treatment to optimize children's abilities in accordance with their age development. The purpose of this study is to describe the program aimed at one of the second grade students at SDN 195 Isola who has dyslexia and his reading ability is at the pre-requisite stage so that the researcher formulates a program that focuses on the reading aspect. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through in-depth observation, interviews, assessment and documentation studies to explore what students need. The research results obtained are a hypothetical program formulation consisting of rationale, objectives, materials, strategies, and evaluations that have been validated so that it is feasible to be a guide in implementing learning to improve students' pre-requisite reading skills.

Abstract

Cases of children experiencing speech impediments occur in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) because most of them have difficulty in mastering verbal language. The role of the family to reduce the gap is needed so that the child's development can occur optimally. Using the Mand model is expected to help reduce gaps and optimize verbal expressive language development through family-based early intervention. First, a child profile and family profile are developed into a program to address children's verbal expressive language needs and family skill needs. The form of intervention carried out includes the implementation of the program from the interventionist to the family and the implementation of the intervention from the family to the child. The results of the intervention program indicate that the mand model is effective. Children's verbal expressive language skills increase as seen from the acquisition of new vocabulary that children can say. This model is also effective for families because it is natural and easy to follow.
