Abstract

Although the brainstorming method has received attention in a number of studies related to improving students’ activity and critical thinking skills, studies that specifically discuss its effectiveness in overcoming managerial constraints, such as limited learning resources in the form of textbooks and the lack of teacher linearity in the Aqidah Akhlak subject, remain limited. This study aims to describe the implementation of the brainstorming method and analyze its effectiveness in improving the Aqidah Akhlak learning outcomes of seventh-grade students. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design type. This study involved seventh-grade students of MTs Ismailiyah Ngusikan Jombang as participants selected in accordance with the needs of the research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and learning outcome tests, and were then analyzed using the Paired Samples T-Test and the N-Gain test. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in learning outcomes with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, in which the students’ mean score increased from 56.08 to 89.08. Based on the N-Gain test, a value of 74.96% was obtained, indicating that this method falls into the effective category with a high-level classification of improvement in learning outcomes. This finding contributes to the development of innovative learning theory and expands understanding of the importance of students’ active cognitive engagement in the context of religious education. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of the teacher’s role as a facilitator in stimulating students’ critical capacity and independence despite limitations in learning facilities. The implications of this study include a theoretical contribution to enriching the literature on learning strategies in secondary schools as well as practical implications for educational institutions in overcoming barriers related to physical learning resources through collaborative mental activities. This study also opens opportunities for further research on integrating the brainstorming method with technology-based learning media for broader material coverage.

Abstract

Although structured Qur’an learning has received attention in a number of studies, research that specifically examines the detailed process of implementing the Tartil method, as well as its supporting and inhibiting factors in the pondok pesantren environment, remains limited. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Tartil method, the improvement of students’ Qur’an reading ability, and its supporting and inhibiting factors at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Sengon Jombang. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design involving seven informants selected purposively, consisting of the pengasuh, curriculum coordinator, teacher, and students. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model through the stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the implementation of the Tartil method was carried out systematically through the stages of talqin-ittiba', the 3M method (Listening, Imitating, Seeing), and continuous evaluation, and was proven effective in improving the accuracy of makharijul huruf, compliance with tajwid rules, and the students’ reading fluency. The main supporting factors included teacher competence, a religious and disciplined pesantren environment, adequate learning facilities, and the students’ intrinsic motivation. The inhibiting factors included differences in the students’ initial abilities, lack of concentration, limited learning space during the rainy season, and limited teacher availability at certain times. The conclusion of this study confirms that the Tartil method plays an important role in systematically improving the quality of the students’ Qur’an recitation. These findings contribute to the development of the literature on Qur’anic pedagogy and provide practical implications for pondok pesantren to strengthen teacher training, maintain a conducive learning environment, and develop adaptive strategies to overcome physical and motivational barriers. This study also opens opportunities for further research on the long-term retention of Tartil method-based skills and its comparative effectiveness with other methods, such as Ummi or Tilawati.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology in the globalization era has impacted various aspects of life, including business. In the context of marketing, e-marketing has become essential to expanding market reach and increasing product competitiveness. In Asem Gede Village, pandan leaf weavers—mostly women—face limitations in marketing their products widely. Currently, their pandan leaf crafts are only sold through middlemen and traditional markets, resulting in limited income. This socialization and training program aims to provide an understanding of product diversification and digital marketing strategies, with the goal of increasing the income of these weavers. The results of this activity show a significant increase in participants' understanding of product management and the use of e-marketing strategies. Before the training, many participants were unfamiliar with e-marketing concepts. However, after the socialization, their interest and readiness to adopt digital promotion strategies increased dramatically. Products that were previously limited to mats have now expanded to include bags, tissue boxes, and other high-value items. This socialization has positively impacted the local economy and empowered the community, especially women, by increasing income and preserving traditional skills.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of YouTube-based learning media in enhancing student participation and comprehension in Islamic Cultural History classes at MTsN 5 Jombang. The background of this research stems from the limited use of varied learning media, which has led to students’ low engagement and passive attitudes during lessons. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that YouTube-based learning fosters a more interactive, engaging, and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. The visual and auditory elements of YouTube videos help students grasp historical content more concretely and stimulate curiosity and learning motivation. Furthermore, teachers benefit from the platform’s accessibility, as students can revisit the videos for review and reinforcement. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, including unstable internet connectivity and students’ tendency to focus more on video visuals rather than the instructional content. Overall, YouTube serves as an effective learning medium to improve both student participation and comprehension when appropriately integrated with teacher guidance and well-structured learning design.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the inclusive education program at SD Plus Darul Ulum Jombang through Lev Vygotsky’s social constructivist perspective to understand how inclusive learning practices support the academic and social development of students with special needs. Method: This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and school stakeholders, and document analysis. The data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Results: The findings indicate that inclusive education has been implemented by integrating students with special needs into regular classrooms with appropriate instructional adjustments. Teachers applied differentiated instruction, gradual task assignments, and collaborative learning strategies that enhanced students’ participation, social interaction, and learning independence. However, the implementation still faces challenges, particularly regarding the limited number and competence of special assistant teachers and the varying levels of understanding among teachers and parents concerning inclusive education. Novelty: This study highlights the relevance of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) and scaffolding concepts in explaining the effectiveness of inclusive educational practices in elementary schools. It also reinforces the application of Vygotsky’s social constructivist theory.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the configuration and dynamics of triple helix relations (academics, industry, government) in Indonesia, evaluate the institutional capabilities of universities in transforming research outputs into innovations with socio-economic value, and formulate a policy framework conducive to productive collaboration and innovation downstreaming. This study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The target population consisted of three actor groups: academics from accredited public and private universities, industry practitioners from priority sectors, and government officials from relevant ministries/agencies. Quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire survey of 450 respondents consisting of academics, industry practitioners, and government officials selected using a purposive stratified sampling technique. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and policy document analysis. Quantitative data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics (Structural Equation Modeling/multiple regression), while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that triple helix collaboration in Indonesia remains sporadic (72%) and is dominated by technical consulting (45%) and internships (40%), while joint research only reaches 18%. The institutional capacity of universities is still weak, with only 35% having a professionally managed Science and Technology Park and 73% acknowledging that Technology Transfer Office staff play more of an administrative than a strategic role. The matching fund program is known to 82% of academics, but the proposal success rate is only 22% due to administrative complexity and overlapping regulations between ministries. The integration of higher education into the national innovation system requires simultaneous interventions at three levels: strengthening institutional capacity at the micro level, establishing collaboration platforms with clear governance at the meso level, and harmonizing policies and regulations at the macro level. Future research is recommended to use longitudinal approaches and social network analysis to map the evolution of innovation networks more comprehensively.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has influenced students’ morals and behavior, particularly at the junior high school level. Although digital media can support the learning process, its increasingly widespread use has also raised various moral issues in the school environment. This study aims to analyze the optimization of the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in overcoming students’ moral degradation in the digital era at SMP Negeri 1 Peterongan. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving PAI teachers, students, and school stakeholders. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was strengthened through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results showed that students’ moral degradation was marked by declining discipline, reduced respect for teachers, misuse of digital devices, and weak behavioral control. This condition was influenced by internal factors in the form of students’ habits and self-control abilities, as well as external factors in the form of exposure to social media, peer influence, and limited parental supervision. In addressing these problems, PAI teachers optimized their roles as educators, role models, motivators, and counselors through religious habituation, personal approaches, exemplary conduct, spiritual motivation, and supervision of students’ behavior. These findings contribute to the development of studies on character education based on Islamic values in the context of the digital era. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that addressing students’ moral degradation requires the continuous and integrated optimization of the role of PAI teachers through synergy among schools, families, and communities.

Abstract

Qur’an-Hadith learning frequently remains teacher-centered and predominantly informative because Qur’anic concepts have not been sufficiently developed as methodological foundations for instruction, thereby limiting students’ reflective and critical engagement with religious texts. This study aims to construct tafakkur as a Qur’anic pedagogy and explain its relevance to fostering critical thinking in Qur’an-Hadith learning. A qualitative descriptive approach with a textual-empirical orientation was employed. Textual analysis examined the concept of tafakkur in the Qur’an and its interpretations in exegetical sources, while empirical data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of Qur’an-Hadith learning at MA Darussalam Ngesong Jombang. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility established through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that tafakkur can be conceptualized as Qur’anic reflective reasoning that progresses from observing Allah’s signs to constructing ethical meaning. This pedagogical concept was formulated into five interconnected learning stages: observing, questioning, reflecting, reasoning, and ethical meaning-making. Its application facilitates students’ more reflective, analytical, and meaningful engagement with Qur’an-Hadith texts. The study concludes that tafakkur provides a Qur’an-based pedagogical framework capable of integrating reflective reasoning, critical inquiry, and ethical formation. These findings contribute to the development of Qur’anic pedagogy and offer practical implications for designing Qur’an-Hadith instruction that moves beyond information transmission toward reflective-critical and ethically oriented learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Baghdadi method in improving Qur'anic reading skills among students at Pondok Pesantren Roudhotun Nubaha Al-Mukhlisin Mojokerto, as well as to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. The background of this research lies in the importance of effective Qur'anic teaching methods to develop basic reading and comprehension skills. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The results show that the implementation of the Baghdadi method is conducted gradually—starting with the introduction of Arabic letters (huruf hijaiyah), mastery of articulation (makharijul huruf), vowel marks (harakat), and eventually progressing to reading and memorizing short surahs. Supporting factors include active involvement from teachers and parents, the use of appropriate instructional media, and high student motivation. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited instructional time, inadequate classroom conditions, and the lack of advanced tajweed instruction.
