Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of population growth on regional development in West Jakarta, focusing on its impacts on infrastructure, environmental quality, economy, and community welfare. Using a qualitative approach with library research methods, this study examines various relevant secondary literature, including scientific journals, official reports from BPS and Bappenas, as well as spatial planning policy documents of DKI Jakarta. The results show that West Jakarta's population growth, reaching 1.8 percent per year with an average density of 20,824 people/km², produces dual impacts: driving economic growth with a GRDP of Rp 285 trillion, while simultaneously putting pressure on infrastructure, degrading environmental quality (PM2.5 at 45 µg/m³), and widening socio-economic inequality with an unemployment rate of 8.2 percent. Integrated management strategies through vertical housing development, integrated public transportation, and enforcement of spatial planning regulations are key to achieving sustainable regional development.

Abstract

The rapid development of computer network technology requires vocational high school (SMK) graduates to possess competencies that align with the needs of business and industry, particularly in the field of router-based network management. One of the networking devices widely used in industry is MikroTik due to its comprehensive features, flexibility, and support for various network configuration requirements. However, based on observations conducted at SMK Sasmita Jaya 2, students of the Computer and Telecommunication Network Engineering (TJKT) program still face challenges in mastering network configuration, especially in operating MikroTik routers, implementing routing concepts, and performing network troubleshooting. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve students’ networking competencies through training and implementation of basic MikroTik router configuration using a hands-on training approach. The implementation method was conducted intensively through three stages: preparation, execution, and evaluation. The training materials covered RouterOS introduction, IP address configuration, basic routing, Network Address Translation (NAT), network connectivity testing, and basic troubleshooting. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test methods to measure improvements in participants’ understanding and technical skills. The expected outcomes include improving students’ ability to independently configure computer networks, enhancing analytical and problem-solving skills, developing training modules and practical worksheets, and increasing students’ readiness to meet workforce demands in the field of computer networking.

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia and has been linked to immune dysregulation, including increased pro-inflammatory TNF-α and reduced anti-inflammatory IL-4 activity. Nutrient-dense polyherbal supplementation may provide a complementary strategy to support nutritional status and immune function. This experimental study investigated the nutritional composition and immunomodulatory activity of polyherbal honey (PHH) formulated with curcuma xanthorrhiza, black cumin seeds, and honey. Vitamins, minerals, and bioactive constituents were characterized using laboratory assays. The immunomodulatory effects of PHH were subsequently evaluated in HTB-183 cells by measuring IL-4 and TNF-α expression after exposure to different formulation concentrations. The analysis confirmed the presence of vitamins A, C, and E; calcium and potassium; and several bioactive compounds in the PHH formulation. PHH exposure increased IL-4 expression and reduced TNF-α expression relative to untreated cells, although the magnitude of these responses varied across concentrations. These findings demonstrate that PHH contains nutritional and phytochemical constituents with potential immunomodulatory activity. Further preclinical and clinical investigations are required to determine its efficacy and safety as complementary nutritional support for children with stunting.

Abstract

Lung cancer is a major contributor to mortality worldwide, yet late-stage diagnoses remain frequent due to inadequate public knowledge. This study aimed to assess lung cancer awareness, perceived risks, and symptom recognition among suburban residents in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, to provide data for public health initiatives. The research utilized a cross-sectional design, enrolling 100 individuals aged 18 to 80 from the Kasihan 1 Community Health Center area through consecutive sampling. Participants were given a validated questionnaire regarding their knowledge of lung cancer, its risk factors, and associated symptoms. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that 63% had moderate knowledge, 22% exhibited good knowledge, and 15% showed poor knowledge. While 76% recognized lung cancer, 55% incorrectly considered it rare, and only 35% were informed about early screening opportunities. Participants demonstrated a strong awareness of active smoking (85%) and passive smoke exposure (82%), yet displayed limited knowledge of environmental carcinogens such as asbestos (35%) and genetic risks (49%). Most could identify key symptoms like shortness of breath (77%), chronic cough (76%), and chest pain (70%). The results highlight significant gaps in understanding non-tobacco-related risks and preventive measures, influenced by socioeconomic factors and local lifestyle habits. Overall, suburban residents show critical blind spots regarding non-behavioral risks for lung cancer, underscoring the need for enhanced primary care education and subsidized screening programs to promote early detection.
