Abstract

Postcolonialism literary criticism is a critical approach to literature that involves the historical context of colonialism and its impact on culture, identity, and power. Postcolonial literary criticism also helps provide an understanding of the concept of 'the Other', i.e., the way in which colonial culture denigrates and belittles other cultures outside its nation. This study aims to examine the article by Ki Hadjar Dewantara written in the newspaper Express with an approach to literary criticism of postcolonialism. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative literature study with an analysis method, namely content analysis. The source of this research data is an article entitled "Als ik een Nederlander was" or "If I Were a Dutchman," written by Ki Hadjar Dewantara (KHD) and published in De Express Newspaper on July 13, 1913. The research data is in the form of discourse quotes contained in the article. Data collection techniques include read, listen, and record techniques. The findings contained resistance in the form of mimicry, hybridity, and ambivalence. The resistance to mimicry or imitation shown by KHD is included in the category of closed or covert reciprocity because the rejection of the policies implemented by the Dutch government is opposed by writing that contains subtle but sharp satire. Hibridity resistance is found in the choice of KHD diction that deliberately explores and contrasts the words inlander-nederlander, freedom and slavery, freedom and oppression. The ambivalence resistance that was found was KHD, who initially wanted to become a Dutchman with his various arguments that flattered as well as satirized and gave condemnation to the colonial nation as KHD's strategy in awakening the patriotism and nationalism of the Indonesian people to fight for independence.

Abstract

Currently, teachers are required to design and implement active, creative and innovative learning so that they can encourage students to learn better. One of the subjects in the Merdeka Curriculum is science lessons. With interesting media, students will feel happy and interested in participating in learning. An alternative solution that can be applied to increase the creativity of elementary school students is to develop flipbook learning media by implementing project-based learning that is integrated with the teachings of Ki Hadjar Dewantara, namely the Tri-N teachings which include niteni, niroake and nambahake. The flipbook learning media is designed to be as efficient as possible so that it can foster the creativity dimension of students. With the development of flipbook media, it is hoped that students will be more enthusiastic in learning. Based on the results of the implementation of flipbook-based digital science learning module products in science learning, response data was obtained from fifth grade elementary school students as product users, that the flipbook-based digital science learning module products that have been developed are liked by students and can help increase students' learning motivation in learning, can help them learn the materials studied, and can increase their creative dimensions.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences (IPAS) at elementary schools. The study involved 23 fourth-grade students from Sompokan Primary School. This research utilized a one-group pretest-posttest design. Student learning outcomes were obtained through pretest and posttest exams consisting of 20 short-answer questions. The pretest results showed an average score of 56.43 with a standard deviation of 12.251, while the posttest results showed improvement with an average score of 83.70 and a standard deviation of 6.071. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test indicated that both pretest and posttest data followed a normal distribution, with significance values of 0.200 and 0.120, respectively. The correlation between pretest and posttest scores was 0.683, statistically significant (p < 0.001). Paired samples t-test showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (t = -14.156, p = 0.000). These findings suggest that the use of E-LKPD based on PBL positively influences the improvement of student learning outcomes in IPAS for fourth-grade elementary school students. This method enhances interactivity and student engagement in learning, facilitating deeper understanding and critical thinking skills. Thus, E-LKPD based on PBL can be an effective strategy to enhance the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

In primary education, character education is crucial as this period is the foundation for children's moral and ethical development. Natural Sciences and Social Sciences (IPAS) education in elementary schools aims to develop students' understanding of society and the social environment while instilling moral values. However, IPAS learning often faces challenges in student engagement. This study aims to analyze the needs of IPAS learning media based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated with Tri-Nga values (Ngerti, Ngrasa, Nglakoni) for elementary school students. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method to analyze the needs of Student Worksheets (LKPD) media in IPAS learning based on PBL and Tri-Nga values. The results reveal challenges in IPAS learning, including a lack of student discipline and difficulties in teaching IPAS material that involves a lot of memorization. The implementation of LKPD based on PBL and Tri-Nga values is expected to help address these challenges and support the development of student discipline character.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity and practicality of the mathematics building card learning media using Augmented Reality technology to improve critical thinking skills. This study uses the design and development stages. The design stage aims to design a prototype of the mathematics building card using Augmented Reality technology. In contrast, the development stage seeks to test the validity and practicality of the mathematics building card using Augmented Reality technology. The subjects involved in the study were seven validators in the expert validation activity and 11 people in the product practicality activity. Data analysis used V Aiken for expert validation, while practicality used the percentage of practicality. The expert validation results showed that the V Aiken calculation results were more than 0.76 for each item. The practicality results obtained a percentage for each statement item of more than 77.27. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the mathematics building card learning media product using Augmented Reality technology can be categorized as valid and practical. The results of this study imply that research products need to be further researched, such as testing the effectiveness of the resulting product.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate efforts to develop an ecocriticism-based curriculum in various universities in Indonesia and measure the effectiveness of these interventions in improving student understanding. The research method uses mixed methods. The study results show that lecturer training programs, curriculum changes, resource increases, and the use of technology contribute significantly to the improvement of understanding of literary ecocriticism. For this, universities with better curriculum quality and higher lecturer competence tend to produce better understanding among students. Universities with more faculty training programs and more intensive curriculum changes show a higher increase in understanding among students. In particular, leading universities investing in extensive faculty training programs and periodic curriculum revisions show more positive results than universities undertaking such interventions. Thus, this study shows that investment in lecturer training and increased access to literary resources are essential for successfully integrating ecocriticism into the literary curriculum.

Abstract

Javanese language is a compulsory local content in schools from primary to secondary level in Central Java, East Java and Yogyakarta. However, Javanese language lessons, especially Javanese script material for some children, are considered difficult. Based on the results of a survey conducted in several elementary schools in Central Java and Yogyakarta, it is known that almost 90% of students have difficulty reading and writing using Javanese characters. Based on these problems, this research is intended to provide an alternative solution through the development of learning media in the form of Aksawa Scrapbook so that students are more motivated to learn Javanese script. This study uses a research and development (R&D) design with the ADDIE model which consists of analysis, design, development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects in this study are students and teachers of elementary schools in Central Java and Yogyakarta. The media feasibility assessment was validated by material experts and media expert validators, as well as classroom teacher practitioners as well as Javanese language teachers. The data collection technique uses observation, interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques use qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of this research resulted in a product, namely in the form of Aksawa Scrapbook media. Based on the assessment of experts, practitioners and student responses, the Aksawa Scrapbook media can be declared very feasible to be used for Javanese script learning media in elementary school with an average score of 92.41 with very good criteria. The conclusion of this study is that the script scrapbook media is declared feasible and effective to be used to help students learn Javanese reading and writing skills.
