Abstract

One of the learning models that can train students in developing argumentation skills is the jigsaw learning and its modified forms. This study aimed to see the effectiveness of the four-step jigsaw learning and the Jigsaw learning in improving students' argumentation skills about the concept of salt hydrolysis. This study was conducted with 2 classes of 11 grade students of SMAN 7 Kerinci Jambi. Some 53 students in total were purposively recruited and participated in this experiment. Concurrent embedded mixed method with two-group pretest-posttest control group design was used in this study. The results of independent t-test showed that 4SJ was more effective than the Jigsaw class (t= 2.668; p-value = 0.01 < 0.05). It was supported by the n-Gain of 4SJ which was 0.71 and the n-Gain of jigsaw was 0.67. Two factors that influenced the differences in students' argumentation skills were observed; these included the difference in learning duration and the intensiveness in conducting the argumentation debate. Abstract

This research is part of a research project to help improve students' argumentative skills in chemistry subjects. This research is part of the development of argumentation-based teaching materials while other studies have developed learning models, teaching materials and a collection of argumentation questions. The purpose of this research was to determine the process of developing students' e-worksheets, the feasibility of students' e-worksheets based on concept and practitioner perceptions, and the effectiveness of students' e-worksheets that were developed as teaching materials based on the Toulmin argumentation pattern. Product trials were conducted at state senior high schools 11 Jambi City. The results of the practitioner's eligibility based on the teacher's response are in the very good category and students from both groups have a correlation in the "high" category. The effectiveness test is seen from the average N-Gain score of the experimental class in the quite effective category. There is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class which can be seen from the difference in learning outcomes of the experimental class (using students' e-LKS based on the Toulmin argumentation pattern) higher than the control class (not using e-LKS).Keywords: Acid-base, E-student worksheet, Toulmin's argumentation pattern

Abstract

The FBAL learning model is a learning model that has a specific purpose to improve students’ argumentation skills by integrating Toulmin's argumentation pattern. This study aimed to see the effectiveness of the Modified Flip-Based Argumentation Learning in improving students' argumentation skills about the concept of hydrocarbon compounds. The effectiveness was examined by comparing this model to Flip-Based Argumentation Learning and Flipped Classroom model. The factors that influence the differences in students’ argumentation skills amongst the three classes were also investigated. Concurrent embedded mix method design was used in this study. Some 93 students of 11 grade of SMA Negeri 1 Merangin Jambi were participated in this study. Data were collected using argumentation test (pre-test and post-test) and observations. The results showed that there was no difference between the Modified FBAL and FBAL in improving the students’ argumentation skills but both were different from the Flipped Classroom. The N-gain was 0.80 and 0.81 respectively for the Modified FBAL and FBAL. However, those were higher than the N-Gain of Flipped Classroom which was 0.71. Difference in providing the students with opportunities to practice their argumentation skills amongst the three models was the major factors influencing the students' argumentation skills in the three classes.  Keywords: argumentation skills, flip based argumentation learning, modified FBAL, flipped classroom, hydrocarbon compounds

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of the flipped classroom approach on the guided inquiry model and student's self-efficacy on creative thinking skills on the reaction rate material. The study was conducted in class XI MIA SMA N 3 Jambi City with a 2 x 2 factorial design and the sample consisted of 2 classes chosen randomly. Data collection using test techniques, namely essay tests, includes indicators of creative thinking and non-tests, namely self-efficacy questionnaire data and field notes during the study. Analysis of the data used is 2-way ANOVA. The results showed that guided inquiry learning with the flipped classroom approach and high self-efficacy categories had high creative thinking abilities, but there is no interaction between learning models with self-efficacy towards creative thinking abilities on the reaction rate material because learning models and self-efficacy affect the results of students' creative thinking abilities independently. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded: (1) There is an influence of the flipped classroom approach on the guided inquiry model of students 'creative thinking abilities on the reaction rate material (2) There is an effect of students' self-efficacy on the ability to think creatively on the material reaction rate (3) There was no interaction between the learning model and students' self-efficacy.Keywords: Creative thinking skills, Flipped classroom, Guided inquiry, Reaction rate, Self-efficacy

Abstract

Keywords : artisan, idealist , guardian, metakognitif dan rational .
