Abstract

The maritime sector is one of the paths to Golden Indonesia 2045. This is because 70% of Indonesia's territory is a sea with an area of 3.25 million km2 and is supported by the large potential that can be utilized for the welfare of Indonesia, one of which is as a contributor to foreign exchange with foreign exchange potential from maritime sector amounting to US $28 million to US $56 million. The problem lingers on how to possible solve the problem regarding air pollution without shutting down industrial operations. Many multinational power plants have launched different campaigns in order to minimize the problem like planting trees and the like. But these small growing industries like grilling restaurants have given way to arising problem of air pollution issues On the other hand, the ocean is a contributor to half of the world's oxygen. But in a period of 50 years, areas with minimal oxygen levels in the oceans have increased. The main cause is global warming, one of which comes from increasing levels of carbon monoxide in the air. One of these gases comes from incomplete combustion in motorized vehicles. This is also exacerbated by the growth of motorized vehicles which has increased by 11.5% per year. If left like this, marine life will be destroyed and Indonesia will not reach its peak of glory in 2045. So to overcome this problem, a prototype design of Carbon Monoxide Box Separator was created. This prototype is a combination of detector sensors consisting of MQ7 to detect carbon monoxide, MQ135 to measure air quality, and DHT11 to measure humidity and air temperature, as well as a high voltage system on the L-Box (Lightning Box) which can produce O2 because of the copper plate. on the L-Box will bind the element carbon to carbon monoxide using a voltage of 400 kV. With this prototype design, it is hoped that Indonesia can achieve its glory and also as a form of QS practice. Ar-Rum verse 41 regarding Allah's command to preserve nature and the environment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Energy is an important element in the continuity of human activities. Indonesia has the potential to produce 94.5 GW of electricity in the hydropower sector, but only a few can be utilized, which is only 11%. This study aims to utilize renewable energy that has not been utilized optimally, especially in Indonesia. This study exploits the potential of water flow from the Coban Wonoasri River, Bangun Village, Munjungan District, Trenggalek Regency which has a low head but has a fairly heavy discharge. The basin cone for making vortex flow has a canal length of 1450 mm, a canal width of 231.5 mm, and a canal height of 500 mm with a basin cone diameter of 560 mm, a basin cone height of 700 mm, and a water outlet diameter of 90 mm. A vortex turbine with a diameter of 270 mm and a height of 210 mm with a total of 8 blades, a blade curvature of 30°, and a blade tilt of 22.5° was used for research on this low head river. The inlet notch variations that will be used are angles of 0°, 17.82°, 19.30°, and 19.98°. The method used in this study is the experimental method, where the best results are obtained from the results of tests carried out on variations in the inlet notch. The inlet notch with a width of 0° and a discharge of 8.81 l/s cannot produce turbine rotation because the vortex flow is not formed properly. Inlet notch with a width of 17.82° and 19.30° produces an average turbine speed of 157.2 rpm and 159.2 rpm. The variation of the inlet notch with a width of 19.98° produces the best turbine speed of 162.7 rpm with a flow rate of 7.72 l/s.

Abstract

PT. ROFENTI KARSA TAMA is a ceramic industry that produces products in the form of ceramics from natural stone which are addressed in Winong GEMPOL Village - MALANG. To produce a perfect ceramic process requires absolutely reliable electrical and mechanical equipment. In an automatic system a frequency converter is used as a speed regulator, because in a manual system using a grinder, the capacity is only 0.57Kw (kilowatts), and the production effect is not good. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design an automatic polishing machine using a PLC-based converter. Based on the PLC, the capacity is 5 or 5 Kw (kilowatts). This system can increase ceramic output and improve quality. In this case, assuming that the operator usually uses an automatic system to complete the work of the three operators, the polishing machine production costs can be reduced. Through system improvement, production quality can be improved, manual polishing operators can only produce 480 pieces per day, while the automatic system can produce 1,536 pieces. One day, the polishing operator will save production costs of Rp 2.7 million per month.

Abstract

Currently, the demand for electrical energy in homes, buildings, and industry is increasing, in line with population and economic growth. Of course, because of the massive use of electrical energy, it is necessary to increase efficiency. Large shopping malls in some countries are the biggest consume electricity, especially when it comes to cooling systems. Therefore, it is necessary to save energy in shopping centers. Because there are still few tenants and shopping centers that are relatively quiet, the mall's energy consumption is low, so it requires increasing energy-efficient consumption efficiency by optimizing power management and calculating the chiller performance coefficient (COP). This research aims to increase the chiller performance coefficient (COP) to save energy in shopping centers. The optimization method used is to make changes to the chiller ignition schedule when it's used in malls. Through the analysis from this research, it was found that the COP increased to 0.584, and the value before optimization was 6.181. With increasing COP, the chiller performance will increase. The effect of increasing the chiller's performance could optimize the electrical energy efficiency of the chiller in 138.82 kWh/day

Abstract

Technological developments are increasing every day. Where most human activities do not escape the use of electrical energy. The increase in world fuel oil and its scarcity has led to many new innovations, one of which is the use of renewable energy. The most widely used renewable energy is solar, wind and hydro energy. To support the effectiveness of the generator, a charger controller is needed to maintain battery performance. In this accumulator the maximum voltage required to charge is 14.4 Volts. The problem that arises is how the voltage generated from the generator does not match the voltage required in the battery charging process. From this problem, a charger controller with a buck converter circuit with the PI method was made to stabilize the output voltage for charging. The aim o this study is to make a battery charger that can stabilize the level voltage of the battery charger. From the research, it was found that the efficiency value of the charger controller is 83-95% and the average error percentage is 1.373%. For this reason, it can be concluded that the charge controller has good performance in terms of efficiency and percentage of output voltage error. The charger controller is expected to maintain battery performance and lifetime of the battery.

Abstract

Electrical energy has become a primary need in society, including in education. This is related to the number of electrical equipment used to support teaching and learning activities. However, this is not directly proportional to the students' awareness of the importance of saving energy. From this, the authors create a management system for electric power, which aims to save electricity consumption by limiting the use of electrical loads. In this system, the method used is a decision tree; the goal is to limit and set priorities for electrical loads. When three classes are ON simultaneously, there will be a reduction in the electrical load. There is a website for monitoring and changing the automatic or manual mode in this system. The manual mode is used to control the electrical load according to the status entered on the website. While the automatic mode regulates the use of electrical loads by controlling the ON or OFF conditions using a schedule that has been made, the website also monitors current, voltage, power, energy, and usage costs. The system has been tested with automatic and manual modes for monitoring data on the website. It has data updates every 10 minutes. The system has also been tested by scheduling using a decision tree and compared with scheduling without using a decision tree. From the test results for a day, it can be concluded that the system created is able to save electricity consumption. This is reinforced by a decrease in energy use of 1,17 kWh and a cost of Rp. 1.116.

Abstract

In 2019, fossil energy produced more than 88% of Indonesia's electrical energy. For this reason, innovation in supplying electrical energy via renewable energy is required. One of them is wind energy with a potential of 60.6 GW, which has only been utilized at 0.15 GW or only 0.25% of the existing potential. One of the essential components in this power plant is the battery. The process of charging the battery that is not suitable can cause a decrease in battery performance. Therefore, a battery charger is built that uses a buck converter to lower the voltage while employing PI control to regulate the output voltage. From system testing, it is found that the output voltage of the charge controller is stable, where the most significant error value from the output voltage value is 0.972%. The average output current from the buck converter test using the PI approach is 16.84 mA, while the average input current is 15.73 mA. As a result, this charge controller can improve the battery charger's charging efficiency and hence lengthen the battery's lifetime.DOI: 10.17977/um024v7i12022p023
