Abstract

Queuing systems in the Indonesian healthcare sector play a crucial role in delivering efficient and high-quality services to patients. This study aims to analyze various queuing system models implemented in hospitals and other healthcare facilities, with a primary focus on the FIFO (First-In-First-Out) method. In this system, patients who arrive earlier will be served first. Although the FIFO method has been proven effective in increasing efficiency, various challenges affect the performance of the queuing system, including high patient numbers, limited human resources, and inadequate infrastructure. This study also identifies the potential of technology in optimizing the queuing system, such as information technology-based applications that can expedite the registration process and reduce patient waiting times. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the health sector in Indonesia has been increasingly encouraged to adopt digital technology in queue management, which can improve the quality of health services. This technology can enhance the flow of information to patients and aid in setting queue priorities, particularly for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and pregnant women. Additionally, government policies that support digitalization in the healthcare sector also play a crucial role in overcoming various existing obstacles. By employing a holistic approach that incorporates infrastructure, technology, and human resources, it is anticipated that the queue system in the Indonesian healthcare sector can be significantly improved, offering faster and more efficient services and enhancing patient satisfaction.

Abstract

This study investigates the challenges posed by the glass ceiling and the implementation of meritocracy for female civil servants (in Palu City, aiming to identify strategies for enhancing career progression. Employing a constructivist research paradigm with a qualitative approach, data were gathered through interviews including the Mayor, City Secretary, BKPSDMD Head, and representatives from various departments within the Palu City Government. Analysis was conducted using triangulation techniques aided by NVIVO 14 software. Findings reveal that the glass ceiling manifests as conflicts in work-life balance, limited decision-making authority, and entrenched gender biases, hindering women's career advancements. Nonetheless, it also serves as motivation for female civil servants to assertively engage in career development. Overcoming these obstacles demands exceptional resilience, perseverance, and a composed demeanor in facing challenges. The glass ceiling can stimulate proactive measures toward career success among women. Conversely, a fair and transparent meritocracy system emerges as a viable solution to mitigate the glass ceiling's effects. This entails implementing mentoring, coaching, training, and educational initiatives addressing women-specific workplace challenges such as time management, salary negotiations, and work-life equilibrium.

Abstract

Coffee has high economic value and is a very promising export commodity for Indonesia. Lembantongoa Village is one of the Robusta and Arabica coffee producing villages which has good potential in Sigi Regency. So far the coffee products sold by the people in the village are coffee beans. The utilization of coffee in Lembantongoa village is still limited to coffee beans. The coffee beans that have been collected are then further managed at the production house. Coffee beans under size 5 are coffee beans that are not included in the coffee criteria for consumption because they will affect the taste of the coffee drink. Coffee beans that are not sorted will become coffee waste that is not used and will damage the environment. Therefore, unsorted coffee product development is carried out to become coffee soap in order to increase its selling value. Making coffee soap is done traditionally to avoid chemicals. This writer's activity was able to produce processed coffee soap products that were packaged under the name Letofie. The results of testimonials from consumers who have tried are very useful for skin beauty.
