Abstract

Pembelajaran tematik dengan system layanan bimbingan belajar gratis merupakan salah satu upaya percepatan program percepatan pendidikan di desa tertinggal agar tujuan pendidikan nasional dapat tercapai. Pelatihan Pembelajaran Tematik ini dilakukan oleh tim pengabdi dari Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar bersama mahasiswa dengan sistem layanan bimbingan gratis di tingkat SD yang berlokasi di SD Negeri 091299 Sipoldas Kecamatan Panei, Kabupaten Simalungun. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk mengetahui permasalahan terkait pembelajaran setelah masa pandemi covid-19 dan dampaknya jika program pembelajaran tematik dengan system layanan bimbingan belajar gratis dilaksanakan. Dari hasil kegiatan pelatihan ini diketahui antusiasme siswa sangat menyenangkan karena mendapatkan layanan bimbingan belajar gratis yang belum pernah mereka nikmati sebelumnya. Kegiatan ini mengembangkan motivasi siswa di sekolah. Harapan terbesar para siswa dan guru-guru dan pimpinan di sekolah tersebut adalah agar program kegiatan ini dapat berkelanjutan sehingga dapat membantu para peserta didik secara khusus yang berada dalam wilayah desa tertinggal

Abstract

Masyarakat simalungun belum memiliki pengetahuan tentang dampak bakteri coliform fecal bagi lingkungan perairan terkhusus bagi biota air karena kualitas air di simalungun terus menerus menurun sehingga pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penyuluhan tentang dampak bakteri coliform fecal bagi biota air. Pengabdian ini telah dilakukan pada bulan September-Oktober 2022 di simalungun dengan metode penyuluhan dan angket yang diikuti oleh peserta sebanyak 20 orang. Hasil penyuluhan menunjukan bahwa masyarakat paham 100%  tentang dampak bakteri coliform fecal yang dapat membunuh biota air yang lain karena terjadi kompetisi memperebutkan oksigen dan jika terus menerus terjadi maka akan merusak lingkungan dan ekosistem perairan. Dari penyuluhan ini terlihat animo masyarakat sangat tinggi, dan mereka menjadi lebih paham tentang upaya memperbaiki kualitas air dengan mengurangi pembuangan limbah organik ke perairan di simalungun.Simalungun people have yet to learn the impact of faecal coliform bacteria on the aquatic environment, especially for water biota because the water quality in Simalungun continues to decline, so this service aims to provide education about the impact of faecal coliform bacteria on water. This service was carried out in September-October 2022 in Simalungun with the counselling and questionnaire methods that 20 participants attended. The counselling results show that the community understands 100% about the impact of faecal coliform bacteria, which can kill other aquatic biota due to competition for oxygen. If this continues, it will damage the environment and aquatic ecosystems. From this counselling, the community's enthusiasm is very high. They have become more aware of efforts to improve water quality by reducing the discharge of organic waste into waters in Simalungun.

Abstract

The independent learning curriculum has been implemented in various educational units in Indonesia. Facts on the ground state that not all stakeholders understand the free learning curriculum. Therefore, the service team of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University has carried out community service at SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean, Simalungun Regency, where this service aims to socialize the independent learning curriculum for teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean. This service received a good response and was appreciated by the Principal of SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean. The results obtained from this service were 76.7% of the participants stated that they were satisfied with this service. It is hoped that through this activity there will be cooperation between the university and the school to develop the quality of teachers for the creation of quality education.

Abstract

Aquatic plants are float on the surface of the water and easy to continue to grow and can even be detrimental to the environment and other aquatic organisms it they have expanded, so it is necessary to use them to reduce losses. One way to use aquatic plants is to know the phytochemical compounds of these aquatic plants, so that they can be used as medicinal plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the phytochemical compounds found in aquatic plants such as water eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes), genjer (Limnocharis flava) dan kiambang (Salvinia molesta). This research was conducted at the water resources management laboratory University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar with the extraction method from the leaves. Phytochemical test carried out consisted of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, phenolics, tannins, and vitamin c. phytochemical test results of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics and vitamin c were found in the three types of leaves the aquatic plants, while saponins were not found in genjer and eceng gondok, then tannins were not found in genjer. The highest phytochemical content is found in kiambang, and the lowest phtochemical content is found in genjer plants. Furthermore, it is necessary to test the antibacterial activity of aquatic plants originating from the water of Pematangsiantar city.

Abstract

This study aims to: Describe teachers' perceptions about the implementation of the independent learning curriculum in science education and describe the constraints felt by teachers in implementing the independent learning curriculum as well as solutions to overcome these obstacles. This type of research is a case study. The sample in this study was a science teacher at SMP DR Wahidin Sudirohusodo Medan, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique and developed using a snowball sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques were carried out in an interactive descriptive manner. The results of this study indicate that the teacher's perception is positive because they welcome the implementation of the independent learning curriculum, supported by adequate socialization and training so that they can apply the concept of learning science in accordance with the independent learning curriculum. Constraints experienced by teachers in the form of technical and non-technical constraints. There are several factors that become obstacles, namely, the first is the inadequate quality of the teacher's human resources, the second is that the facilities and learning resources are minimal or the infrastructure is inadequate and the teacher is clueless, the third teacher is comfortable with the old standard and has no experience in learning independent study.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbasis HOTS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar dan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbasis HOTS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan Quasi Experimental dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas X PMIA SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar dengan teknik Purposive Sampling, diperoleh kelas X PMIA-5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X PMIA- 1sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan tes hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa bentuk soal essay berbasis HOTS sebanyak 10 soal dan lembar keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan uji-t diperoleh nilai t(hitung )>ttabel yaitu 4,245 > 1,99547 disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak maka terdapat Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Berbasis HOTS Terhadap Hasil Belajar Kognitif Fisika Siswa SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dilakukan dengan tiga kali pertemuan dimana diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 3,13 termasuk kategori baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Solving terhadap hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa di SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar, dan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran Problem Solving terhadap hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa di SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimental dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI PMIA SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan tenik Purposive Samlping serta sampel yang dibutuhkan sebanyak dua kelas yang masing- masing berjumlah 36 siswa yaitu kelas XI PMIA-3 dijadikan sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dan kelas XI PMIA-4 dijadikan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Solving. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes dalam bentuk essay untuk mengukur hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest-posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 27,42% dan 84,08%, nilai rata-rata pretest-posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 17,50% dan 76,02% sehingga nilai kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol. Pada teknik analisis data uji hipotesis “t” yaitu thitung 9,607 > ttabel 1,99444 sehingga H0 di tolak dan Ha di terima artinya terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Solving terhadap hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa. Dan hasil keterlaksanaan pada model pembelajaran Problem Solving sebanyak tiga kali pertemuan memiliki nilai rata-rata 4,1 dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Solving terhadap hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa di SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Sintar. Dan hasil keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran Problem Solving terhadap hasil belajar kognitif fisika siswa terlaksana baik.

Abstract

Batak fish (Neolissochilus sumatranus) is an endemic fish to North Sumatra Province, especially in Lake Toba. Currently, Batak fish are categorized as endangered due to overfishing and their habitat is starting to be damaged, so conservation efforts need to be made, one of which is from microbiological analysis of water found in the aquatic environment in Batak fish farming. This study aims to determine the quality of water in Batak fish farming in terms of aquatic microbiology. This descriptive research was conducted in Lake Toba waters, using random purposive sampling at 4 stations, namely: Parapat, Ajibata, Gorat, and Haranggaol Lake Toba, North Sumatra Province. Microbiological analysis was carried out at the Water Resources Management Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar. The results showed that the bacteria found in Batak fish farming in Lake Toba waters were fecal coliform bacteria with numbers at station 1 (360/100 ml), station 2 (830/100 ml), station 3 (1310/100 ml), and station 4 (1110/100 ml). In general, the quality of Batak fish aquaculture water does not meet water quality standards, because the content of fecal coliform bacteria is above the 1000/100 ml quality standard.

Abstract

Improving writing skills is as supporting factor for the success of learning carried out by each teacher. Writing ability comes from the habit of reading and analyzing problems in learning that is carried out every day. The culture of writing is still far from being a habit for teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran. Therefore, the University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University team has carried out a community service at SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran, Jalan Besar Parapat, Nagori Bah Sampuran. district Jorlang Hataran, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra where this service aims to socialize methods of improving English literacy skills using the problem based learning method for teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran. This service has been received with good response and was appreciated by the Principal of SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran. The results obtained from this service were 76.7% of participants who stated that they were satisfied with this service. It is hoped that with this activity, there will be a good cooperation established between the University and the school to develop the quality of teachers in order to create the higher quality education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of Cabri 3D software on students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The type of this research is quasi-experimental research. One form of design used is the nonequivalent control group design. The instrument used in this research is an instrument to test the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The results obtained were that after implementing the Cabri application assisted learning in the experimental class, the average value of the pretest scores of student learning outcomes was an average of 75, while the pretest average value of the control class learning outcomes was 50. Posttest scores of student learning outcomes with an average -an average of 80, while the average value of the posttest control class learning outcomes is 72.5. This shows that the use of media assisted by the Cabri application in learning students' understanding of mathematical concepts is higher. Based on the average score of the student learning outcomes test, it can be seen that the experimental class is higher than the control class. This shows that the use of media assisted by the Cabri application in learning cubes and blocks has a significant effect on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in geometric material.
