Abstract

The global environmental crisis is a serious threat to the sustainability of human life, economic stability, and the balance of the world's ecosystems. Rising global temperatures, air pollution, water pollution, and biodiversity loss show that environmental issues require a multidisciplinary approach that is not only technical, but also ethical and normative. In an Islamic perspective, maqasid sharia provides a value framework that aims to realize benefits and prevent damage. This research aims to analyze environmental issues through the perspective of maqasid sharia by emphasizing the five main goals of sharia: protecting religion, soul, intellect, descent, and property. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach from classical sources and cutting-edge references. The results of the study show that environmental protection is an integral part of the sharia goals and is relevant to be applied in today's sustainable development policies..

Abstract

Abstract

The halal industry is a strategic sector in Indonesia’s economy; however, its development continues to face sustainability challenges, particularly in integrating environmental considerations into the halal value chain. While the green economy paradigm has become central to sustainable development discourse, systematic efforts to integrate this framework within the Indonesian halal industry remain limited and fragmented. This study aims to analyze the systemic and conceptual integration of the green economy framework in supporting the sustainability of the halal industry in Indonesia.Using a qualitative approach, this research employs a narrative literature review of scientific articles indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar from 2019–2025. Literature selection was conducted systematically based on thematic relevance, conceptual contribution, source quality, and contextual alignment with halal industry and green economy issues. The findings reveal that integrating green economy principles into the halal industry requires a multidimensional framework comprising five components: (1) green sharia value, (2) green production and clean technology, (3) sustainable halal supply chain, (4) green halal financing and investment, and (5) policy, governance, and public engagement. The model demonstrates that halal industry sustainability depends not only on sharia compliance but also on ecological efficiency, technological transformation, and collaborative governance. The study contributes theoretically by linking maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah with the green economy paradigm and provides practical guidance for developing sustainability-oriented national halal policies.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive business world, companies are required to innovate in order to maintain a competitive advantage. This article aims to analyze the comparison between Red Ocean and Blue Ocean strategies in creating competitive advantage. The research method used is a literature review, by collecting and analyzing related literature from various sources, including scientific journals and research reports. The results of the study indicate that the the Red Ocean Strategy focuses on competition in existing markets, encouraging companies to increase efficiency and product differentiation, but often traps them in price wars. In contrast, Blue Ocean Strategy offers an innovative approach by creating new market space that reduces the intensity of competition, allowing companies to build advantages that are difficult to imitate. Understanding these two strategies is important for determining strategic directions that are in accordance with dynamic market conditions. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of sharia financing in improving business performance and encouraging the acceleration of halal certification for culinary MSMEs in Makassar. The research is motivated by limited access to sharia financing and low ownership of halal certification which affects business competitiveness. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach through interviews, observation and documentation of MSME actors and sharia financial institutions. The research results show that sharia financing used by MSMEs in the form of murabahah financing through Bank Syariah Indonesia is able to increase business capital, production capacity, income and business development. Apart from that, sharia financing also supports the acceleration of halal certification through capital assistance, improving business facilities, and increasing halal awareness of business actors. However, its use still faces obstacles such as low sharia financial literacy, limited information, and financing administration processes and halal certification. This research shows that sharia financing not only functions as an economic instrument, but also as a means of empowering MSMEs in increasing the competitiveness of businesses based on halal principles.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of capacity sharing strategies in the context of the halal industry in Makassar, with a focus on increasing operational efficiency and product innovation. Capacity sharing helps companies reduce operational costs, accelerate time to market, and drive innovation by sharing production, logistics, and R&D facilities. The capability sharing strategy has the potential to optimize the use of resources through cooperation between companies in terms of production, sales, and research and development (R&D) facilities, which can bring significant benefits in increasing the competitiveness of the halal industry.' This research uses a literature research approach that allows collecting and in-depth analysis of case studies, strategic management theory, and relevant literature covering relevant aspects of Islamic economics. This study shows that this strategy can provide significant advantages for companies in meeting stringent halal standards and facing existing operational challenges. However, to ensure the success of this strategy, challenges such as compliance with strict halal standards and collaborative risk management must be taken seriously . Capacity sharing strategies have great potential to bring positive change in the halal industry, but they must be implemented with a careful approach and supported by the right framework. The practical implications of this research include encouraging the business world and regulators to consider capacity sharing strategies as a solution to increase efficiency and innovation to maintain competitive advantage in an increasingly complex and dynamic global market.
