Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic mindfulness in improving self-control among vocational high school students at SMK Al-Ikhlas Batujaya Karawang. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving Islamic Education teachers, student affairs teachers, and students as key informants. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that Islamic mindfulness was implemented through religious habituation activities, including Qur’an recitation, congregational prayer, dhikr, prayer, muraqabah, muhasabah, patience, sincerity, and tawakal. These activities helped students develop spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral awareness. Improved self-awareness encouraged students to manage anger, delay impulsive reactions, consider the consequences of actions, and direct their behavior toward more positive and disciplined conduct. Supporting factors included a religious school culture, teacher guidance, routine religious activities, and student participation. Inhibiting factors included peer influence, excessive social media use, and unstable internal motivation. The study concludes that Islamic mindfulness can serve as a relevant character education strategy for strengthening students’ self-control in Islamic-based vocational education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the urgency of discipline as a key element in character development for students in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Despite various regulations being implemented, disciplinary violations still occur, necessitating the active involvement of student organizations as partners in the development and supervision process. In this regard, the Student Organization of Asshiddiqiyyah Islamic Boarding School (OSPA) plays a crucial role in improving student discipline through various ongoing programs and activities. This study aims to determine the role of OSPA in fostering student discipline, describe the forms of OSPA's involvement in improving student discipline, and analyze the results of OSPA's involvement at Asshiddiqiyyah 3 Putra Karawang Islamic Boarding School. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that OSPA functions as a driving force, supervisor, and role model in fostering student discipline. OSPA's involvement is realized through monitoring daily activities, implementing regulations, issuing warnings and educational sanctions, and fostering the habit of religious and learning activities. This involvement has a positive impact on increasing students' compliance with Islamic boarding school regulations, punctuality in participating in activities, and growing students' awareness and responsibility in carrying out daily obligations. Thus, OSPA plays a crucial role in creating an orderly, disciplined, and conducive Islamic boarding school environment for the development of students' characters.

Abstract

The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping teaching and learning practices across nearly every level of education, including Islamic religious education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI). While AI offers considerable convenience, its rapid adoption raises concern over whether Islamic values can be sustained amid accelerating digitalization. This article sets out to map the challenges that AI disruption poses for PAI and to propose adaptation measures that Islamic educational institutions can pursue. The study applies a qualitative approach through library research, reviewing, comparing, and synthesizing findings from SINTA-accredited and reputable international journal articles concerning AI and PAI. The findings indicate that AI contributes positively to PAI through adaptive learning, interactive media, chatbot-based religious consultation services, and more measurable learning evaluation. At the same time, four fundamental challenges emerge: gaps in teachers' digital competence, risks to academic integrity such as plagiarism, uneven technological infrastructure across regions, and a decline in the personal teacher-student interaction that has long served as the primary vehicle for instilling religious values. In response, this study proposes four adaptation measures: strengthening digital literacy, repositioning the teacher's role as facilitator, adjusting the PAI curriculum to accommodate technology without diluting its value content, and enforcing digital ethics through collaboration among stakeholders. The study concludes that PAI's success in facing AI disruption depends not on how advanced the technology is, but on the ability of educational institutions to position AI as a supporting tool (wasilah) rather than a replacement for the teacher's role as a moral and spiritual guide.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Canva-based audiovisual media on the learning motivation of eighth-grade students at MTs Assiraj. This study employed a correlational research method and was conducted at MTs Assiraj, Bekasi Regency. The study population consisted of a single eighth-grade class comprising 39 to 47 students. A saturated sampling technique was used. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires, and data analysis was performed using the t-test. The hypothesis testing results showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is less than the significance level (α) of 0.05; thus, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Consequently, it can be concluded that the use of Canva influences students' learning motivation.
